A few years later, he helps a young couple whose endearments toward each other sound familiar—Spock's final words: taluhk nash-veh k'dular. I cherish thee. Spock's last words were a confession, and he never realized it. Leonard spirals, writing two notebooks full of things he never got to say to Spock, and in a drunken stupor, he wakes to see a hallucination of Spock judging him. Only Spock's not a hallucination.
