Chapter Text
“What is this commotion about?” He heard someone appear outside the refresher door but it wasn’t a normie, it wasn’t even one of his brothers, “These are sleeping quarters.”
“Sorry Captain, he… he had flashbacks and had to flee the room.” Hunter’s voice said.
“Flashbacks?” The other voice asked, “Of what?”
“Coruscant sir.” He hated this, he just wished he could be normal, that he could just exist again without being so afraid of everyone and everything.
“I see.” Was all the person said to that and before anyone could say anything the door opened, “Stay out there Sergeant.” He realized that it was Captain A’dar that was the other voice, “That’s an order.”
“Y… yes sir.” Hunter replied after a moment of hesitation and the door slid shut.
Neither of them said anything as the Captain sat down at arm’s length from him, he didn’t know why the man was sitting with him in silence, why he had wanted to be in the room with him, “One?” The man asked after what felt like forever, he nodded, “Insertion?” He shook his head, “Right… you’re probably sick of hearing it and I know you think you weren’t but you were lucky.” He was sick of hearing it, he hated hearing it because no one knew what it was like, how he felt about it because lucky would have been not having it happen at all, “Just know that some of us weren’t that lucky.”
“W… what?” He finally took his face out of his knees, looking to the man in the dim light.
“I’m Coruscanti, very low level, lower than 1313.” The Captain explained, “My mother was a spice junkie and sold me to men for credits, only stopped when she died of an overdose.” He looked at the man so confused, why was he telling him this? “You were assaulted on Coruscant, I was too, so know that you are not alone in your suffering and if you ever want to talk to someone, someone who understands, you can talk to me.” Captain A’dar smiled to him.
“Why…? You don’t know me…” He hiccuped and wiped away the tears that started dripping down his face.
“That’s easy to remedy.” Captain A’dar placed a hand on Nokt’s head, it was long and slender but it was a comfortable weight, “My bridge is always open to you, day or night, if I’m not there then one of my crew will help you.” Nokt couldn’t reply, he hiccuped again before breaking down, “It will be alright ad’ika.” He was pulled gently into a hug and held against the Captain’s frame, for the first time in forever he felt seen, someone knew what he was going through!
“I… I felt so lonely!” He sobbed.
“I did too.” The Captain replied softly, “It’s a lonely way to live, even with people who love you.”
“Y… yeah.” He wiped his eyes of tears.
“Don’t worry, someone will always be there for you.”
“Okay… thank you.”
