"Kit, shut up, you were literally being sappy about the clan last night." Rell blew a strand of hair out of her face and threw her hand of cards on the table. "I fold."
Oshanine side-eyed the cards and grinned. "If you're wondering why your hand is bad, it's because Bash switched out your cards when you weren't looking."
"Snitch! Snitch! Nine is a dirty snitch!" The Ghost in question shrieked its displeasure.
Rell narrowed her eyes at the battered drone. "You little-"
She launched herself at the Ghost, who zipped away shrieking. Kit shook her head, smiling despite herself. Oshanine raised an eyebrow and a shit-eating grin began to make its way onto his face. Phes was pointedly ignoring the chaos, but a similar smile was reflected on her face as well.
Kit sighed. "What."
Oshanine's grin grew further. "Oh, you know what Miranda would say. Pure chaos, the lot of us, but we fit together so well you'd swear that we were all part of the same-"

Summary
After a mythological Golden Age, humanity has all but fallen and the dead god known only as the Traveler hangs in the sky. The Last City of humankind is protected by Guardians, supersoldiers powered by the Light and risen from the dead — and the last defense of the Sol System against invaders.
The Darkness does not come as an invading army, though. It comes wearing familiar faces. It promises greatness. One clan finds themselves facing alien gods of flesh and machine, and the Darkness itself before it can bring about a second Collapse.
