A New Way

Chapter 4: Married Life (Pt 2)

Chapter Text

After a couple of minutes, Yuki exited the bathroom wearing a fresh uniform accompanied with natural make up to finish off the look. She came towards me with a smile, twirling herself to show off her charms.

"So Kiyotaka. What do you think?" She asked me about my opinion with an anticipated look. Waiting patiently for my answer

"I must say, you look quite good wearing the school uniform." It was the truth. If looks could kill, she would be facing a life sentence.

"Hehe~ Of course I look good! I have to look the best for my dear Kiyotaka." Her mood seemed to have increased tremendously when she heard my compliment.

"Right... (2x) That's enough with the chit-chat. The food is going to get cold at this rate. Come, let's eat together."

We both took our seats at the table where the plates of food is situated. Sitting ourselves on the cushions I provided. As I opened the silver cover, the mouth watering aroma filled my small dorm. Enticing a drool from my fiance.

Cute...

This is the kind of behavior you'd see a small child would do. Which, funnily enough, unironically fit the description for her, from what I've observed these past few days.

Multiple times I've been exposed to childish teasing and being openly made fun of my very monotone face. I could compare this with the Ayanokoji Group. But still pales when it comes to Yuki.

You see, when the girl who teases you knows alot about your past to point where it could be considered childhood friends standard by a few others roast's you. It hits where it hurts the most.

The other thing I've noticed is that she's really open in showing her affection towards me in public without any fear. She's so bold in fact that social anxiety is afraid of her.

Even at the Whiteroom, she was the only one during the curriculum, who managed to keep her emotions. While I applaud the willpower and positive outlook. It was however a weakness in that harsh environment. Which was ultimately one of the main reasons she dropped out. However in this completely new environment where social skills are needed to negotiate and form alliances with other people from other classes. She was a highly valued player in the long run.

I've seen her do regular talks with other people in the class without any nervousness at all. I was impressed with how she quickly integrated herself in class hierarchy so easily and efficiency. It wouldn't be farfetched to say that her ability to adapt in a situation is now comparable to that of the likes of past Shiro. She didn't lose much of her touch with her skills at all. In fact it was a huge improvement.

One time I asked her about how to deal if a sudden terrorist attack were to occur at he campus and how she would react. At first she would first discern the danger level of the hostiles before planning out her next moves. When it's completed, based on what she could gather.

If the terrorists are heavily armed and trained she would just stay passive and not do anything irrational to jeopardize the safety of the other students and herself. Instead, waiting by quickly informing the teacher as subtlety and quietly as she can, letting law enforcement to arrive and deal with such a threat.

Now here's where things get interesting. If the terrorists were under-prepared and have little to no training she would done things differently. First she would carefully escape from the group undetected when they are not paying attention. Having the school layout memorized she would outmaneuver the terrorists into a more favorable position for her. Taking out hostiles one by one, using any means necessary. Until there but only a few left confused at the radio silence from their communication devices. Essentially forcing the terrorists to experience guerilla warfare.

Sun Tzu, in his The Art of War, was the earliest to propose the use of guerrilla warfare. This directly inspired the development of modern guerrilla warfare. Communist leaders like Mao Zedong and North Vietnamese Ho Chi Minh both implemented guerrilla warfare in the style of the famous Chinese General and Strategist. Notable uses of guerilla warfare was during the Vietnam war which occurred in the same time as the Cuban insurrection led by Fidel Castro against President Batista, both occurred during the mid 1950's. And the most recent and ongoing of them all is the War in Afghanistan. It is an armed conflict that began in 2001, led by the United States invaded Afghanistan, declaring Operation Enduring Freedom as part of the earlier-declared war on terror, toppling the Taliban-ruled Islamic Emirate. It was a response to the famous September 11 attacks. Which completely changed the world's procedures and classifications on terror organizations.

To put in simply, what I'm trying to emphasize here is that those hypothetical terrorists I mentioned that attacked the school, would have met their demise at the hands of a 16 year old girl. Which I can validate to, since I've experienced first hand the activities in the Whiteroom.

