Chapter Text

“I never lied if that’s what you’re worried about. First to draw blood means anyone, what matters is you’re first.”

Wednesday willed her heart not to swoon at the attractive pout the wolf displayed, priorities needed to be met.

She snapped her fingers, signaling Thing to attack. It was quite funny watching Enid stumble around trying to avoid stepping on him as he swings his weapon, she was obviously holding back.

Shame.

Wednesday sighs her weapon lowers just like her guard once again.

“You can forfeit, if you’re uncomfortable with this.”

Enids wolf recoiled at the tone, the flashback of her parents during her childhood forcing her to commit to activities she didn’t like just because she couldn’t wolf out yet.

Esther’s voice scratches the back of her mind like an irritated open wound,

“No Enid, I’m not leaving you home just because the other kids are a little bigger then you and play rough. You’re a wolf so act like it. “

Acting was the problem, she had always been uncomfortable with her wolf, or more specifically The standards for her wolf that certain behaviors were needed to be down right exaggerated sometimes.

The constant disgust with her lack of primal behavior had always earned her certain looks, the runt wasn’t an ease title to erase when you failed time after time to shift.

Her hands swipe down to grab Thing, disarming the hand she throws his blade towards Wednesday, who dodged it with little effort.

Enid merely used it as a distraction, her steps already taking advantage of the seers lowered guard to sprint behind another line of tombstones.

There’s a single gunshot that whirls past her as she witnessed it shatter the corner of another stone.

She knew Wednesday too much, obviously she probably has the skill to land a strike but she can’t do it. It had to be someone else, her wolf wouldn’t allow her to actually attack her mate even if it was for a family challenge.

Enid ducked behind a much larger Addams crypt, her fingers squeezing Thing tightly as she held him hostage.

The realization that she could win if she sliced open one of his stitches never dawning on her adrenaline filled brain, instead she interrogated him.

“What’s Morticia’s thing?” She needed information to understand the best strategy for who to go against, especially since she wasn’t here for long. Everyone’s abilities were rather new aside from what she recalled the dark roommate sharing during their time at Nevermore.

The lion certainly gave her a heart attack, werewolf blood or not.

Thing struggles to sign properly, Enid shifts him, holding him firming in her hands trying to understand his stuttering gestures.

“What?” She asked.

Her body freezes up at the cool metal of the gun barrel pressing against her neck, Wednesday voice coming out low,

“I believe he was saying behind you.”

Enid’s claws react on reflex at the jump scare, the blades of her tips sinking into Thing, his stitches giving at the applied pressure as he once more struggles to properly sign with the new pain. The wet coat of his blood briefly paints the under of the wolfs nails.

Wednesday huffs loudly, a piercing glare at Thing, “I knew you’d be a liability.” She lowers the weapon, “congratulations, Enid.”

“Wait what? That’s…That’s It?! Thing counts?”

“Yes,” Wednesday speaks slowly her brows furrowed with confusion at Enid’s disbelief. “First to draw blood is designated towards anyone that’s an Addams.”

Enid’s stare had the raven trail on with further examples, “My family Enid, which includes my uncle fester, grandmama, or any other individual in the vicinity who carries the title.”

“Are you telling me that your uncle and whoever else in your family is potentially here could’ve gotten me And you chose to deceive me by saying it’s just me and your dad?”

“Well,” The ravens defense is cut off as the wolf is lifted off the ground, the thick green vine coiled her ankle tightly in a bind, dragging her away.

Wednesday sends a brief glance to Thing, “Suppose we should inform them Enid’s challenge is over.” Thing signs stiffly,

“Yes Thing, obviously before mother gets cleopatra involved.”

Notes:

Ya know they should’ve gave Thing some armor as protection.

Shame the other Addams don’t know enid won yet, let’s see if Enid can survive until willa gets there to announce it.

Or maybe she’ll let them torture enid a little, cause ya know

It’s nice to have a werewolf in the family again.

(Thanks for reading my nonsense!)
