Chapter Text

Jenna Hart-Oliver had one year prior lost her father Tommy Oliver the greatest Ranger to ever live, defeating Lord Zedd at the cost of his own life. She sat in her room looking at old photos of him. There was one of her riding on his shoulders, the two of them striking fight poses, and another of them with the other Mighty Morphin Power Rangers including her mother Kimberly Ann Hart who currently stood outside her door.

Kimberly saw tears coming down her daughter’s cheeks and she went to sit down next to her on the side of her bed. “I miss him,” Jenna said.

“I know sweetie,” Kim replied kissing her daughter’s forehead.

“I wish it didn’t have to end that way.”

“Me neither, but your father sacrificed himself so you could live.”

“I didn’t ask him to do that,” Jenna said her sadness mixed with bitterness.

“He would’ve done it regardless, that’s why I loved him, he put others before himself.”

Jenna smiled remembering how much Tommy cared.

“I’ve received a message from Ninjor he wishes to speak to you at his temple,” Kimberly said.

“Okay, give me some time to get ready.”

“Take all the time you need; he’ll understand if you don’t want to come today.”

“Thanks Mom,” Jenna said as they hugged.

Kimberly left the room and she thought back to the last time she and Tommy talked with Ninjor.

Two years ago…

“Ninjor, I have a request,” Tommy said.

“Of course Tommy” Ninjor replied.

“Should I perish I want my powers to pass on to Jenna.”

“Tommy are you sure?” asked Kimberly.

“I am Kim, she’s become so strong, noble, and kind, mostly due to you,” he joked and she laughed knowing that some of his qualities also went into her. “I cannot imagine anyone better to carry on my legacy than my baby girl,” he continued, he called her that even though she was not so little anymore.

“Okay then,” Kimberly said, “I second that request.”

“Your opinion is noted Kimberly,” Ninjor said, “Tommy your request is granted, your daughter will be your successor.”

“Make sure that it’s her choice.”

“Understood.”

Present Day…

After drying her tears and cleaning up Jenna was ready to meet with Ninjor. Kimberly gave Jenna her own Communicator and the two teleported to Ninjor’s temple. This was the first time Jenna had been to Ninjor’s temple. “Jenna Hart-Oliver, welcome,” said Ninjor after he appeared in a puff of smoke.

Jenna and Kimberly bowed in respect to the creator of the Power Coins. “The last time I saw you, you were a little girl clinging to your father’s leg,” he said cheerfully, “My how you have grown.”

Jenna just smiled at the memory, “Why did you request to meet me?” she asked.

Ninjor looked to Kimberly who nodded her approval. “Two years ago, Tommy came to me with a request, and that request was to pass on his powers to you.”

Jenna was stunned at this, “Is that even possible? I thought you had to be chosen.”

“Coincidentally the Grid has chosen you, for you are strong, kind, courageous, and driven. Your father had always been proud of you, proud enough to deem worthy of the Master Morpher. With it you will be given access to all of your father’s Ranger Powers. The Green Dragon, a power once used for evil but then used for good, the White Tiger, a power created from the White Light of goodness. The White Falcon the winged lord of the skies. The Red Zeo Power, one of strength and agility, Red Lightning the speed and swiftness of Turbo, and finally the Black Brachio power of Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water. These powers were wielded by your father and they were wielded with conviction and strength and the will to protect others, all qualities you share with him, this is his last gift. The question is do you believe you’re ready?” Ninjor finished presenting the Master Morpher to Jenna.

Jenna then looked around to see Jason Lee Scott, Billy Cranston, Zack Taylor, Trini Kwan, Adam Park, Rocky DeSantos, Aisha Campbell, Tanya Sloan, and Katherine Hillard, and Justin Stewart standing around her including her mother. They’ve all been Aunts and Uncles to her, she had grown up idolizing her father wanting to be like him. “I am ready,” Jenna said with determination evident in her voice. She was handed the Master Morpher and the power surged through her, sparks of Green, White, Red, and Black coursed along her body. The feeling was impossible to describe. She was in Ranger form, the Green Ranger form to be exact. She removed the helmet and she took a second to look at it and happy tears went down her cheeks. “Thanks Dad,” she muttered before wiping the tears away.

