“I’ll confess!” he declares. “It was me who wrote that letter, Saihara-chan. I had to stir up some drama, you know? Otherwise, my dear detective would get bored — and we can’t have that, right?”
Shuichi frowns, his gaze picking apart the crinkle of Kokichi’s eyes. “You’re lying to me.”
Kokichi gives him a lopsided grin, lowering his arms and tilting his head to the side. “Maybe,” he says, that sort of teasing lilt Shuichi has gotten used to hearing in his voice. “You’re a detective, aren’t you? Isn’t it your job to figure that out?”
Kokichi leaves anonymous letters lying around for Shuichi to find. Shuichi just about loses his mind.

Summary
If this happened somewhere else, literally anywhere else, he would’ve considered it hilarious. The looks on people’s faces would have him cackling, the absolute absurdity of the situation would automatically make it one of his favorite stunts yet, and the brand new story he’d have to tell DICE would be the highlight of his entire month.
Kokichi knew wishful thinking would get him nowhere. Especially not here, being swallowed by masses of soapsuds, any prospects of pleasantly surprising Shuichi shattering into a million pieces. A million bubbles, if he wanted to be more accurate.
(He really, genuinely didn’t.)
kokichi takes pride in making even the most mundane things interesting. overloading the saiharas’ washing machine, however—not exactly his finest moment.
