Summary
The Cat King doesn't stop when he reaches Charles, instead circling him lazily, surveying him from each angle. “Which begs the question — why are you here? Afraid they're comparing notes?”
Charles jumps, startled by the monarch's proximity. “What? No!”
The Cat King hums, considering. “Need to borrow a cup of sugar for your tea?”
Charles can’t help but feel distinctly like a plaything, as if he came here to personally entertain his boyfriend’s boyfriend. “Oh, bugger off.”
Undeterred, the Cat King continues, “In need of someone to warm your bed while Edwin is away?”
Charles' mouth opens to object again, but his heart leaping into his throat stops him cold.
The Cat King sashays back into his field of vision, eyes full of a feral delight. “Oh my, I guess third time really is the charm.”

Charles' boyfriend, Edwin, is out of town with Charles' ex, Crystal, on an investigation, leaving Charles to handle a difficult case on his own. In search of a quick release, he seeks out the one person with the correct skill set for the job -- who just so happens to be his boyfriend's boyfriend, the Cat King.
Things get more complicated from there.

Summary
Since they got back from Port Townsend, Charles has noticed that Edwin has been locking one of his desk drawers. Probably to keep the new members of the agency from snooping around in it. He hasn’t asked. Until the day he accidentally discovers that the drawer contains letters addressed to him, all the words of love that Edwin refuses to tell him directly.
Or: it would be much easier for Charles to figure out his feelings if Edwin gave him a little more information about his own.

“Good thinking,” murmurs Edwin. “Perhaps it’s a benevolent sort of poltergeist. I wonder if -”
He’s cut off by a shower of daisies, the large, long-stemmed ones they put out in the shops for early spring.
“Aw.” Charles picks one up between thumb and index finger, turning it in his hand. “That’s pretty. D’you know, whatever’s making this happen, I feel like it honestly means well with us.”
Edwin isn’t listening. When Charles looks at him, he’s paler than normal, his jaw set in that not-at-all-good way.
“Please excuse me,” says Edwin, and walks straight into their mirror.(A teacup appears in the office, Edwin blushes a significant number of times, and Charles copes normally with being visibly showered in affection.)
