Chapter 1: The trojan war.

Chapter Text

Odysseus and his men sailed to Troy, with only one goal. Win and get back to ithaca. They took years trying to get in, but alas, they couldnt due to the Palladium being in Troy. Odysseus and Diomedes put on a disguise and entered Troy, with the help of Athena. Eventually, they stole the Palladium and built the trojan horse. Odysseus planned with his cunning mind, and eventually they raided Troy. Diomedes soon attacked Ares and Aphrodite, using Athenas blessing. Odysseus dropped Astyanax off of a wall due to Zeus’ peer pressuring. The brutal war continued, and eventually Athena noticed the Palladium was gone, weird, but that wasnt the main issue now. She needed to help the greeks win, and help some refugees. Athena let in some women, one of them was Cassandra. Soon, a few men including Little Ajax were let in, which was a.. rare occasion. Athena focused on winning, but when she turned her attention back to the men in her temple, they had raped Cassandra. Athena was FURIOUS. Odysseus caught wind of this, and even told them to kill Little Ajax because he pissed off Athena, out of all people. They still hadnt done that, because the war was still raging on. Achilles got shot in his only weak spot, the heel, by Paris, who was the start of this. Multiple soldiers were killed, food supplies drained. Odysseus had slaves in the war, but he let them free and gave them 1/3rd of his war spoils, having a sinking feeling they werent going to come home with him. The men in the trojan horse didnt die, luckily, so they had alot of men to keep fighting. The war took a toll on both the city and the soldiers, including the Gods. The war caused a bit of familial relationship straining, which of course, was normal, but it was a bit more strained this time. Ares and Aphrodite seemed to hate Athena more now, and Hera surprisingly.. got more along with Athena? Huh, weird, she doesnt like the children that isnt hers. But whatever. Athena told Ares and Aphrodite to not get involved with what shes doing, and Zeus seemed to agree with Athena, due to her being the favorite child. Ares got mad, and they fought. Athena won again, without getting hurt. She threw a boulder on Ares easily, defeating him. Aphrodite backed off, to avoid getting hurt too. Zeus, the manipulative father he is, acted ‘proud’ when really, he was just gaining her trust to betray her. Again. Now, you may ask, what do you mean by ‘again’? Zeus has betrayed Athena multiple times, but one of the times he back stabbed her, was the most concerning and took a HUGE toll on Athena.

It was when she was Young.

A tall, smart, yet childish owlet.

She was sent to Lake Tritonis to train, in Libya.

She made a friend, or her first love. Pallas.

But now, when she hears the name Pallas, she doubts herself and feels guilt, yet she never shows it. She felt remorse after that day.

She used to be so full of joy. So lively, and she still hadnt made her vow of chastity.

She sparred with the nymph Pallas, who was suprisingly as good as her.

Triton always made sure the two were safe, even treating Athena like his child.

Everything was going good, but nothing stays FOREVER

It was the day for a tournament, a day they had trained for.

The two sparred with skill, matching eachothers attacks with a block or dodge. Athena started losing, because Pallas was way more trained than her.

Zeus came, and noticed Athena was losing. He used the Aegis, the shield guiding the sun into Pallas’ eyes.

And then..

A squelch and cracking sound was heard.

Athena noticed, she had stabbed Pallas right through the chest with a spear.

No..

NO!

“PALLAS!!” Athena cried out, holding Pallas close to her, almost as if hugging her tight enough would bring her back. She sobbed and profusely apologized, holding Pallas in her arms. Pallas smiled weakly at her, before she died. Athena was heartbroken. She handed Pallas to Triton, who knew it was Zeus’ fault, but dared not to say anything. She blamed herself, her tears falling onto the cold marble floor.

Zeus then looked at her, almost disappointed.

”Daughter, cease these theatrics. No child of mine is weak. If you want to remain a child of mine, you must follow my every command and not be weak.”

Athena let out a choked cry, looking up at Zeus.

”Father.. I-im sorry..”

She tried to calm down, but it wouldnt work.

Zeus grabbed her chin and forced her to look up at him.

”Stop these dramatics, AND BE QUIET! Do i need to punish you?”

Athena looked at the ground.

”ANSWER ME WHEN IM TALKING TO YOU!” Zeus Roared, the sky was beginning to darken.

