Work Text:
“How did a triceratops even escape the paddock?! Going to have the fences checked before any more get out, right Claire?” Owen ranted over the radio as he drove through the empty roads towards the shops. He didn’t understand how they not only had a Code 19, but the dinosaur had somehow made it close to the visitors center.
Owen was going to give everyone so much shit when this was solved. It was a good thing the park was closed otherwise there would be bigger issues. Like having to deal with visitors. He had enough trouble just dealing with Hoskins, thanks.
Driving past some shops, Owen paused as a noise grabbed his attention. Looking ahead he smiled as the loose triceratops’ tail disappeared around the corner. Revving his bike back up, Owen took off after it. It didn’t take long for Owen to catch up, what with the triceratops not moving very fast.
He had just gotten level to the fence for the mosasaurs enclosure when the aquatic dinosaur suddenly breached just feet from the fence. “What the fuck?!” Owen cursed as he skids to a stop. Just in time to avoid being smashed under the massive weight of the equally massive dinosaur as she aimed her descent toward the fence.
Massive jaws wide open, the mosasaur landed on the pathway, and the fence, with a slapping sound. The triceratops spooked, but before she could take off, the mosasaurs jaws snapped closed with a sickening sound of sharp teeth digging into a scaled hide.
Owen stared wide-eyed as he watched the mosasaur drag the screaming triceratops into the water, the aquatic dinosaur delved down deep into her tank. Continuing to stare, Owen blinked the water out of his eyes and swiped his now wet hair off his forehead, having been caught in the splash as the two dinosaurs fell into the lagoon.
“You fuckers better have seen that. And Claire? BUILD A BIGGER FENCE.”
