    It is not, he soon found out—standing inside the lobby of a studio lit by soft, warm light and faced with a beautiful man in well-worn, rumpled clothing and with a lopsided bun on top of his head, wrapped up in a fuzzy blanket and wearing no shoes at all—an acupuncturist.

    “Cuddle therapy,” Lan Wangji says, his voice drawn carefully flat over the overwhelming panic welling up inside his belly. He had not thought his brother so cruel. This must be some sort of horrible mistake.

    Lan Zhan cannot always feel or tell what his tentacles will do.

    His free hand curls into a fist. Underneath his skin, the tentacles give a little squirm, as if aware of the challenge he has just issued them. No touching Wei Ying unless he says so, because he wants to touch Wei Ying first. They squirm again as if to say, Tentacles: 1, Lan Zhan: 0.

    That will just have to be remedied.

    Or, as phnelt first described: Tentacle-ji getting jealous of his tenties for touching Wei Ying in places he hasn't yet