The others cheered for Jenna and her mother went up to hug her. “He’d be proud of you,” Jason said as he and the others joined the hug, and Ninjor couldn’t help but join in.

Everyone parted and they teleported to the Oliver house to celebrate. It was a spur of the moment party but it was one of the rare times that Jenna got to see so many of her extended family all at once. Then Jenna noticed a cloaked figure approaching, everyone else did too. The figure lifted his hood revealing Psycho Green, “I’ll handle this,” Jenna said as she stepped forward.

“The daughter of Tommy Oliver,” said the Psycho Ranger.

“You have no right to speak his name,” Jenna said, “It’s Morphin Time, Green Ranger Power Dragonzord,” and she morphed and readied herself.

Psycho Green fired energy blasts from his dagger, but Jenna countered it by playing the Dragon Dagger’s flute to form an energy shield, she walked towards him and he eventually attacked with Jenna blocking easily and countering with a kick. Psycho Green then started using his speed, and Jenna reacted accordingly by taking out the Master Morpher and saying, “Shift into Turbo, Red Lightning Turbo Power,” and she changed Ranger form to Turbo Red. She used her own speed to match Psycho Green’s and she hit him so hard he fell to the ground full stop.

“Let’s finish this up, Dino Thunder Power up,” and she changed to Dino Thunder Black, “Brachio Staff,” she said unsheathing her weapon, “Energy Orb,” she made a circle with the Brachio staff and sent it towards Psycho Green and it enveloped him causing so much damage he exploded and Jenna turned away as the Psycho menace was no more, striking a triumphant pose.

This wasn’t just her first battle but the beginning of a new legend.

Command Center…

Training Room…

2 weeks later…

Jenna punched the hologram in front of her and kicked the other two in quick succession. Then five more materialized and this time Jenna decided to make things interesting with a little Hip-Hop Kido that her Uncle Zack taught her. The way Zack described Hip-Hop Kido to her was both defending yourself and having fun at the same time. He was right, dancing mixed with martials arts was a great combination. Jenna had been training hard on the weekends and focusing on schooling during the week. One of the most important things Tommy taught her was to find a balance between training and schooling. Tommy kept up his training but was also able to get his Doctorate in Paleontology.

Jenna defeated the last of the holograms and the training session ended. She was tired and sweaty but she wouldn’t have it any other way. The door to the training room opened and in walked Alpha 5 with a towel and water bottle in hand.

“Well done Jenna,” said the robot.

“Thanks Alpha,” Jenna replied taking the towel wiping the sweat off her face and taking a sip of water, “Anything unusual to report?”

“Nothing at the moment, things are as peaceful as they can be in Angel Grove,” Alpha said, “But never the less you must keep your skills sharp.”

“I know,” Jenna replied, part of her loved the quiet but another part of her wanted something to happen so she could kick some butt and take some names.

After returning home for a shower and change of clothes Jenna headed to Ernie’s Juice Bar and Youth Center. After helping build bridges in the Amazon and losing a lot of weight Ernie returned to Angel Grove and got back to running the Youth Center, giving kids a safe place to have fun and enjoy themselves.

When she walked in she saw Jason teaching a karate class, Farkas ‘Bulk’ Bulkmeyer and Eugene ‘Skull’ Skullovich were helping Ernie run the place when they weren’t working as patrol cops for the Angel Grove Police Department. Those two goofballs had come a long way from being buffoons to being well rounded adults thought the buffoonery is still there but it’s part of their charm, and maybe being turned into Chimps helped their intelligence.

“Hey there, she is,” said Ernie as Jenna came up to the bar.

“What’s news Ernie?” Jenna asked.

“Same old, same old,” Ernie replied simply, “So what will it be the usual,” he said getting Jenna’s favorite smoothie ready.

“Yes please.”

“So how are things?”

“I’m fine let’s just say a part of him is with me,” Jenna replied knowing what Ernie was wanting to talk about.

“Good to know,” Ernie said serving the smoothie.

Then the building shook, Jenna, Jason, and Zack looked at each other and nodded.

“Bulk, Skull, get the kids to safety,” Ernie said.

“On it,” they both said and helped get the kids to the basement.

