    Summary

The soft afternoon sun dappled through the leaves of the peach trees, casting dancing shadows across the patio where the two immortal monkeys often found themselves. Today, however, tranquility had been dramatically interrupted. Sun Wukong, the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, had Macaque pinned, a wide, mischievous grin plastered across his face.

"Alright, Macaque," Wukong declared, his voice a low rumble of playful challenge, "time for some endurance training!"

Wukong had thought they were doing fine. Not perfect, they had a little too many fights for perfect peace, but he at least thought they were making progress! Instead, he finds himself evacuated from his bed by a familiar shadow.

Or: Macaque annoys Wukong with shadow clones lol

    Summary

Riptide cut him off almost immediately. “Not important. Not important?” He let out a hysteric laugh and shook his head. Wukong barely repressed the instinctive urge to let his ears pin themselves against his skull. “You were out of commission for two of your shifts. Are you aware of all the scrambling we had to do to cover them? Not to mention you collapsed in front of civilians in a public area! Including our poor receptionist! Do you know how much PR had to be done to assure the public you were still alive and breathing?!” He harshly criticized.

Wukong huffed. “Wow. Nice to know my death was so inconvenient for you.” He noted sarcastically.

    “It was.” Riptide bluntly agreed.

Summary: An incident occurs with The Monkey King’s powers at the Institute and new protocols are put into place. Though before he can learn them, he’s thrust into a situation he has no idea how to handle as his civilian self and discoveries are made

***I recommend reading the two previous works in this series before this one, they have crucial plot points that make it so that reading this by itself may seem confusing***

    Summary

In Chinese tradition, a ghost marriage (Chinese: 冥婚; pinyin: mínghūn; lit. 'spirit marriage') refers to a marriage in which one or both parties are deceased.

For women in traditional Chinese culture, ghost marriages are often performed as it is considered shameful to be parents of an unwed daughter, with unmarried girls often being shunned from society. For men, ghost marriages are performed for the sake of progeny, as they allow the family's lineage to carry on.

Sun Wukong doesn't ask for one out of traditional reasons.