"Kiyotaka... Can we get the prayer over with so we can start eating? I can't take anymore of this torture." Said girl was now pleading for me to give her the go ahead to continue.

"Well alright. Sorry for zoning out there." I apologized before we both uttered a quick prayer before we dig in.

"Itadakimasu..."

"Itadakimasu... Alright! Let's eat!" Yuki exclaimed before begining to absolutely devour her plate quickly getting wanting seconds shortly after. I haven't even gotten the chance of taking my second bite.

I forgot to mention that she has an insatiable hunger leading her to love my cooking. Which I'll admit, it feels nice being genuinely appreciated for something you can do. Three months of training really paid off for me. I got myself a way of saving points. Don't they always say, happy wife happy life? Well in this case it's a happy fiance.

"Kiyotaka, can I get seconds? It's just you cook really good, which makes me want for of your food. Your meat tastes so good!"

"Sure, but don't eat too much. I wouldn't want you to gain weight now would I?" I decided to try my hand at teasing. Since I would spending alot of my time with her, I best figured to have our relationship closer with one another.

"That's a really rude thing to say to a girl Kiyotaka. Girls are sensitive about their weight you know? I can't have you go and try to tease to a girl, only to offend them because you can't understand social norms. There's a fine line between teasing and straight up insulting them straight in the face directly."

"Hm" I tilted my head confused at the sudden scolding from Yuki. Prompting the girl to sigh helplessly at me which only managed to confuse me even more.

"I sometimes wonder how your such a genius yet you can't get the most basic things to know in a social activity such as a conversation. Oh who am I even kidding? Your the last person to know about being a socially capable."

Should I be offended on that even though everything she said was the actual truth. Though I didn't think I was that 'BAD', am I? I mean sure being turned into a lab rat by your own Father for a experiment to create the perfect human does have it's cons. But come on! Cut me some slack. The first time I've had any other human interaction that wasn't for a test in past 10 years other than Matsuo, was that time when I first met with Horikita at the entrance when I just first arrived here. Even then the first time we met was not on good terms as well, so I have to give Yuki merit to what she said.

"Hey. Hello! Anybody in there? Your monologuing again again Kiyotaka. Seriously..." She shook her head in disapproval before continuing to eat the food on her plate.

"Sorry about that..." I apologized profusely for my mistake. There have been multiple times where Yuki reprimanded me for going into so called 'monologues' about trivial things to increase the word count, whatever that means.

We both sat in a somewhat comfortable silence for a while as the only ambience in the background was the sound of a wall clock clicking.

Tick tock! Tick tock!

Anyways.... Oh right. I should probably continue where I left off on my recollection. It starts during when I was introducing Yuki to the class. It was where most of my headaches came from.

-----------------------------------------------------------

"EHHHHHHHHHHH!?"

The entire class exclaimed at the same time with eyes widened, jaws dropped, surprise and disbelief are written on all of their faces. Trying to get their heads around the announcement made from the supposedly new classmate.

"Ain't no way! Him!? Out of all people, him!?"

"Kyaaaa! Their engaged!? That's so amazing. I want to be engaged to someone as well."

"Yea... Especially to Ayanokoji. Damn that woman..."

"What did you just say Satou?"

"Nothing! Hehehe"

"Hm... Suspicious"

"That gloomy faced guy got engaged to a cute girl like her!? Man I'm so jealous..."

"Wow... Take a good look at her figure."

"Maybe I have a chance with someone else... If Ayanokoji could do it. Then so can can I!

"Bro shut up. Stop daydreaming about something that will never happen. In fact? It's absolutely hilarious to think you'd ever get a chance with someone."

"L + Ratio + plays League + no showers + dogwater grades + touch grass + never felt the touch of a woman other than his mom + sit your maidenless ass down + kys."

"He's already dead bro!"

"Damn you cooked him."

"He's not cooked man! He's straight up disintegrated!"

"Someone call law enforcement because that was a murder! He's gone, there's nothing left of him..."

