Summary
Reaching for a candy bar, Eddie’s hand closed around something warm and wiry. Looking over slowly, all eight eyes of the spider met his gaze. Eddie screamed and threw the spider out the open passenger side window.
“No, no, fuck no!” Eddie rolled up the windows as though it might try to climb back in.
Taking a few deep breaths, Eddie met his own eyes in the rearview mirror.
“IT is dead and if IT wasn’t it would do a lot fucking worse than torment me with an immortal spider. It’s… it’s just trauma or something.”
The spider leapt out of his backseat roughly six hours later and he nearly caused a four car pile up with his swerving. Eventually he managed to trap it in an empty soda cup in a move that included spilling gummy worms across the seats and holding the wheel steady with his knee to free up his hand.
“I swear to god if you come out of that cup, I’ll throw you out of the car again. I don’t give a fuck if it’s littering. I’ll pay the fine.”
Eddie Kaspbrak wakes up in the collapsing sewers by himself, not nearly as dead as the other Losers thought him to be, not happy to find himself left behind, and not quite alone either. OR Eddie Kaspbrak and the spider that just won’t die.

WOOHOO THAT FIC ABOUT EDDIE SURVIVING... with a damn idiot spider. so well-written. they feel so human. and its not like common reddie fics where they're js the hot yaoi base if ykwim... as always i love reddie... but yk its gr8 that, of course, there's more than js... reddie? the balance is gr8. these are also the longest notes i've ever written on a fic. they really make me think deep, huh
finished reading june 10, 2025, very good, as always they are very well in character, i love reddie yes and more than that how they js wrote everyone and everything. yeah its really good

When the beer is all gone – and Stan’s cocktail too via some unasked for assistance – Richie's spirits rise to their prior heights. "I'm gonna text Eddie to see if he's awake," he crows, "it's gonna be so funny."
"How is that funny," Stan asks, but he's always had a weird sense of humor, he wouldn't get it.
"It's funny ‘cause he'll think I'm hitting him up for a booty call. He's gonna be so pissed." The thought makes Richie giddy. He's been pushing it with the gay chicken lately, ratcheting up the fake flirting to match his recently out persona, and it's been getting on Eddie’s nerves – scratch that, it’s been getting on everyone’s nerves.
