Chapter Text
You continued to hold onto the poor woman, this poor Impet, as she bawled her eyes out whilst hugging you. You had been holding her for only ten seconds, but she had still been bawling. And who could blame her? Millie was many things, but invincible or unstoppable were neither of them. Not when the wound dealt to her was emotional. She could tank a round or two, get her foot caught in a bear trap, suffer blood loss and so much more. But losing someone? That was the killer. That was how you brought out this side of her. And that was what you had been trying to help her with, as you two sat side by side, watching as the coffin of your best friend, and her husband, Moxxie, was laid to rest. Blitz was sitting with you two, his own eyes glossy as he sniffled and tried hard not to cry, but it was evident he was gonna break. Loona, Blitz’s adopted daughter, and pride and joy, too look distant. Her eyes, once cold, were weary and seemed lost. She had no scowl on her face, just a look of regret. You all were dressed for the occasion, dark suits and dresses, watching as the service took place. Normally a Imp couldn’t afford such a thing, but thankfully that was what having a Goetia lover was for. Stolas observed the procession, his mood low as he could sense just how important Moxxie was to everyone. And it just made him upset he couldn’t do anything to help them.
It was time to leave, and everyone went to say goodbye for the last time.
This had all begun just a week ago, on this day where you, Moxxie and Millie were together on a mission. As expected, Blitz was bitterly disappointed when M&M chose you over him to go, but he gave up and sent you all on your way. Now at a camp searching for one of the consoulers who was responsible for his death, you three struck out and quickly found the poor bastard alone before axing him off. It was glorious watching Millie sliced them to ribbons. After which, you three returned with smiles on your faces, and hearts swelling with pride. You were a team. Near unstoppable. You made the money.
Then it happened.
