Chapter 5: Chapter 5

Chapter Text

Dean read the paper furrowing his brows at the thought “Cas, get down here I need your help” he said before a fluttering sound entered the room. “Yes?” Castiel asked looking at him. “You heard about this?” Dean asked point to the paper. Castiel stared at him for a moment. “Yes. There is word in heaven that something major has happened…” Dean glared at him. “Stop reading my thoughts. No, about these little girls being abducted? And then that guy found in those caves?” He asked looking at Castiel who instantly took the paper and began to read. He looked at Dean “I’ll return.” He left and Dean looked confused “What the hell Cas.” He sighed and got up going to cook breakfast.

Sam was sound asleep beside you in your room. You’d both stayed up talking last night after you refused to tell him about the random “headaches” you got. Sam encouraged you to talk to him about different things, and before you knew it, you’d both fallen asleep against each other. Gabriel stood at the foot of the bed and slowly waved his hand, your head fell against Sam’s chest as his arms wrapped around you. Gabriel smiled, he may not have had the power to help you get your memories back but he did have the power to push you and Sam together again. He just had to get his hands on a bow and arrow from a cupid.

Dean was cooking when Castiel came back, he stared at Dean. “We have a serious problem. Where’s Sam?” he asked as he headed for the library but stopped. He looked down the hallway and then turned going that direction. When he opened your bedroom door he stared at the sight before him. Sam and you were wrapped up together sleeping soundly. Dean came up beside him and stopped in his tracks. “Whoa, didn’t see that one coming.” He whispered staring at you guys. “I did. The sexual tension was thick between them” Castiel said before turning and exiting the room. He went to the library and began pulling books. “What are you doing?” Dean asked following him. “Dean, what you’re reading about in the papers is only caused by one thing- or one immortal Goddess I should say; her name was Persephone, she was the Queen of the Dead. If you’ve read through the stories, the children who keep going missing are picking flowers when they disappear. That was how she was taken by Hades. He and Zeus had set up a trap one day as she picked flowers, when she reached for this one, the earth opened and Hades kidnapped her taking her as his bride. Though Demeter, her mother fought it, Hades never changed his mind, but they came to the agreement of letting her spend most of the year with her mother and then part of the year with him.” Castiel said “Makes sense about the guy being dead in the cave, she hates men, she thinks they’ve abused and betrayed the women of the world. They aren’t worthy of being held as high as they are” he added before looking at him. “Heaven says there’s this threat coming, and if history and legend serves us correctly, then we should be hearing from another Goddess right about now….Hera, the wife of Zeus, the Queen of Immortals. They’ve raged in war for centuries with each other” He said as Dean sighed.

“So what does all this mean?” Castiel shrugged “They have to find their true vessels before they can actually go to war with each other, and that would mean Earth would be destroyed. We cannot let this happen. Even if it means killing their true vessels Dean.”  Castiel said as Dean raised his eyebrows. “Cas we’re supposed to protect people, not kill them.” Castiel shook his head “I’m going to do some research on my own, fill Sam in. This is important Dean. If these Goddesses really are out there searching for their vessels, they will find them and they will kill them. But worse than that, they can call forth for more Gods or Goddesses to be released and fight alongside them.” Castiel said staring at him. “These are literal Gods going to war. Get Prepared.” And with that he was gone with the flap of his wings. Dean turned and saw Sam sneaking quietly out of your room. “Morning!” Dean said grinning. “Get your ass in here, we’ve got a case…and its one that’s going to take all our man power” Dean said turning back into the library and grabbing some books.

You were up and dressed and had just finished making the girls lunch and were headed to get them when you overheard them talking. “Sammy, Daddy and Uncle Dean have told us before that when they leave to go on hunts uncle Cas and Uncle Gabe will take care of us.” Mary Ellen said as Samantha sat there. “But what if the werewolf hurts them?” She asked. Mary Ellen shook her pretty blonde curls. “That won’t happen, do you know how many monsters Daddy and Uncle Dean have killed. Vampires, Werewolves, shapeshifters, angels, demons, witches, and that’s just the beginning.” She said grinning proudly. “You always worry when they leave, stop talking about it” she said before going back to playing. You waited a few more moments before walking around the corner. “Girls, lunch is ready” you said smiling at them. They grinned and took off for the kitchen.

You walked to the library and told the guys their food was ready, as Sam followed everyone, you stopped him and looked up at him. “I need to talk to you about the girls…” You closed the library doors and walked over to a table. “I’m not sure what you guys do for a living, and really it’s none of my business. But I don’t think you should be feeding lies to your children.” You said looking up at Sam who watched you closely. “I don’t lie to them” he said sitting down after offering you a chair. You sat down and crossed your arms on the table. “They said you’re leaving for a werewolf hunt soon” you said staring at him.

Sam sighed and leaned back looking away; he ran his hands through his hair before looking at you again. “It’s true, that’s what we do…we fight monsters.” He said quietly. You stared at him; his expression gave him away instantly. He was telling the truth; you shook your head and listened to him explain everything to you.

Sam stared at you after telling you everything, he was worried that you’d run off or you’d be angry with him. You simply nodded and looked back at him. “Try to keep that information from the girls, I’d hate for them to get nightmares or worse from it” you said standing up and walking toward the doors. “Your lunch is waiting for you in the kitchen”

Persephone sighed as she released the little girl and sat back in her chair closing her eyes. She wiped the sweat from her body; she was getting tired and this was the third body she’d burnt through already. She needed to find her true vessel as quickly as possible. She pulled together the energy she needed and began to chant a Greek spell using a cup of water; the water began to boil, once the bubbles disappeared, an image of a brown haired little girl appeared, she was smiling as she ate a peanut butter and Banana sandwich. “Is that good Samantha?” a woman asked smiling at her. The little girl beamed and grinned nodding happily. “God you really are Sam Winchester's daughter” a man with short light brown hair said laughing.

Hera had done the same spell knowing she needed her true vessels body before she could defeat Persephone once and for all. As the bubbles disappeared, she smiled staring at the image of a pretty blonde girl with pig tails grinning at a man with longer brown hair. “I love you Mary Ellen” He smiled. “I love you too daddy” She grinned.