The three rangers ran outside and saw a variety of minions the veteran Rangers have fought over the years. Putties, Tenga warriors, and Cogs, “Well we’ve fought worse,” Zack said.

“True,” replied Jason as the three took out their Power Morphers. “Ready.”

“Ready,” said Zack and Jenna.

“It’s Morphin Time.”

“Dragon Zord.”

“Mastodon.”

“Tyrannosaurus.”

The three of them were in Ranger form.

“Ready Jenna?” Jason asked.

“I’m ready Uncle J,” she replied and Jason smiled under his helmet.

“Alright, lets go,” the Red Ranger said and the three charged.

Jenna split kicked two putties and punched two Tengas out. She then looked to Jason and a Cog was coming up behind him, “Jason look out,” said as she ran towards him and jumped, “Going airborne,” she said as she jumped and kicked the Cog across the street and the robot shattered into pieces of gears and wires.

Zack was holding his own as always, mixing his hits with his dance moves and having a good time in general. Jenna and Jason backed him up and they easily mopped up the bad guys.

“Okay this is confusing, how could minions from the past show up here in the present day?” Zack asked.

“I don’t know but we better get back to the Command Center and see if we can find anything out,” Jason replied.

“Smart,” said Jenna as the three were covered in beams of light made of their Ranger colors and shot up into the air.

They made it to the Command Center, Kimberly, Trini, Billy, and Alpha were there waiting for them. Kim went and hugged her daughter, “Are you alright sweetheart?” Kim asked even thought she knew her daughter could handle herself as she saw on the Viewing Globe, but it didn’t mean she didn’t worry.

“So Alpha, any idea what could’ve caused this?” Jason asked referring to the sudden appearance of past minions that the Rangers had fought in years passed.

“It might be a minor distortion in the time stream,” Alpha answered.

“For the last few hours Alpha and I have detected various distortive events across the galaxy, it didn’t hit Earth until just now,” Billy said.

“Okay, so what do we do now?” asked Jenna.

“We wait, we’ll send a message to Time Force, and see what they have to say, but for now I recommend going about things business as usual as you humans would say,” Alpha 5 responded.

"Sounds good, keep us posted Billy,” Jason said.

“Affirmative,” replied Billy.

Later that night…

Alpha was running a systems check when a blinding blue light flashed before him, “Aye yi, yi, yi what could cause such a distortion,” he said as the light cleared and the cloaked figure who stood before him was a miracle, “It can’t be.”

Angel Grove High…

Jenna was sitting in class waiting for the final bell. It’s been quiet since yesterday; Alpha hasn’t contacted her yet and she might be getting a little anxious. When the bell range and she exited the school her communicator beeped, she went to a secluded area and answered the call, “What’s up Alpha?” Jenna asked.

“Jenna you must come to the Command Center,” Alpha 5 urged.

“What’s going on?” she asked.

“It’s better if you see for yourself.”

“Alright then,” Jenna replied before cutting the communication and teleporting to the Command Center.

When she entered she saw that Jason, Trini, Zack, Billy, Kimberly, Aisha, Katherine, Adam, Rocky and Justin were there along with Alpha and someone else. “Guys what’s going on?” Jenna asked.

“You must be Tommy’s daughter,” the cloaked figure said removing his hood revealing a head with blue colored skin and turning around revealing Zordon of Eltar.

“Mom, is that?” Jenna asked in disbelief at who was standing before her.

“It is sweetie, Zordon is here,” Kimberly replied having already shed those happy tears.

Jenna was speechless all she knew about Zordon was from the stories her family would tell her when she was younger. She was told about how wise and selfless he was, “How is this possible?”

“The distortion in the time stream allowed me the opportunity to escape the Time Warp Rita had trapped me in so long ago,” Zordon answered.

Jenna knew who he was referring to, none other than Rita Repulsa, the first major menace the original team fought, and the twisted witch who turned her father into her puppet. She was surprised to hear that she had turned over a new leaf and atoned for her mistakes as the Mystic Mother when she regained her magical powers.

“It’s an honor to meet you Zordon,” Jenna said.

“The honor is all mine Jenna,” Zordon replied.