”Yes, father..” Athena said, wiping her tears.

The sky went back to a calm sunny day, and Zeus left.

That was the day she broke and took a vow of maiden hood.

Now.. back to the war.

The war continued, relentless attacks and hits coming from everywhere. Odysseus and his men didnt have a single casualty, which was impressive. Athena was sort of proud. Meanwhile, in Olympus, Apollo was healing Aphrodite and Ares from getting injured by Diomedes. More months passed, and now the war was over. Destruction happened, the fall of Troy happened, and Helen was rescued. Odysseus was eager to make it home to his family! But this was only the beginning of a new chapter.

Chapter 2

Summary:

Athena reflects on her past and we see Hades and Pallas today

Notes:

okay sorry for updating this on Sunday when originally i was gonna update on Saturday, but enjoy this new chapter

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

The war was over, soldiers started sailing home. The Gods were still in a conflict, but Zeus managed to calm it down to not cause too much trouble. Athena was still affected by the war, despite being a Goddess. It didn’t physically change her, but it did mentally. She learned to be more cruel and cold.
And she wondered..

why did it have to be like this?

Yes, she may have done wrong before, but she tries. It seems like the fates.. just hated her. She continued reflecting on her past, zoned out.

She didn’t have a mom- because of Zeus, because of his selfishness. She lost her love  friend because of him. And yet, she still cares for him. Zeus was never a real parent to her, only being nice to backstab her eventually. Arachne, a poor soul who was consumed by hubris, she had no choice, or Zeus might have done worse. Medusa, the priestess that Poseidon took advantage of. It seems like everyone she knew, goes away or just despises her. She doesn’t want to be alone, yet she was.

She just wanted to be normal.

But the Gods can’t. They’re supernatural beings with powers. They never can be normal.

And if she couldn’t be normal, she just wanted to be appreciated and happy. But her joy and happiness was stolen.

Hades walked around the underworld, humming to himself. He was checking on the souls regularly, especially those in Elysium. He walked around, but then he saw Pallas.

”Pallas, hello there.” Said Hades.

”Ah, hello Hades.” Pallas said, with the most respect she could. “If it doesnt bother to ask.. how is Athena doing?”

”I havent checked on her after the war, it seems like she’s more distant though. Im concerned.” Hades replied.

”Oh, i hope she is okay. Please, do take care of her. I want her to be okay. Even if im dead, i still love her.” Pallas said, clearly concerned about Athenas well being.

”I’ll make sure shes okay.” Hades spoke, before he left to go check on her.

Pallas looked around, and she felt uneasy. Something was changing about her, but.. in a good way? Was she.. coming back?

Chapter Text

Odysseus sailed home, his men way too excited to get back to Ithaca. Penelope had been waiting. And Polites, ever the optimist, said that ‘We’ll be fine’ when there was doubt. Athena aided him, as always. ‘Full speed ahead!’ Odysseus said, eager to see his wife and son.

But.

Things don’t always end well.

The crew, starved, complained to Odysseus about being hungry. ‘There’s an island.’ One of the mates yelled out, so Odysseus and some of his crew went out, scavenging for food.

The lotus eaters, hidden, spoke ‘Welcome!’ They got shocked, drawing their swords. Eventually, they found out they meant no harm. ‘Greet the world with open arms, it’ll reward you!” Polites said to Odysseus, hitting his shoulder gently. The lotus eaters gave them info for a cave. Odysseus considered for a moment-

‘Have you forgotten the lessons I taught you?’ A voice said, seemingly angry.

’ATHENA!’ Odysseus jumped back, startled.

She brought him into his past memories. The boar, how they met. Everything. ‘Don’t forget that you are a warrior of the mind, don’t disappoint me.’ She said, then quick thought ended.

They headed to the cave, a decision they shouldn’t have made.

All of his men walked in, after being called on to. They walked around, seeing the sheep and food they were promised.

But then..

WHO ARE YOU!?’
The voice shook the cave, startling everyone. Some men stepped back in fear, while others were frozen from shock.

The Cyclopes killed some of his men, breaking the rule of Xenia.

Odysseus, quick-witted and wise, tried to calm the situation.

That didn’t work.

