"You're staying with me. Forever," Peril whispered in Clay's ear. She was right, of course. He would never leave her, he couldn't ever leave her. Even if it meant she burned everything except him, she'd do it. Anything to keep him with her. She would never be alone again. She didn't care what she had to do, or what other dragons thought of her. 

 

She pulled Clay into a fierce kiss. He kissed her back for a second, but when he tried to pull away, Peril didn't let him. When she finally let him go, he was gasping for breath. "Peril...what...why did you..?"

 

"Why did I what? Kiss you? Because I love you, silly. Because you're mine." 

 

"I- I have to go. There's a school assembly later, and I have to find Tsunami," Clay said, starting to walk away from her. He'd only made it to the cave opening before Peril had stopped him, standing in front of the door and spreading her wings. A small IceWing behind her, who'd probably gone looking for Clay, accidentally ran into her. Bursting into flames, the dragonet let out a wail before turning to ash. 

 

“Here, why don’t you let me go get her? You just stay here.” Peril said, not even noticing the dragonet she’d just killed. She turned, stepping over the pile of still-smoking ash, and slipped out of the cave into the corridor. She'd left a wall of flames in her wake without realizing it, effectively trapping Clay inside and everyone else out. 

 

She stalked through the halls of Jade Mountain until she found Tsunami alone in her chambers. Peril entered without knocking, surprising Tsunami. 

 

"Oh," Tsunami said. "Hello."

 

Peril tilted her head at her, her pupils glowing white like flames. "You think you can take my Clay's attention away from me?" 

 

"Wh-what?" Tsunami stuttered. "I didn't-I wasn't-what are you talking about?"

 

"You know exactly what I'm talking about. Apologize for your mistake. Now."

 

"No way. I didn't do anything wrong. Clay's like a brother to me, and I'm not going to apologize for talking to him. Especially when the school is involved."

 

"Then you can burn," Peril growled, pouncing and pinning Tsunami underneath her. The blue SeaWing started smoking, her royal scales turning to ash under Peril's claws. She choked on the smoke in the air, suffocating as she burned. Once all that was left of her was a pile of grey dust, Peril turned around and walked out like she didn't have the blood of one of JMA's founders on her talons. And technically, she didn't.

might do a part 2 where peril burns the school down with help from a "friend."