When Jenna and Kimberly returned home she was still astounded at the presence Zordon had around her and the other Rangers. “That was something I didn’t expect,” Jenna finally said sitting down on the couch in the living room.

“I’ll say, the last time I saw him he was a floating head in a tube,” Kimberly replied causing the both of them to laugh. She sat down next to her daughter and Jenna rested her head on her mother’s shoulder.

“What’s wrong sweetie?” Kimberly asked knowing that something was troubling her daughter.

“Do you think Dad made the right choice in choosing me?” Jenna asked, she had been thinking about this for a long time, “Did he choose me just because I was his daughter?”

“No he would not have chosen you if you weren’t up to the task, he knew you had what it took to be a Power Ranger just like I do,” Kimberly reassured her daughter as she held her close.

“Thanks Mom,” Jenna said.

“No problem Jenna, now let’s stop worrying about that and get movie night started.”

“That sounds good.”

Angel Grove Cemetery…

At Night…

Zordon walked towards Tommy’s grave, when he felt Tommy’s sacrifice through the Morphing Grid he felt immense sadness. When Zordon reached the grave he knelt down and clasped his hands and said a prayer in Eltarian, “<Tommy, thank you for all you have done for the galaxy, you were the greatest example of what a Power Ranger should be and your Daughter will make you proud. The Power will always Protect you.>”

Then the Mystic Mother herself appeared, “It’s been a long time,” Rita said.

“Rita, or should I say Mystic Mother,” Zordon replied bowing to her in respect for his former adversary.

“You humble me Zordon,” Rita replied bowing to him as well.

She then left a flower in front of Tommy’s grave out of respect for the fallen Ranger. “Part of me feels responsible for his death,” she confessed.

“He made his choice,” Zordon replied.

“But I’m the one who forced that life on to him for my own wicked purposes,” Rita replied.

“Yes, but that was all a result of your father’s hold on you,” Zordon said referring to Master Vile and the way he corrupted his own flesh and blood.

“How can you say that after what I did to you?”

“Because I forgave you a long time ago Rita, and you’ve forgiven yourself.”

“Thank you Zordon,” Rita replied.

“Well I best be off,” she said returning to her sanctuary, leaving Zordon alone.

He took one last look at Tommy’s grave and left him to rest knowing that his daughter would carry on his legacy.

Chapter 4

“I first saw him at a martial arts competition that Jason was participating in, it may sound cliché but it was love at first sight,” Kimberly said recounting the first time she met Tommy. “It wasn’t until the next day I officially met him, he scared off Bulk and Skull with a display of his Martial Arts skills, the look on their faces were priceless,” Jenna laughed at that. This wasn’t the first time she was told this story but she didn’t care, she loved hearing it. “We introduced ourselves and I was nervous, but he had this warmth about him that just made me feel relaxed.”

“He had that effect on people,” Jenna commented knowing that first-hand about her father, he was so down to earth that you could come to him about anything and he’d help you out.

The two were spending time in the park, sitting at a picnic table close to the spot where Kimberly and Tommy shared their first kiss. Jenna spent the day with her mother and she told her many stories she had heard before about her father. Jenna loved hearing those stories especially now that he was gone, these retellings kept his memory alive. It was dark by the time they got home, “Mom,” Jenna said.

“What is it sweetie,” Kimberly replied.

“Thanks for today, I really needed it,” Jenna said and Kim smiled embracing her daughter. Jenna let out a sigh releasing all of her troubles.

“I’ll always be more than happy to tell you those stories no matter how many times you ask.”

“Thanks Mom, those stories make it feel like he’s here in some way.”

“He’ll always be with us,” Kimberly reassured Jenna. She then kissed her forehead and went to get ready for bed.

1 Year Ago…

Tommy’s Funeral…

“Jenna, it’s time,” Kimberly told her daughter.

Jenna nodded and got up from her seat to walk to the podium. She looked around the room, there were so many people there, so many that her father had known. She looked at the picture of her father on display, took a deep breath and looked to the audience to begin the speech she had written.