They needed bribery.

So, he took a rich and smooth wine out from a bag, putting lotus in it, away from the Cyclopes’ view. A full proof plan, surely!
’Have a drink! One sip and you’ll understand, the power that’s in your hands! A wine so fresh.. you’d never wanna eat human flesh again! Then we shall be on our way, no bloodshed in here today.’

Yet there was already bloodshed, the dead men that Polyphemus killed.

Contradictory.

This was apart of his plan.

Polyphemus drank, appreciating it.

’I’d like to thank you.. stranger, what’s your name?’ Polyphemus got closer, inspecting the mortal.

‘My name is nobody.. nobody! No~body.’ Odysseus replied, making sure to hide his identity. Which really, wouldn’t matter soon.

The lotus set in.

Polyphemus got hostile.

’WATCH OUT!’ Odysseus dragged Polites out of the way.

Another fight. Great! Just what they needed.

Odysseus yelled out commands, guiding his men.

They were doing surprisingly well, for just 600.

That wouldn’t be keeping up to their luck. Your luck can run out, but it hasn’t fully yet for them.

They fought with all their might.

A club struck. A weak ‘captain’ was called out.

It was Polites’ voice, Odysseus froze, fear and guilt coursing through his veins.

’Youve hurt me enough..’ Polyphemus said, killing some of his men.

The lotus took effect fully, knocking him out.

Odysseus looked at him, anger stirring through him.

’Captain!’ Eurylochus called out, snapping Odysseus back to reality.

’I mixed lotus in his wine, but we must move quickly. The lotus can wear off anytime..’ Odysseus replied.

They sharpened the club with the swords, Odysseus’ commands were followed.

They stabbed him in the eye, running away.

Polyphemus cried out in pain, pulling the club out of his eye, his vision gone.

Other Cyclopes heard his cries, so they went to him.

’Who hurts you?’ They said.

’It was nobody— Nobody!’ Polyphemus replied, still hissing in pain.

’If nobody hurts you.. BE SILENT!’ The other Cyclopes said, angry that he wasted his time.

’DONT GO!’ Polyphemus tried to say, but they had already left.

Odysseus and his men carried the sheep away, but Athena intervened with Odysseus.

’Have you forgotten the lessons I taught you!? He’s still a threat until he’s dead! Finish it.’ Athena said looking between Polyphemus and Odysseus.

Odysseus, still grieving Polites’ death, decided to keep ‘Open arms’ and he said flatly ‘No.’

Athena could barely stop him, before he did something that would change everything.

’WHEN WE MET I LED WITH PEACE, WHILE YOU FED YOUR INNER BEAST! BUT MY COMRADES WILL NOT DIE IN VAIN! REMEMBER THEM. THE NEXT TIME THAT YOU DARE CHOOSE NOT TO SPARE? REMEMBER THEM. REMEMBER US. REMEMBER ME. IM THE REIGNING KING OF ITHACA!’ Odysseus yelled, anger coursing through him.

Exposing his IP address was not a good idea.

’I AM NEITHER MAN NOR MYTHICAL. I AM YOUR DARKEST MOMENT.. I AM THE INFAMOUS, ODYSSEUS!!!’ He yelled out, before sailing away.

Oh, now he revealed his identity, what a great recipe for pissing off Poseidon.

Hades dealed with the Fates, agreeing to fulfill something if they wove Pallas’ thread back to life.

He knew that Athena would appreciate having Pallas back, because her mental health was declining.

What he had to do was not all easy, he had to manage the underworld all by himself. That’s right, no Charon, no Minos, no Rhadamanthus, no Aeacus. It would be a workload, but aslong as he fulfilled it, Pallas would come back.

It was no easy task. Souls constantly trying to force their way onto the boat, and more. After a whole week, as the deal said, he finally could get back to his normal fair share of work. Minos, Rhadamanthus, Aeacus, and Charon came back to do their work. He finished his paperwork and headed to the fates, to seal the deal.

The deal was done. Pallas was coming back! Great news.

Hades went to tell Pallas.

’Pallas. I dealed with the fates to bring you back. I know you and i dont really know eachother, but its because you need to help Athena. Shes not in a good head space nowadays.’ Hades said to Pallas

’Huh, so thats why i felt weird. Thank you, Hades. I promise i will help Athena whenever i can. I care for her’ Pallas said, happily.

