Todd didn't really know why that phrase carelessly yelled by his roommate hit him so loudly. Now that he was back in his room, sitting in front of his desk and bathing in the haze of this feverish dream of uttering an impromptu poem for his whole class and being applauded for it, Todd felt that his usually speeding mind was crowding his senses again.
And it couldn't mean any good.
or: Todd have a huge existential crisis and panic attack about it, but his friends are great and Neil is sweet, so it's okay.
