Work Text:
A busy intersection where a bus once hit a young girl who jumped into the road with reckless abandon.
A small shrine where a kind couple always resides, known by the kids in the neighborhood for the nice man who likes to give them popsicles.
A tall building with an urban legend surrounding it that even if you jump, you'll survive anyway so you should just live instead.
A busy school where students are known for their outrageous acts of bravery and daring. No one can stop them, much less the gap moe idol of the school who has since graduated.
A forest where "mysterious deforestation transgressions" occurred one night without a single soul noticing. But all of the trees had been mysteriously and cleanly cut, much to the confusion and dismay of local Environmentalists.
The well-loved shrine to the god who could grant good grades to students. And reportedly popularity, but that was more wishful thinking by wild youths. But perhaps it wasn't.
A large mansion in Takamagahara where shiki mill about, happily milling about their day, writing their thoughts and emotions into the 50th journal. Really, journals really should be thicker, right?
And a much much smaller shrine nearby. Homemade and rickety, but clean and cared-for. Perhaps a tad bit over-watered for a shrine, but that was all right. Some forget that dead wood can't grow again, but they can still hope. A bottle of 5-yen coins and a fluffy-fluff scarf rest in front of it as well.
And a boy with golden hair and hawthorn eyes sits nearby focusing on drawing in a sketch pad of memories, sitting, waiting, and wishing with a new 5-yen coin everyday for a master that has yet to answer one last prayer.