Hades resisted saying ‘Love birds’ and instead, he just walked away.

Chapter Text

Odysseus calmed down, him taking a breath after all that doxxing he just did to himself. He then realized he fucked up.

Can’t change that now, can you? Little bitc-

He felt a familiar feeling.

Quick thought.

’You were reckless..’ Athena said.

It was true. He was reckless, but.. he was grieving. Mourning. His friend just died.

’..sentimental at best.’ She continued.

He felt guilty, but his friend died. He just wanted to keep his open arms.

’Thats not a teaching of mine.’ Athena scolded, clearly disappointed.

’Youve grown soft, your dead friends can attest.’ She said, crossing some boundaries

Odysseus yelled. ‘HEY!’ while grabbing the Goddess by the armor. Not a good choice, Odysseus.

Athena pushed him, causing him to fall over.

‘Put your emotions aside. Your a warrior, meant to lead the rest!’ She yelled, offended.

Odysseus got back up, dusting himself off.

’I don’t know where I went wrong! But I warned ya, and you failed the test! So now I’m gone.’ She said, sternly.

She wasn’t kidding.

Odysseus looked horrified.

He wanted to apologize.

but nothing could make up for doxxing himself, he’s cooked.

’This way, you’ll know what your place is. This way, you won’t cross the line. This way, you’ll stop mourning your friend and stop being so kind. This way, you’ll stop being so soft. This day, he stopped being your friend-‘ She said, before being cut off.

Odysseus pulled Athena to him.

He was angry.

She crossed lines she shouldn’t have.

But she’s a Goddess. She doesn’t understand humans.

’STOP! DONT TALK ABOUT POLITES LIKE THAT- YOU-‘ Odysseus fell to the floor, crying.

Athena looked at him, without guilt, just with disappointment.

’This is why you shouldn’t have brought him. He made you soft.’ Athena replied, no hint of guilt in her voice. Pure disappointment.

Odysseus did something impulsive.

Something not wise.

Worse than doxxing himself, even.

He tackled her.

Thats right, he tackled a fucking goddess.

Odysseus grabbed Athena by her armor, again.

’I- HE DIDNT MAKE ME SOFT. HE SHOWED ME HOW TO EXPRESS MYSELF, YOU-, YOUR JUST A HEARTLESS GODDESS!’ Odysseus said, impulsively.

These words stung to Athena.

The Gods called her that once.

‘What a heartless goddess..’ Ares muttered under his breath, right after Athena turned Arachne into a spider.

’So heartless! hahahahah’ Hermes said, as a joke, not knowing it hurt her.

’How can you be so heartless!?’ Pallas’ mother yelled, after Pallas she died.

She wasn’t heartless.

She just didn’t understand.

She was supposed to be perfect.

She snapped back to reality after a few moments, pushing Odysseus off of her as she got up.

’Foolish mortal. Don’t talk to me like that.’ And with that, Athena left, sad.

Odysseus felt guilt.

He shouldn’t have.

But he still did.

He didn’t know what she’s gone through.

They continued sailing.

They sailed for a few weeks.

A storm, unlike any other kind brewed, sending the ships into chaos.

Soldiers fell overboard, and drowned.

’These waves and tides have grown in strength and size..’ Odysseus said, inspecting the storm.

’Is it nature, divine, or a blessing in disguise?’ He suspected it was Athena, but she wouldnt interfere like this. Its not her domain anyways.

Their home was in sight, only a few miles away. This storm was their final fight. There was no time to die..

’COMRADES!’ Odysseus yelled.

’SIR!’ Soldiers replied.

’BRACE FOR A STOOOOORM!’ He yelled, attempting to steer the ship.

The soldiers followed him, helping him.

Other ships did the same, steering to safety.

He yelled commands left and right, helping men get to safety.

That was when they saw it.

’An island in the sky..’ Perimedes, Elpenor, Eurylochus, and Odysseus said.

’Eurylochus, grab the harpoons. As many as you can find.’ Odysseus commanded.

’What do you have in mind?’ Eurylochus replied, curious.

’We’re gonna shoot for the sky.’ Odysseus flatly responded.