"I wish I was Ayanokoji man...

"Right? Like what kind of bullshit is this!? He's so lucky!"

I am not lucky, quite the opposite actually. Because the attention I'm getting is comparable to hell. No doubt about it, even the sadistic devil Chabashira is chucking at my suffering to complete the experience. Ah I can already see the things I have to deal with when this spreads to the other classes. Especially class C, Ryuen is not going to let me go unscathed.

I turned my head to check Yuki, only to find her giggling to all of this chaos. They all just kept asking me questions after questions, added with remarks to how true her claim was about being my fiance. Not giving me any room to breathe.

"Excuse me everyone can you please listen to me for a second? I know you all have a ton of questions for Ayanokoji, but can you all do it in a orderly fashion or else your just going to overwhelm him."

Just then my savior came to pull me from this dire situation I've been put into against my will accompanied by despair. Hirata was quick to calm the situation down with his charm.

"Fine..."

"Ugh we get it..."

"Alright Hirata-kun..."

Thank you Hirata for the nice save. You are one of the only few people who actually cares for me. I am forever grateful for your help.

Now then, let's get this over with.

I turned to face at Chabashira with a with a serious look that I can muster. She sighed but chuckled in amusement understanding immediately what I was trying to suggest. I wasn't the type of person to do something without any backups. But desperate times call for desperate measures and those measures include asking for help from a sadistic demon.

She coughed, clearing her throat and gaining the full attention of the students before begining to speak. With a loud volume she started by addressing everyone in room. "I know you all are very curious on Ayanokoji and the reason behind this sudden development. So I've decided that you all are going to have to raise your hands quietly while I choose who will go first. Since this is taking my schedule, I don't wanna hear any complaints or else I'll call off the questioning and we can continue with homeroom."

As Chabashira finished, multiple hands immediately shot up. She began scanning which person to pick to have their questions answered.

"Horikita, since you are the class leader. It would be fitting for you to go first. You may go ahead and ask your question to Ayanokoji and Yuki" Our homeroom teacher stated.

"Thank you Sensei. Ayanokoji, I would like to ask about the sudden development. Why now? And what is the reason for it"

"It was a agreement back from both our parents to secure my future on a specific path." I answered vaguely, hiding bits of information to protect my past from prying eyes. This should be appropriate enough for her.

"I see, thank you for answering my question."

"Now to you Tsubaki. Can I ask to tell the class more about yourself in a proper introduction? So we can find out more about you.

"Hehe~ I don't mind! Well let's start it off by saying my name is Yuki Tsubaki as Ayanokoji said earlier and I am his  fiance. Just as he said, our parents had an agreement to have to the two us engaged together from reasons I can't disclose unfortunately. My age is 16 and I absolutely adore him." She wrapped herself around my arm and winked towards the class. "Must I need to tell anymore?"

"So cute!" A few of the boys thought.

"No that is all. Thank you for answering my questions" Horikita then proceeded to sit down as Chabashira began to choose the next person to go next.

"Kushida, your next. Please stand and ask your question"

"Alright! Ayanokoji-kun how long have you been engaged to Yuki now and how did it occur?"

"It was just very recently when I was called to the faculty by Chabashira-sensei. Where I met Yuki waiting there." I lied naturally as I breathed.

"Oh! You must have been surprised by how sudden it was then?"

"I was infact surprised. There was no warning at all. It kinda just happened."

"I see. I have another question if you don't mind."

"As long it's in our jurisdiction. Then it should be fine for us to answer"

"Ok! My question is how did you two meet?"

"Well.... It's complicated." I glanced at Yuki to call for help. She understood and took over to answer.

"I can tell you that. We meet in a strange way because of how strict our environment was. Since both our parents used to discuss business together. I eventually was introduced to Ayanokoji by my Father. As time passed we eventually became friends. But we parted ways a few months ago since Ayanokoji went to ANHS and I wasn't accepted here until now. Does that satisfy you?"