“Tommy Oliver was many things to so many people, he was a Teammate, a Power Ranger, a Leader, a Mentor, a Paleontologist, a Hero, a Husband, and to me a Father,” Jenna began, “Over 3 decades he has been selfless, driven, heroic, loving, caring, and he never once strayed from his principles. When it came time to put himself on the battlefield or teach a class of High School Students,” that got a chuckle from a few in the crowd, “He did it with dedication and conviction. When I was little and had a nightmare he was always the first one to come an check on me, and hold me while I calmed down, his embrace made me feel that everything was going to be alright,” Jenna wiped away a tear, “He was everything you could ever want in a Hero, a Husband, and a Father,” Jenna let the tears slide down her cheeks as she finished up her eulogy, “I love you Dad, I hope that wherever you are, you are watching over all of us,” She then placed her hand on the coffin, carved into it were each of the Power symbols he had adorned over three decades as a ranger, and on the sides carvings of his Zords, and some of his greatest triumphs over Evil, including defeating Goldar after his Green Ranger Powers had been taken away, to marrying Kimberly and holding Jenna for the first time just after she was born. “This isn’t goodbye because I know that I’ll see you again someday, see you around Dad.”

Present Day…

Jenna was getting ready for the day, she looked through her closet for a jacket to wear when she came upon her father’s green hoodie. After getting dressed she put it on, it was a little oversized but it made her feel like Tommy had his arms around her and that had a warmth that could never be described.

Meanwhile in Silver Hills…

In a secret underground lab an old enemy of the Time Force Rangers emerged from cryo sleep.

“The time has finally come,” the mysterious villain said, soon I will have my revenge on those pesky Rangers,” he activated a small army of Cyclobots, “Soon the name Frax will be uttered in fear across time and space. He then proceeded to laugh maniacally as his lab came to life.

Chapter Text

Jenna was chilling at the Youth Center when Minh Kwan entered. Happy to see that her best friend had returned from her semester abroad Jenna got up and hugged her.

“It’s good to have you home Minh,” Jenna said.

“It’s good to be home Jen,” Minh replied, “I’m sorry I wasn’t here for the Anniversary.”

“It’s fine, I had plenty of support,” Jenna said knowing that what she was referring to was the Anniversary of Tommy’s Sacrifice.

“So you’re a Ranger now,” Minh stated.

“Yeah, but don’t worry I’m still the same Jenna you know and love,” Jenna assured Minh.

“I know that it’s just…”

“You thought we’d become Rangers together,” Jenna said knowing what Minh was going to say having grown up with her.

“Yeah, but I’m happy for you and never think otherwise,” Minh replied with no hint of resentment in her tone.

The two best friends left the Youth Center and headed to the park. The two were sparring when Z-putties appeared. “oh come on one day without Putty attacks, that’s all I’m asking,” Jenna said.

“Well when have villains ever given heroes a day off,” said Minh.

“I hate it when your right sometimes,” Jenna fired back playfully as the two got into their fighting stances. “Remember go for the Z on their chests,” she reminded her friend.

“Right,” said Minh.

The two friends easily dealt with the Putties when Nimrod one Zedd’s monsters from the past appeared, she immediately grew to giant size.

Trini and Kimberly teleported in just in time, “You two okay?” Trini asked hugging her daughter.

“We’re fine mom,” Minh replied.

“Ready for your first Megazord battle?” Kimberly asked Jenna.

“Do you have to ask,” Jenna quipped, “It’s Morphin Time, White Ranger Power Tigerzord,” once in Ranger form she pulled out Saba and asked, “Saba are you ready to go?”

“Ready and willing,” the sentient Sword replied.

“Alright, let’s do this, Tigerzord Power Up,” she said and then the four of them heard the familiar roar of the White Tigerzord a Zord of strength and fierceness.

“Here it comes,” Minh said excitedly as Jenna leapt into the air landing on top of the Zord.

“I won’t lose this time,” Nimrod said as she fired bolts of energy at Jenna and the Zord.

“Getting a little warm out here, I’m going inside,” Jenna said entering the Zord, “Alright, that’s much better, White Tigerzord convert to Warrior mode.” The Zord transformed from Tiger mode into Warrior mode.

Kimberly, Trini, and Minh watched from the ground in awe when Zack, Billy and Jason teleported in not wanting to miss this.

Jenna sent Nimrod tumbling down, “Saba I want the Tigerzord to follow my every move,” Jenna commanded.