’what’ Eurylochus said, confused as fuck. He followed, though.

As soon as Odysseus’ ship shot for the island in the sky with the harpoons, the other ships did so too.

Pallas woke up, dazed and confused.

She got up, brushing herself off.

She woke up on Olympus.

Hades informed everyone, well, except Athena.

She got up, some Gods greeting her.

She walked around Olympus, until she saw Athena.

Athena didnt notice her yet.

Pallas hid behind the wall, still not having the courage to talk to her after its been.. what, a millenia?

Aphrodite saw Pallas blushing at the sight of Athena, so she chuckled lightly.

’Youve got this, you can talk to her.’ Aphrodite spoke, putting a hand on her shoulder.

Aphrodite then walked away, following Ares.

Chapter Text

After a few days, Pallas gained the courage to go see Athena.

’Athena..’ Pallas whispered, under her breath.

She entered Athena’s room.

Athena turned around, because she heard the door open.

And there Pallas was.

Alive.

Real.

This couldn’t possibly be.

She killed her years ago.

But.. now she’s here.

Athena had an unreadable expression.

’..Is it you?’ Athena spoke, tense.

’Have my prayers been answered..’

’Is it really you standing there, or am I dreaming once more?’ Athena said, while Pallas approached her.

Pallas held up her hand to cup Athena’s cheek, but stopped when Athena tensed more at it.

Athena inspected her, her stormy gray eyes calculating.

It was her.

It was Pallas.

Not some clone.

Not some copycat.

It truly is Pallas.

Athena instinctively cupped Pallas’ face, looking at her.

There was no difference.

Her eyes had the same look of mischief and kindness in them.

Her hair, beautiful as ever.

Pallas looked at her intently.

She was back.

Athena could barely process this.

Her love.

Her only ever true love was back.

’Im sorry.’ She murmured, apologizing for killing her.

Pallas looked back at her and smiled, she had already forgiven Athena a while ago.

’..Would you fall in love with me again if you knew how much I’ve changed..?’ Athena said to Pallas.

Pallas then spoke.

’I would fall in love with you, over and over again. I don’t care how, where, or when. No matter how long it’s been, I’ll love you.’
‘Don’t tell me your not the same person.. you’re always Athena.’

Pallas stepped closer to her.

Both of them had tears in their eyes, that were not ready to fall yet.

Pallas was about to hug her when-

Athena hugged her first.

[insert wyfilwma intrumental]

They let the tears fall.

They hugged eachother like letting go would make eachother dissapear.

They sobbed into eachothers shoulders.

They had reunited.

And for now, that was all that mattered.

The other olympians looked into the room, nearly crying.

’Awww.. theyre so cute together..! my heart cant handle it.’ Said aphrodite, who was wiping tears from her eyes.’

Then Zeus appeared.

’stop spying, what are you all even watchi-‘

He froze.

Pallas was back.

No.

He should have gotten rid of her.

He should have killed her.

Pallas would ruin his “perfect” child.

He had to do something.

But when?

How?

After they stopped sobbing into eachother, Athena spoke.

’How long has it been..?’

Pallas, letting a tear drop, said.

’Over a millenia..’

They then said

’I, love, you.’

They then pulled eachother into a soft, and tender kiss.

Chapter Text

Odysseus climbed up into the island in the sky.

’Great wind god Aeolus, I don’t know if you know this.. but our path to home has been blocked by an impenetrable storm.’

’I ask for your assistance, so at last we can go the distance. Can you cast the perfect winds for us and aid our journey home?’

Aeolus appeared out of thin air (get it)

’I am the wind, twisting and turning! I give the fire enough to stay burning. Let’s play a game!’ She said.

’A game?’ Odysseus spoke.

’Thats what im serving! And if you win, you’ll get what your yearning.’ She replied.

’Deal!’ He said.

’Take a look right here at this bag, it has the winds of the storm all trapped! All you gotta do is not open this bag.’ Aeolus said.

’Sounds too easy.. what’s the catch?’ He replied.

’Hahaha! Keep your friends close and your enemies closer!’ She said.

The winions added ‘Never really know who you can trust!’

Aeolus continued talking about the bag, and eventually Odysseus climbed back down onto the ship, Aeolus watching them.

