Summary
Steve had tried to find Bucky as soon as he'd healed from the Insight disaster and it had lead him into a trap, and into the clutches of a horror the likes of which he'd never encountered before. He tried to convince himself that the creature had been a product of delirium, a nightmare made flesh only by his imagination. There was no way it could have actually existed.
But then his health begins to deteriorate, and he is faced with the impossible truth that it was very real.
Now HYDRA wants to take back what he has been unknowingly nurturing within his body by any means necessary, and as Steve slowly becomes aware of the circumstances surrounding his capture, his whole world begins to crumble around him.

Last she'd seen Julien, he'd been standing guard outside, unable to be persuaded that it wasn't necessary. Thaisha wasn't sure if it was because she was the one asking or if he just couldn't stand the idea of doing nothing.
Now, though, he was nowhere to be found. Thaisha frowned and did a quick loop before she went to the next most likely place for him to be.
The door to Aranessa's borrowed room was still half-open, and Thaisha peeked inside to find her not in bed, but sitting on the small couch on the other side of the room, eyes fixed on nothing in particular. Thaisha could see her only in profile, but she could tell that she hadn't slept.
Or: Thaisha gets a glimpse of Aranessa and Julien, in the wreckage of all they've lost, and starts to understand how little she understands him.
