Summary
He looked at the mirror just to the side of him, dress still in hand, and nearly stopped breathing.
The way he was holding it in front of himself almost made it look like he was wearing it. The soft sea foam green looked gorgeous against the scales scattered around his face and arms. The way the layered skirt flared around him disguised the fact that he had a very straight, flat figure. The dropped neckline helped with that too, framing his shoulders in a way that made them appear more slender, unlike his suits which only made them broader.
For a moment he manifested his avian traits. The yellow wings looked closer to gold when up against the beautiful shades. Normally when he had both his cod and avian traits visible he just looked like a mess. Now he looked, well…
He looked beautiful.

“Come on Jim! I know something’s up with you, just fucking tell me man.” Joel tried to reason, resting a hand on Jimmy’s shoulder.
Tim shrugged him off with a snarl, wings puffing up defensively. “I told you to drop it! It’s fine, everything’s fine. Stop being so damn nosy all the time!”
“Maybe when I actually believe that I will. You can’t seriously be trying to convince me ‘everything’s fine’. Anyone could see how weird you’ve been lately!”
“Just don’t worry about it!” Jimmy said frantically, backing up slightly. “It’s just- it’s stupid, it’s just my dumb bird problems don’t worry about it.”
Joel didn’t seem to know what to say to that but fortunately Grian did.

Looking back on this past month, he’d been happy, more than he’d ever been before, dead or alive. Every rehearsal, regardless of whether they’d nailed every move and cheered in excitement after, or missed almost all their cues, making Jinu grill them all, he'd enjoyed it.
Every second of downtime he’d had with the Saja Boys he’d coveted, whether they were silently basking in each other’s company, exhausted after practice, or yelling at the top of their lungs at something stupid that had happened in a drama they were watching together in their pajamas. He couldn’t imagine going back to what he’d had before.
There had to be some way that they could stay.
