“Did any of the villains have feathers?”
Tamakawa turned to Naomasa, ears flicking in interest while the detective crouched down to inspect a pile that was mostly beef.
“No, why do you ask?”
“Do cows have feathers?”
“No they do not, last time I checked, Tsukauchi.”
“You sure?”
Naomasa reached down and tried not to gag as he pulled a pion out from the gunk that once might have called itself a villain. Or a cow. With feathers. Or just bad fashion taste. Some combination of those things.
Now it was barely more than what you find at the bottom of the stew.
“Pretty sure, yes...”
“Then who’s feather is this?”
Naomasa held the first possible piece of evidence into the flickering fluorescent light.
The crimson of it wasn’t just from the blood.
