Summary:

[YN] has dreams of having been down in Blacksite, but that is impossible, they couldn't have been here before, surely the dreams are from post traumatic stress from previous missions.

But the visions become stronger and [YN] managed to avoid the most perilous of monsters and events. And somehow all of this leads them back to one reclusive creature, Sebastian Solace, who's sarcastic and smart assery nature is like a breath of fresh air to [YN]. But there's something hidden in that strange personality he fronts.

Edit: I think only two chapters left to go and it is done.

The damned beeping again.

[YN] began to panic, lifting their lantern up to find the source of the beeping. There was also an obnoxious voice singing perhaps in Japanese on the radio the more they neared the noise.

The beeping increased in tempo and they grew confused. Until they realized some sort of audiotrack was playing in the dark.

The beeping was persistent.

Then it clicked, the beeping wasn’t coming from the incessant music…

It was their dive gear.

Their eyes widened and they turned to run but it was too late, the sound of an explosion was faint and their vision was an instant blackout. No more consciousness. No more awareness. No more fear or pain. Instant death.

The dream then changed and [YN] tensed in their sleep.

[YN] was running after their crew, hissing as they struggled to breathe from how fast they were going. They wanted to turn their head toward the green light in the waters, but they refused.

The same could not be said for one of their crew members.

They heard Winston screaming, one of the good guys they revered practically. And it was a scream of agony.  [YN] had entered through the door and looked back at Winston who was staring at the creature through the glass, screaming as blood ran down his nose and mouth. He was clutching his head and soon fell to the floor in a heap. [YN] wished to scream but no sound came out, they went to rush for him, but their Captain, codename “Falcon” had grabbed their shoulders roughly and pulled them back.

“Their brain is soup now, let's go!” He said it like it wasn’t a big deal.

[YN]’s anger flared and they felt something snap in their mind. How long had Falcon treated them like nothing? How long had Falcon given orders and didn’t care how many died in the process?

[YN] then bared their teeth and went to grab their gun and pointed it at their captain, but Falcon had been faster, aiming a gun at their head. A true Mexican standoff.

[YN] was shocked by the turn of events, their eyes widening at Falcon blatant betrayal and disregard for their existence. Even though they had pulled the gun as well, but they weren’t if they were going to actually shoot Falcon…right?

“Sorry [YN], nothing personal. But you can't be shooting at your captain, and you’re expendable, I’m not.” he said with a sneer.

POP.

Instant lights out. Head gone, no thoughts. Just darkness.

Another scene, [YN] was shaking now in their sleep and their crew began to grow annoyed in the submarine they were in.

[YN] was gripping Felix’s shoulder as he worked diligently on the broken generator in front of them. [YN] was starting to sweat as the searchlight creature above began to float towards them. [YN] dug their nails worriedly into Felix’s shoulder, warning him that it was close.

“I know I’ve almost got it!” He shouted.

[YN] then looked back at the searchlights one last time, shocked as the lights came barreling on top of them. When had searchlights gotten faster?!

Without thinking, [YN] then shoved Felix under the forklift, before they grunted.

A hook had gone through them.

Blood instantly splattered against the floor, not in large amounts, but it was clear [YN] had suffered a fatal injury, they had been hooked by the searchlights.

As they lost feeling in their legs they fell, before being yanked up into the air by the creature and devoured instantly. Felix screamed but [YN] was gone, instant lights out.

[YN] narrowly avoided a barrage of bullets from a nearby underwater turret as they followed the green signal lights underwater. They were the fastest swimming of the group and their crew was still a bit too uncomfortable far behind them, but they kept yelling over the walkie to keep going.

They had fixed the cables, they had avoided the searchlights, they had come so far and were going to make it.

They hadn’t noticed Lucy’s approach had been quicker than they anticipated.

[YN] then saw the platform and began to swim up quickly, reaching the platform and entering the room. They looked back at their crew, happiness on their face…

But it quickly diminished.

Lucy was on top of them, it’s foot raised to take one final step towards the platform, right where her crew was.

[YN]’s eyes widened, they frantically tried to gesture to look up, but [YN] was too far away. They tried to talk, but no sound came out. Only a hiss of air. They still hadn’t heal from their injury a month back.

Horrified and broken, they could only watch as the foot came down on top of them. There was no sickening sound, nothing [YN] could discern, but the rattling thump of a great machine stomping through the trench.

[YN] even saw dust kick up from the floor bed. They waited.

And waited.

No sound came through the radio. No forms came up to meet them at the platform. Not sound of cheers, congrats or jeers of happiness was there to greet them.

Just dead radio silence.

[YN] floated there, staring into the dark abyss.

They were dead. And [YN] was the only survivor.

But they had won hadn’t they? They could return. They could be pardoned.

But the crew…

It was all their fault.

Their breathing became elevated in the suit and without a word, they reached into their holster and pulled out their gun. In water the bullets would be slowed, but at point blank range, it would get the job done.

They cocked the gun, and squeezed the trigger without hesitation.

POP.

Instant lights out.

........

[YN] was startled awake by a crew member nudging them in the ribcage painfully and roughly which knocked them out of their seat.

There was a collective amount of laughter and [YN] winced and rubbed their eyes before they looked up to see Winston holding a hand out to them. [YN] gratefully accepted it, standing up slowly.

“Be ready, two minutes until docking.” Falcon said and [YN] merely glanced at him, the dream still fresh on their mind. They weren’t sure why they were having that dream in the first place. Sure [YN] disliked the crew. But it wasn’t enough to warrant shooting their captain.

But those monsters…that was a hell of a nightmare.

Before [YN] came here, they were accused of killing a intruder in their home and the media tried to spin it as [YN] invited them over and killed the man in cold blood, but it couldn’t be further from the truth.

Then Ubanshade caught wind and promptly took [YN] against their will and forced them to submit for these pointless missions.

Collect data, take pictures, take note of missing members. This had to have been what, their third trip? When was enough going to be enough, when was Ubanshade going to be satisfied?

The submarine rocked and [YN]’s heart jumped into their throat and they clenched their teeth. They didn’t want to go down with this sub.

There was a loud creak and the back hatch door began to extend and bend until finally it opened. They were in an underwater docking station.

“Remember, you’re expendable, but I’m not.” Falcon said and [YN] looked at him slowly, recalling him saying that from the dream.

But Falcon never said that before…

They exited the sub, Keeping a mental note on where their gun was holstered.