Jenna used everything Tommy had taught her to keep Nimrod off balance, “Alright time to light things up,” she said grabbing the thunderbolt orb from behind her and placing it in the slot, “White Tiger Thunderbolt Armed and ready,” she announced, “Fire,” and bolts of lightning shot out of the Tigerzords’  chest damaging nimrod further.

Then Nimrod summoned her assistants AC and DC, “Oh crap,” then she remembered, “I need Mega Tigerzord power now!”

The others saw the Firebird, Griffon, Unicorn and Lion Thunderzords coming to combine and form the Mega Tigerzord turning it into an unstoppable behemoth. “Alright Saba same as before every move.”

“Of course,” Saba replied.

Jenna with the power of the Mega Tigerzord made easy work of Nimrod and her minions, “Time to finish this up, Firebird Thunder blast,” Jenna said as she fired the Firebird Thunderzord and bathed it in the white light of the White Tiger Thunderbolt, destroying AC and Dc first and then Nimrod, “Say goodbye Nimrod you’re history.”

The other Rangers gathered at the clearing behind the Command Center as Jenna leapt down from her Zord and powered down, returning to her regular clothes. She joined the others and it was all hugs and pats on the back all around especially from Minh, “Jenna that was awesome,” Jason said.

“I agree there,” Kimberly added.

“Affirmative,” said Billy.

“I’ve never felt like that before, it’s like I knew how to use the Zord immediately,” Jenna replied in wonder.

“You’re not the only one who was in that boat,” Zack said, “When we first used our Zords it was like second nature to us.”

“That was amazing what you did back there,” Jason said proud of his goddaughter for making her father proud and proving to be every bit of the Ranger he was and even more. Unknown to them a new Morphin Master was watching over them.

“Alright I think it’s time to call it a day,” Trini said.

Everyone but Kimberly walked towards the command center when she felt a presence, she looked around but didn’t see anyone thought the presence felt very familiar and she smiled because of that, “Mom, everything alright?” asked Jenna.

“Yeah, everything is fine,” Kimberly replied catching up and putting her arm around her daughter.

Chapter Text

Swords clashed, Jenna wielding the Zeo Power Sword and Jason wielding his Power Sword. The two were training just outside of the Command Center. Jenna surprised Jason by elbowing him in the stomach causing him to stumble back.

“Good,” Jason said and they made their swords vanish, “You’re improving.”

“No, you’re just getting old,” Jenna quipped and Jason laughed.

As the two of them sat down to take a break and sip some water Jenna said, “Mom told me when Dad became the leader, you two had butted heads.”

“We did, I let my ego get to me for a little while, but Tommy kept coming to me for advice, whenever he needed help or even just a pep talk I was there for him like he was for me.”

Many Years Ago…

“Jason, I honestly don’t know if I can lead, Zordon never said anything about me becoming the new leader, I’m sorry if it caused friction between us.”

“It did, but even I have to admit that my ego got the better of me, now if you ever need advice or just someone to help I’m there for you.”

“Thanks Jason.”

“No problem Tommy.”

Present Day…

“Tommy always came to me when he needed guidance not just on being a leader but when he proposed to your mother,” Jason said.

“Really,” Jenna replied.

“Yeah, he was nervous I just told him to not think about it and just do it and your mom said yes the second he proposed,” Jason said fondly, “I had never seen either of them so happy at that moment, only topped when you were born,” he said putting his arm around her.

Jenna smiled at that, hearing stories about his father from the people he fought alongside with made it feel like he was there in a way. It left a comforting feeling in Jenna’s heart remembering her father and celebrating him when the opportunity presented itself.

They were later called to the Command Center, “What do we got Alpha,” asked Jason.

“Billy and I have found the source of the time distortions,” replied Alpha 5.

“The source is located in Silver Hills,” Billy said, “and that is not all, the one behind this is an old enemy of the Time Force Rangers, Frax.”

“Isn’t he that robot guy with the weird claw hand?” asked Jenna.

“Affirmative.”

“Alright let’s not waste any time and get over there.”

“I’ve already contacted the others they will meet you there along with the Time Force Rangers,” said Alpha, “Good luck Rangers.”