Well she isn't too far off in that story. We did grew up in a strict environment, her Father was an investor to that place, and we met because Yuki was enrolled there. The only thing is wrong is the last part.

"I bet you must've have been happy being reunited after so long. That's such a good thing for you two!" Kushida clasped her hands together and with smile congratulated us.

"Aw... We appreciate the kind gesture." Yuki replied in kind and received it humbly.

After that everyone took each of their turn in asking us questions.

"How does it feel being engaged"

"It hard to say because it just happened. But if we had to give answer, the experience is normal yet surreal."

"From your experience, does being engaged means you two have some exceptions to some rules?"

"No. We are still students of this school which means we have to abide by the regulations placed on us."

"How would you describe the dynamic in your relationship?"

"Unexpected. I act childish while Ayanokoji is serious to keep me in check."

"Have you guys done the deed? If so could you go about it in detail." Heads turned to glance at the boy who asked a questionable question. Promoting eyebrows to be raised and people to be disgusted.

"Of course not." The two of answered at the same time. Weirded out by the inappropriate question.

"Who's the bottom in the relationship-" She was cut off by a pair of girls covering her mouth and pulling her away. A majority of girls got embarrassed when hearing that question.

"Sorry about that! Girl you gotta keep those fantasies to yourself....

Hm... I leaned in to Yuki's ear and asked a question. Her face seemed to redden even more before answering 'You don't need to know that'. Leaving me with more questions than answers. With how reserved she acted.

What's the wrong with wanting to know what's a bottom?

Maybe it's about who's better between the two of us? Well obviously that would be me. I'm superior in every way if you don't account for my social capabilities.

Anyway after the Q and A classes resumed as normal, albeit with the two us getting side glances every few minutes.

-----------------------------------------------------------

3 hours later...

The bell rings, signaling the end of the first period and the start of lunch.

"That's all for the class this morning. I'll see you all later. Remember to take notes for the upcoming quiz this Wednesday." Collective groans sounded which was then followed by a chorus of acknowledgement before everyone stood up to bid our homeroom teacher goodbye.

"Goodbye Chabashira Sensei!" She nodded and left closing the door behind her.

"Man... I'm so exhausted, history class sucks. Too much to remember."

"Ong for real. What are adults expecting from kids these days."

"You do know this isn't some normal school right?"

"I know that, just want them to atleast cut us a bit of slack."

"So you can continue playing that one visual novel?"

"Bro why you seriously have to make fun of JHL (Junior High Love) is the goat of the visual romance genre."

"Nah... It's definitely KLR (Kill Love Repeat)."

"That yandere simulator? I mean it's decent, but JHL is still the goat."

"Oho! You can't forget about SIL (Siblings in Love)."

"Bro is crazy for saying that in public"

"He speaks the truth! A fellow cultured weeb."

"Preach!"

"PREACH!" (5x)

The girls in turn were disgusted by the cultured conversation a group of boys were having. Their unique taste came out wrong.

"Ew..."

"Yuck. So revolting."

"Degenerates."

"But SIL is actually good tho-"

"Shhh... Don't risk your social credit."

But they did not care about the insults. Instead just continued to preach about what they believed in. Truly they had been united under a single cause. Only if they has this type of coordination during special exams.

(A/N: I have no idea what and why I wrote at this part.)

"Hey Kushida let's go to the cafeteria."

"Yea come on let's go. Kushida?"

"Kushida...?"

The blond haired girl was in deep thought about their new classmate. Her ability to integrate was terrifyingly quick. And it might be a thorn in her plans.

If only she could find out about her secret and try to expel her. Moreover her evidence on the uniform has vanished, leaving her without anything against that monotone faced bastard.

AH! Just thinking about it is making her grow a tick on her forehead. Just even trying to keep a conversation with her is nauseating and makes the stomach wanna vommit.

So annoying! She's in the same standings as that raven haired bit—

"Kushida! Hello? Anyone in there?" She was snapped out of her thoughts from the voice of her concerned classmate.

"Are you ok Kushida? You had a frown on your face."

