UPDATE NOVEMBER 5, 2025: This page is a bit outdated. I am currently working and compiling on the lore of my inkling OCs in MS Word. I will update this chapter with new and updated information once everything is ready!
Inkling OCs Info
So my two inkling OCs are idols. My headcanon is that they are the idols for a non-existent Splatoon game (I like to imagine it's Splatoon 2.5 since I imagined that they are idols of another part of Inkopolis, probably a downtown section). Because of this, I decided to give them English localization version of their names and the JP version of their names.

This is the very beginning when I started drawing my OCs. I actually formed their character info on April 2023 and didn't draw them yet because I was simply too lazy. Anyways, I started drawing Epel because I had a better idea of what I wanted him to look like unlike Mesol, who at this time I did not even know what the shape of his hair should be.

So short backstory: On August 1st, 2023 I asked a Splatoon Facebook group to send me pictures of their inklings or octolings for me to draw as I was starting to get burnt out from drawing my OCs at the time and didn't want to fall into an art block. I was expecting maybe 5 requests, but it turns out I ended up getting 15 requests, LOL. Anyways it took me until Sepetember 11th, 2023 to finally finish all of the requests (Yipee!), so here are all of the drawings requested by the Splatoon Facebook group in chronological order; It has people's in-game inklings and octolings with a sprinkle of people's own OCs.

So this one is kind of a weird one. I browse through Pixiv sometimes and, of course, I do post my drawings, but it's not often to be honest. One of these posts are monthly summaries of my drawings, and I made thumbnails for them. Eventually I temporarily stopped doing summary posts (I plan to come back to it in the future hopefully), but I do just want to show them because why not? Also it might not see the light of day in the future.
Also kinda weird update but the past few months I've been contemplating on whether or not I wanted to post R18 content here. Eventually I came to the decision that I'm alright with it, but I'm going to hide it behind a Poipiku link since personally I'm not too comfortable blasting it directly on here (I'll show a cropped version though). However, since Poipiku follows Japanese laws, I have to do good ol' censoring via bars (lol). I have an R18 drawing of my OCs that I did back in October, so I added it there.

I'm really satisfied with how my drawings for the start of 2024 turned out. I didn't feel like that I made a lot of duds like I always do. Basically I felt more productive about my drawings, lol. Though drawing might slow down now since my classes are about to start again.
I'm going to try something different for a while; Just going to use harder lines and try not to dwell over the messiness (I noticed my left wrist starts to strain if I continue to draw over or focus on making clean lines).

So same story as last time: I asked a Splatoon Facebook group to send me pictures of their inklings or octolings for me to draw (round 2!) I got more than last time, but I managed to pull through and finished it. It was a lot of work, but I felt like I learned some things when drawing with the new brush I found.
Notes:
While doing requests I managed to order a RaiGo keychain from a Japanese artist I follow (haaaaaah...)! Unfortunately it's not going to be delivered where I'm at (delivery is more complicated if it's going to me) so someone will be holding it for me in another country. I don't care if I have to wait for a long time; I'm just happy I got it (aaaahhhhh)!!!

I've been so tired this month since things are getting more difficult and exhausting (I blame thesis), but I wanted to go and mess around with coloring and actually finding a way to do it without feeling extremely lost, and I think it clicked in my head for the most part. Painting is REALLY fun, but it takes time, and unfortunately I do not have that much of that at the moment. ( ಥ﹏ಥ ) I need to get better at doing hard lines though...

This is a character from The16_BitMan's work, "We Call Him 'Big Guy'" (Kelp). I used her as one of my painting experiments and it's been going awesome so far. This shows the initial draft (left) and the rendering progress so far (right). I did a time lapse of a section of a painting process (embedded above).
My squid (sketch and final product). This is actually based off of my setup in real life (and the usual status of my body, lol). He'll be chilling in a corner of any future time lapse videos from now on. I never really do time lapses since I'm too aware that I'm recording and I typically pause drawing multiple times. I'll try actively doing some from now on to work on those problems.

Due to that I haven't really drew anything for weeks and it's been making me feel bleh since I've been in an all-work-and-no-play situation until now. Got busy for the most part due to traveling for Christmas but I somehow managed to draw! It's not much but it's enough for me for now. Also I hopefully I get time to actually draw more of and flesh out my OCs (no time to write them out and the ideas/information are being held hostage by my mind); I guess that will be my New Year's resolution for 2025.

I also got an acrylic stand of them. It's been sitting on a small shelf next to my laptop and it makes me happy... (*’∀’人) ♥

I am finally updating closer on time. This month was, for the most part, focused on experimenting, mainly because I just want to get better at drawing things I like. Anyways, I finally have enough free time as I type this so I can draw more Splatoon-related stuff, at least for today. ╭( ･ㅂ･)و ̑̑
This is a paint test. I basically painted over the draft (bottom). Top drawing is the result.

Just wanted to share this because it means a lot to me: I got my first ever art book from one of my favorite Splatoon artists. Sometimes I look through it and even though it costed a kidney (thanks, shipping and handling), I am glad the first ever art book that I own is about RaiGo, lol. Truly a historic milestone for me... This was pretty late this time. Last month (and ongoing) I've been extremely busy trying to finish up uni stuff. Unfortunately I've only turned on my big laptop a total of 3 times in April since I was out so much, so almost all of my drawings are done in those LCD boards where you can draw on a screen that's based on pressure and you can clear it with one button (they are easy to take on the go). This is the short free time I have as I make this summary, so I will be quick. :P
(Also sorry if the pictures look bad. Since the board is LCD, you really can only hope for the best lighting and angle when taking a picture of it.)

