Or I love sheriff Jimmy angst and I was having a bad day.

Work Text:

Jimmy hated the toy jokes. He had made that obvious multiple times, but they never stopped. So, he ignored them for the most part and sometimes laughed along with the others. He could deal with it most days, but some days it was nearly impossible.

Today had started out bad. Jimmy ended up staying awake all night and doing paperwork. He knows he should have gone to sleep but if he did, his brain would get to him. If he was left alone with his thoughts, then who knows what will happen. Jimmy does know what will happen. Once he had finally gone outside, It was obvious someone had broken his creeper farm. Jimmy spent most of the morning bringing creepers back to the farm and killing some that wouldn’t work with him.

Joel’s not here. Jimmy pointed out to himself while brush red sand off his pants, maybe he’ll leave me alone today. As if on cue, a loud “SHERIFF” could be heard across all of Tumble Town. “Fuck. I just had to jinx it” Jimmy mumbled under his breath. Once Jimmy returned to his house, Joel landed next to him. The sandy ground was kicked up when he landed. When the small smoke screen of sand died down, Jimmy was coughing from the sand getting in his mouth.

“Hello Joel” Jimmy said in a monotone voice. Joel scoffed and went on a rant about Jimmy needing to put more gunpowder in the wagon. Once Joel finally shut up, he flicked Jimmy’s hat off his head. The hat landed in a pile of sand. “Come on Woody, go get your hat” Joel said, if Jimmy wasn’t so sleep deprived, he would have noticed the playful and joking tone in Joel’s voice. Unfortunately, to Jimmy’s tired brain it sounded more like a threat.

Now, Jimmy wasn’t too small. He was about average height, but Joel was a ‘god’ and was taller than average. He was only slightly tall enough to block some of the light from the sun and lean over Jimmy. He was no where near 11 feat like he would tell everyone, but he may as well have been in that moment. With his hands slightly shaking, Jimmy picked up his hat and brushed off the sand.

“Don’t touch my hat” Jimmy hissed as he put the hat back on. Joel rolled his eyes and continued to make jokes about Jimmy being a toy. The sound of Joel speaking was drowned out by Jimmy’s thoughts, fuck. He just kept doing work to shout them up. No one respects you because you don’t deserve it. No one would care if you died. They already don’t. Everyone just laughs at your stupidity. Jimmy blinked a couple times and tried to block out his thoughts and focus on whatever Joel was saying.

Suddenly the world became less blurry -when did it get blurry- and Joel’s face was in front of Jimmy’s. He could see Joel’s mouth moving but could hear any words. Joel stood back up and stretched slightly. “Fine, if you’re just going to ignore me, I’ll leave. No-one likes a useless toy” Joel said before leaving. Joel flew up in the air before stopping and turning to look at Jimmy, who hadn’t moved. Joel made a face then left, choosing not to think about why the sheriff was ignoring him.

See Joel thinks your useless. So does everyone else. No one lives here so no one needs you. You can just die. Once you die everything will be better. You’re just a burden to everyone. Jimmy felt like he wasn’t in control of his body as he began to walk to his Gunpowder wagon. He grabbed his communicator and began to message Shelby,

You whisper to Shelby: Do you need any gunpowder or anything? I need potions.

It doesn’t take too long before Shelby responds,
Shelby whispered to you: Yeah, I need some. What potions do you need?
You whisper to Shelby: I need about two of every potion.

Shelby takes a bit longer to respond this time. While waiting Jimmy opens the wagon only to see that it was fully stocked like he guessed. Joel fucking lied. The sound of Shelby responding scared Jimmy and got rid of the rest of the blur in his vision for a minute.

Shelby whispered to you: Ok, I should have enough for that. Can I have four stacks of gunpowder.
Shelby whispered to you: also, I’m not at my empire atm. I’ll be back later so you can just put the gunpowder in a chest.
You whisper to Shelby: ok thanks.

Jimmy grabs the gunpowder and starts to walk towards his portal. It feels like his body is on auto pilot as he walked into the nether. The nether roof was as empty as ever, it only had some carpet that led you to everyone’s portal. You should just die. You can turn your game mode to hardcore. No ones going to respect you. They never will. Tango likes Fwhip more than you. Even the hermits wanted to leave you.