"I was? Ah... sorry about that girls. I was thinking about something. It wasn't important, I'm fine really. Let's go the cafeteria."

"If you say so..." They then left the classroom together to have lunch.

While they went to have lunch, I instead layed my head down on my desk to squeeze a quick nap in. I definitely need it after what happened a few hours ago.

"Kiyotaka-kun~ Hey are you there?"

However it seems I won't be getting my nap. As I hear the voice who is the main reason for my developing migraine calling out for me coming from my right.

"What is it Yuki?" I sighed, turning my attention to her.

"Let's go eat together in the cafeteria!" She exclaimed excitedly.

"Is it fine if I decline this offer? I brought my own lunch in my bag. Also I don't really wanna have to deal with attention that's going to be placed on us when the news spreads." I replied with a tired expression.

"Oh... That's fine. Let's have eat together in the classroom then. I brought my own lunchbox as well!" She replied, pulling out a pink cutesy lunchbox and turing the seat in front of me opposite, to face me.

"Great... That's splendid." I deadpanned and took out my blue lunchbox, placing it on my table.

"Hehe~ Do you hate this?" She giggled much to my helpless self.

"I don't see where you could ever get that idea from." I opened the lid as the appetizing smell of curry filled my nose.

Ah curry.... The staple of this country which everyone appreciates. A dish so humble, yet it stands as a culinary beacon for every Japanese soul. This was one of the first dishes I ate at the mansion, which was cooked by Matsuo. My first taste of this dish made me widen my eyes to the world of cooking.

Imagine, if you will, the aromatic embrace of rich, golden sauce enveloping tender morsels of meat and vibrant vegetables, all harmonizing in a symphony of flavors that caress the palate. You see, curry isn't merely a meal; it is the very essence of comfort, distilled into a bowl. It arrived on our shores, a gift from the British during the Meiji era, and in true Japanese fashion, we made it our own, crafting a version that is milder, thicker, and more delightful than its Indian ancestor. Each bite is a testament to our ingenuity, a culinary evolution that has etched itself into the fabric of our nation!

Now, consider the versatility of this divine creation. Curry is a canvas upon which one can paint their culinary dreams. Add tender chunks of beef or succulent chicken, toss in carrots, potatoes, and onions, or perhaps a dash of seasonal flair with kabocha or eggplant. The level of spiciness? At your discretion! And behold, the practical magic of curry— it can be whipped up in a jiffy and served in generous portions, making it the savior of busy families and individuals alike. It graces our school lunch trays, nurturing young minds with its warm embrace, ensuring that from an early age, we are all united under the banner of curry! Oh, how it becomes an unspoken bond among us, a daily ritual that is as ubiquitous as it is beloved.

Curry is the heart and soul of the Japanese home. Picture this: a cold winter night, the family gathered around the dinner table, the steam from a hot pot of curry rising like a welcoming mist. Each spoonful is a journey back in time, evoking the gentle care of a grandmother’s hand, the playful laughter of childhood days, the unwavering warmth of family. Curry is the culinary glue that binds us together, a dish that says, 'Welcome home' no matter where we are. It's more than just food; it's a legacy, a tradition, a beloved ritual that brings joy, comfort, and a hearty chuckle to our hearts. So, next time you savor that luscious spoonful of curry, remember, you are partaking in a grand tapestry of history and emotion, a dish that is, quite simply, the heart of Nippon itself.

Oh? It seems I'm getting the 'look' from Yuki. Did I monologue for too long again? Has the food gone cold?

Let me check..... It hasn't. False alarm everyone, instead it's time for me to dig in this fine piece of Japanese culinary. I clasped my hands together which Yuki noticed and replicated.

"Itadakimasu..."

"Itadakimasu..."

After the quick prayer, Yuki took her chopsticks and picked out a piece of meat from her lunch. Moving the food towards me and with the intent to feed me.

"Say ahh~" She sweetly asked me to open my mouth. If my calculations are correct, which it usually is. I should be getting jealous reactions from the boys.

"Damn it..."

