    When a Hobbit hosts an overnight guest it is customary for the host to fulfill any and all needs(even the sexual needs) of their guest(s). Bilbo had 13 dwarfs taking residence in his smial overnight and although the shock of the time made him unable to carry out his hostly duties at the time that doesn’t mean that he should delay it any longer. So while the company rests and recuperates at Rivendell Bilbo is determined to finish upholding his duties as a host.