Very sorry for the late update. In May I was very focused on my finals for university, and after that was done I was mentally burned out (everything worked out since I passed!). I used only a single page on my sketchbook because of the lack of time I had and the brain burnout, so it is the only picture I have for May.

I also bought merch from Japanese Coroika fan artists that I follow (there was a convention in May). These are the keychains I bought! I also bought doujins, though I don't have pictures of them. I can't take any at the moment, so I'll share them on the next chapter. :D

Wow! I actually updated on time for once. I did most of these within a span of three days because I was out for most of the month, and my hand was itching to make something as soon as I got home. Also the theme this month is that I remembered that I can paint.

This is Kelp from "We call him 'Big Guy'." Regarding the top picture, the left drawing was done first. I was trying out a brush and was trying to do the typical steps of Sketch ➡ Line (Worst part, in my opinion.) ➡ Flat Colors ➡ Shading, Highlighting, etc.. However, I never really clicked with that for all these years, and I ended up disliking how the drawing was progressing, so I gave up. XD
Then I started drawing the one on the right. Obviously it's a clearly different process which I much prefer: Sketch ➡ Paint Under Some ➡ Paint Over The Rest Of The Drawing Until It Looks Good ➡ Refine. It takes a while to do it though, so my brain got too tired to continue painting. I vastly prefer this way because I personally find it less stiff and easier to control. I also recorded it (see above). :)
The one on the left is Coral from the same work (the one on the right is just an extra character I made up on the spot to make this drawing). I want to think in the past Coral was able to indulge in a little fun (even if life in the Octarian Army sucked).

Unfortunately I had too much to do on July (you can tell by me updating this more than 2 weeks late ( ´△｀)) since I was getting ready for my graduation, but I am oddly okay with it. I think it's because I don't really have any complaints or grievances with the only two doodles I did that entire July (I usually pick apart my stuff afterwards). ( ๑’ꇴ’๑)

Today I actually updated within the first week of a month. I want to draw more of my OCs, but the thing is I am trying really hard to actually build up the lore and improving upon it while it still makes sense (I am bad at writing and too good at sidetracking (︶︹︺)). If I manage to ever finish it, I will update the lore on its chapter. Anyways, my wish is to have more time to myself! I want to go back to the days where I regularly played Splatoon and also happily buried myself in my hobbies for long periods of time.

Sort of memo drawings of Emperor and Prince to see if I can still draw them (thankfully, I still can).
My squid. This was drawn on an iPad that I recently bought. Used the same program. I wanted to see if I like drawing straight on a screen. The lesson I learned is that I am definitely only going to use my tablet to draw if I don’t have a choice in a situation, like if my laptop is out of reach.
My Squid (Again)
Something that I did on the side while (attempting to) cook something big. This is Kelp from "We call him 'Big Guy'." I usually have too many random thoughts bouncing around my head during the dead of night, and one of the words/phrases that I thought of was: "Visual novel..." and then the next day I did a character portrait mock sheet with all the emotes and stuff like what you would see in a visual novel game. I want to do the rest of the characters next!

Hi, so this was a really late update for September, but it wasn't 100% because I was busy.
Something tragic happened to me on the first week of September. I don't want to get too much into it, but it basically mentally stricken me to the point that I didn't have it in me to open my laptop, pick up my pen, and just...make something. I didn't have the willpower to do anything, especially since I'm also academically burned out.
It was so hard. It still is, but today I have a tiny bit of willpower to update this. Even typing this is hard for me.
So yeah, I'm still feeling it now more than a month later, and to be honest I think I will continue to feel this way for, at a minimum, a very long time. I think I just got through the worst part of it, so I'll try not to get it in the way of drawing too much, though that may prove difficult. I barely had anything in September since what happened occurred early into the month. For October's update it will also be mostly the same and not have much. Also updates will most likely be delayed, at least for the time being.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
For now I'll go play Splatoon to participate in the Halloween Splatfest (still Team Ghost).
P.S., I didn't get to draw my own OCs in September since I was focusing on typing up an actual intelligible lore outline (halted after what happened to me), so none of them are in this chapter.

This is my interpretation one of the characters from UnevenOrder's The Forgotten Songs, Lalius. I made a painting-like concept first because...I simply felt like it, haha. I was supposed to finish it, but I couldn't because of what happened to me. When I was still painting it, I also drew the drawing below it.

Most of these were drawn very far apart time-wise. ｢(ﾟﾍﾟ) I wish I was more consistent like in the past! But right now I'm thankful I had the time and energy to make something despite the struggles. ( ･ㅂ･) Also, October was the month of testing a brush which I ended up really liking.
I wanted to squeeze out at least one drawing of them. I'm sort of on an art block with them, so I hope I have both more time and inspiration. _(´ཀ`」 ∠) _

I was supposed to paint, but then I ended up sidetracking and doodling.
A sort of Halloween postcard I made for The16_BitMan, but I think it's already November 1 around the world at the time I post this chapter, so this is late, sorry!

These are some of UnevenOrder's characters from The Forgotten Songs. Specifically I drew Lalius again because I need to git gud at the general shape of the fish hair, and then I drew Eunice's face on the first try because why not, so I can't guarantee it's final.
Notes:
On October I bought a bigger ita bag for my RaiGo fan merch, not only because I wanted to release an acrylic print of them that I've been owning from the jail that is my desk but also because I wanted everything to be neatly inside the clear portion of the bag and not dangling around messily outside of it. Also for the clear side pocket, I was hoping to fit four squids in it (two blue and two green), but I could only fit three. Too bad!