"It should have be me! Not him!

"It's not fair!"

"Lucky bastard..."

There goes my chance to hit it off with the other boys in my class. I am fully certain that my standings in the hierarchy and that I am hated by half of the boys. Atleast a few seemed to support me with a thumbs up. (Hirata, Akito, Keisei, Sotumora)

Sigh...

"Ahh...." She spoonfed me the piece of meat. Smiling widely while she does so.

Chup~

"This is humiliating..." I muttered while chewing on the meat. Yuki then took a spoon and scooped a bite of curry.

"Kiyotaka-kun~ Open your mouth, say ahh~" I reluctantly did so as she placed the spoon in my mouth and I ate the curry.

If other class leaders see me like this... I would jump off the roof rather than deal with that hellish experience. I just hope this doesn't get anymore worse—

Bang!

The door slammed open with an unlikely group of people entering the classroom. It caused everyone to turn there heads to the cause of the noise.

"Where is that bastard!?" The magenta haired delinquent came in shouting.

"Ah... I really do think you should calm down for second...." A green haired student tried to reason his boss, with no avail.

"I don't like agreeing with this guy, but his right. Your going too far Ryuen." Ibuki added her support with Ishizaki.

"Shut up you two. I don't care, I have to see the lucky girl who got paired with that freak. Kukuku..." It's the tyrant leader of Class C, Ryuen.

"Oh Ryuen-kun. I didn't think I'd see you here."

"Huh? Oh it's Miss Goodie-twoshoes. What are you doing here in class D?" He sarcastically acknowledged the leader of B class.

"Well I heard that Ayanokoji-kun got engaged to someone and I came here to confirm it for myself."

"So we have the same goal in mind then. Just don't get in my way." Ichinose just smiled and nodded

Suddenly there was sounds of a cane tapping the floor. They turned their attention to the direction of the noise.

"Fufufu... It's Dragon-boy and his little minions. Coincidences can be freaky don't you say?" Another group arrived after Ichinose. It was someone who Ryuen despised.

"Arisu! Pleasure seeing you here." Ichinose greeted, which Arisu replied with her own greeting.

"Mhm... You as well Ichinose." The lilac haired girl smiled.

"Tch, your here as well loli." Ryuen scoffed, having a vendetta against the girl.

"Hello Ryuen. Out of everyone in this room your the most I want gone."

"Ooohhh how terrifying. What are you gonna do, bore me to death?"

"Why'd you think that? When you can't even understand a single word I'm saying because of your single digit IQ." She spared no time in insulting the intelligence of the Class C tyrant.

"Pretty bold coming from someone who can't even run"

"I don't need to run"

The two glared at each other intensely as the area around them seemed to darken with miasma. Ichinose could have sworn she saw electricity clashing between their foreheads.

"Oh? Showing off your relationship with your fiance in public now aren't you? As expected coming from the one and only person who could contend with Kouenji" Hashimoto called out to the two lovebirds who were feeding the other with food.

"Eh? Do you know him Ayanokoji?" Yuki who had stopped feeding me asked.

"Yea I do... And his pronouns will be was/were when I catch him lacking later."

God dammit Hashimoto... You had to do that didn't you? You couldn't just let me have my last moments of peace huh?

Now the three group's attention are on the two of us. Great just great, absolutely fucking fantastic. Fuck my life, fuck my luck, and fuck the being who allowed this to happen all in the same day. Fuck everything!

AHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Moving on from that, I wanna tell you guys something that happened to me. So recently I found that the person who made "Rolling Girl" died of a heart disease 5 years ago. Which made me a depressed because his music was the reason I started getting into vocaloid songs.

I kept scrolling YouTube until I found a video of  Wowaka's band mates performing together on stage as a tribute to him. That already got be on edge, what pushed me over was they were singing "Rolling Girl" and they looked like they were about to let the tears loose. Moreover the singing of the crowd was just too much for me and I balled my eyes out for a solid 10 minutes. Rest in Piece Wowaka... Thank you for everything that you've given us.