Soon Jimmy was in The Evermoore and at Shelby’s potion tent. He ended up grabbing two of every potion except weakness -which he grabbed 3 of-. He then placed a chest down with the gunpowder and began to walk back home. The fog in the distance covering the trees that swayed in the breeze looked tempting. Shelby did say that the fog kills people. Jimmy snapped out of that thought quickly, he already had a plan.

This plan had been created since the Hermitcraft/Empires crossover. Drinking every potion was dangerous, people who did it had a person near them in case things went sour. Two of every potion though? No one has ever been recorded to survive it. It’s just too much magic for a person to handle. Even Shelby using the potions to cure Cub was dangerous. She originally was too scared that it would kill him. Listeners -and watchers- are known to be tough, they are harder to kill. But a weakness potion makes them around the same strength as a regular player.

The sun was starting to set when Jimmy finally got back to Tumble town. He walked into his office where Norman had been waiting for him. Norman always got food from other emperors and came home for dinner. Jimmy slowly went through the motions of getting Norman his food. As Norman ate, Jimmy sat by his side patting him. It would be his last time with Norman.

“I’m sorry Norman” Jimmy mumbled into the cat’s fur as he picked him up after he had finished eating. Tears began t fall down his face as he finally felt in control of his body again. Jimmy sat on the floor hugging Norman and crying until the stars shone through his windows. He stood up and walked over to his house.

Once Jimmy was in his house, he went straight to his room and not eating anything. He opened his chest closet to is bed and took out many pieces of paper. They were all addressed to everyone he met, and he sat down near his window. Taking a deep breath, he took out all his potions and put the papers in a pile. First, he took a weakness potion before using his listener magic to open his code.

Fwhip got a message as he turned his game mode to Hardcore.
------
Fwhip was startled awake by an alarm going off in his room. Someone had messed with the code. Not someone, a listener. He quickly rubbed the sleep out of his eyes and opened his admin panel. “What?” He whispered to himself. A listener had seemingly got onto the server and turn Jimmy into hardcore mode.

As much as Fwhip was mad at Jimmy, he couldn’t leave him on hardcore. He began to try and put Jimmy back in survival until the Listener magic stopped him. Before he could try again another alarm went off. This one telling him that Jimmy was dying. I can’t turn him back to survival. Fwhip grabbed his elytra and quickly flew to Tumble town. On the way, Fwhip could feel his communicator buzz from people messaging. Please don’t let it be true.

Once he landed in tumble town, Fwhip began to call out to Jimmy while running to the sheriff’s house. The door was left open. He ran inside still calling out Jimmy’s name, as he looked around the house slightly. Nothing seemed out of place, if anything it was so neat it looked like a show house. Soon he got to Jimmy’s room and opened the door. He didn’t care to knock as he entered the room before freezing.

Jimmy lay on the floor in front of his window with what seems to be almost 30 empty potion bottles, a pile of notes and Norman under his arm. Jimmy’s chest doesn’t look like its moving. Fwhip runs over and tries to find Jimmy’s pulse only to fail. He finally checks his communicator and is shocked by what he sees,
JimmySolidarity has completed the challenge A furious cocktail
JimmySolidarity was killed by an overdose

Fwhip looked at the pile of notes and through his tear blurred vision saw his name. It was written on one of the notes in somewhat messy handwriting. Fwhip grabbed it and sat next to Jimmy’s lifeless body like it would bring him back to life. He opened it and read the first few lines before having to stop to process it. It was a suicide note. All of the notes were Jimmy’s suicide notes to everyone he knew.

It took Fwhip a while to properly read through his note. Fwhip felt horrible. He thought that Jimmy was joking when he said to stop the jokes. Guilt formed in Fwhip’s lungs until it felt like he was choking. He sat on the floor next to Jimmy’s lifeless body with his head resting on his leg. Norman still stayed under Jimmy’s arm and meowed at the dead body. Fwhip sat there ugly crying until the next morning when someone would find him.
