Summary
They breathe hot in each other’s spaces, two planets crashed into a singular wrecked orbit, but Marty drops his hands and walks away, not yet wondering why he’ll always feel Rust weigh on him like a gravitational pull.

Summary
"I don't believe man can love—at least, not the way that he means. Inadequacies of reality always set in."
Sophia is dead and his neural circuitry is fried and what happened in Carcosa will never go away. That is his reality. The world spins on, a flat circle on a doomed trajectory, and the suffering goes on forever—but it's a clear evening and the stars are burning, burning, burning. Lafayette General is behind them, and Marty is a warm, solid presence supporting him, and this goes on forever, too, and Rust admits to himself that, whatever they've got, whatever their reality is... it's enough.

Summary
“D’you remember the comet that hit Jupiter in ‘94?”
Marty blinks his eyes open, turning over in bed to squint up at Rust. He was this close to falling asleep, too. “What do you think, Rust?”
Or: post-Carcosa, life goes on.
