Chapter Text
Peppermint Patty was fast asleep as usual, and it was close to winter break, so does it really matter? But she usually does this due to her waiting for her dad to get home at 2 in the morning, and usually Marcie has to wake her up.
Marcie taps Peppermint Patty on the shoulder, waking her up instantly.
"I'm awake!" She shouts.
This is how it usually goes and sometimes Marcie even balances things on her, usually on her nose, and maybe a funny quip by Marcie.
Later, when the 2 are walking home.
"Oh hey! I forgot to mention something" Said Peppermint Patty.
"What is it sir?" Said Marcie.
"My Dad told me that during the winter break, he'll be off from work!" Said Peppermint Patty, with a smile on her face.
Peppermint Patty and her father have a great relationship, they have a lot of fun together. He taught her mostly everything about sports. Despite this, they don't spend a lot of time as they like they would. Peppermint Patty's dad works in sales, and this job makes him work in the night. This is mainly caused by her mom being dead.
"That's great news, what do you two plan on doing?" Asked Marcie.
"Im not really sure yet, but I want this to be worth it." Answered Peppermint Patty.
As the 2 were walking to Peppermint Patty's house, they noticed something in the mail.
"Probably just some bill thing as usual." Said Marcie.
But it wasn't some bill thing, it was a figure skating letter.
Peppermint Patty began to read the letter.
"Dear Michael Reichardt, your daughter, Patricia Reichardt, have been accepted to compete in the Canadian figure skating competition. If you accept, your flight and hotel room will be payed by us. Pre Quarterfinal trials start on December 13th."
"Yes! I did it!" She said.
"Congratulations sir!" Said Marcie.
The 2 hugged.
"Wait, Canada, that Is far." Said Marcie.
"It is, but they're paying for it, so its fine." Said Peppermint Patty.
"So, you're going?" Said Marcie.
"Of course I am! This is the beginning for me to become one of the best figure skaters ever!" Said Peppermint Patty.
"Alright then, see you tomorrow." Said Marcie.
Peppermint Patty decided to put the letter on her dad's dresser in his room, and noticed a picture of him and her mother. They seemed pretty happy. Best not to think too deep right now.
Later, in the middle of the night.
Peppermint Patty's dad, or Michael, came home, and saw his daughter fast asleep in her bed. She would usually be asleep on the couch, watching tv.
After putting his stuff away, he went to his bed. On his dresser, he noticed the Canadian figure skating letter. He was happy that his rare gem got accepted. He then also fell asleep.
End of Prolouge.