The crew mates were confused, asking various questions. ‘Captain, what’s happened, what’s trapped in that bag?’

Odysseus then said ‘Something dangerous friends, we must’nt lag!’

The winions, deciding to spark some chaos, said ‘ITS TREASURE!’

Odysseus looked confused, then the winions went away.

The crew mates got excited, wanting Odysseus to open the bag to see what treasures they got.

Odysseus firmly declined, saying the bag contained the winds inside.

Odysseus went to the other part of the ship, their home in sight.

He got tired, and out the bag down.

A mistake that would cost many things.

He got tired.

So, he fell asleep.

’Just keep your eyes open..’ Penelope and Telemachus said to Odysseus.

Odysseus complained about how his eyes, heart, and soul were so heavy.

Penelope and Telemachus urged him to keep his eyes open. Again.

’Wake up.. Odysseus.. they’re opening the bag! WAKE UP-‘ Penelope yelled, then disappeared.

Odysseus woke up, seeing the bag was opened.

’NOOOOO!’ He yelled.

Him and Eurylochus closed the bag, preventing further damage to be done.

They landed in the home of the Laestrygonians.

’ODYSSEUS OF ITHACA!’ A mysterious voice yelled.

’Do you know who I am?’ It said.

The Laestrygonians started chanting a familiar name-

Poseidon.

Poseidon.

Poseidon.

Poseidon.

Poseidon.

Poseidon.

Poseidon

Odysseus looked panicked. ‘Poseidon..’

’In all my years of living.. it isn’t very often that I get pissed off.’ Poseidon spoke.

That was a lie. He’s fucking temperamental. More temperamental than Athena.

Poseidon continued talking. He talked about the son that went blind.

’Thats right, the cyclops you made blind.. is mine.’ He said, furiously.

Odysseus couldn’t believe it.

He fucked up.

It bit you in the ass, didn’t it you piece of shit.

He continued talking.

Oh, he brought up the fact he’s related to Autolycus. Wolf swimming with sharks!

He’s mad. Not that he blinded his son, but because he’s such a cowardice to reveal his name when Athena specifically told him not to from the particular reason of pettiness.

Poseidon continued yapping.

And yapping.

Odysseus just thought ‘shut this motherfucker up.’

Poseidon then mentioned killing his crew.

Odysseus and his crew BEGGED for mercy.

Poseidon practically said ‘Dumbass, didn’t you hear what I said? RUTHLESSNESS IS MERCY UPON OURSELVES!’

Poseidon drowned his crew.

The cries of his men.

CAPTAIN!
CAPTAIN!
CAPTAIN!
CAPTAIN!
CAPTAIN!
CAPTAIN!
CAPTAIN!
CAPTAIN!

After the other ships drowned, the tidal wave calmed down.

’What have you done..’ Odysseus said.

Poseidon replied. ‘43 left under your command.’ ‘Any last words?’

Odysseus then realized he was mentored by Athena, so he used his cunning. ‘ALL I GOTTA DO IS OPEN THIS BAG.’

’WHAT’ Poseidon said.

The bag was opened.

The remaining ship was blown onto Aeaea.

’..Remember me.’ Poseidon said, then he went into the water.

Zeus paced in Olympus, panicking.

Pallas could ruin all of his plans.

He needed to put a stop to this.

With his single digit IQ, he put up an.. actual decent plan?

Oh. He’s paranoid.

Thats not an excuse sisterbrothermotherfucker.

Zeus gathered the courage to put the plan together.

He watched as Athena and Pallas sparred.

He was going to do it again.

No matter how much he needs to do it.

Pallas would ruin all of his plans for his “perfect” little girl.

He pulled out the Aegis again.

Pallas got distracted.

Athena, luckily, didn’t mess up. But still kinda did.

She struck her in the hip, a non-deadly place, but still, OW.

Zeus sighed and teleported away, disappointed that he couldn’t kill Pallas again.

Athena panicked and rushed Pallas to the infirmary.

Pallas suspected it was Zeus, but due to his authority, she didn’t say anything.

Athena was blaming herself again.

Yup, full on flashbacks.

The fated day.

The way she killed her.

And she didn’t realize it was because of Zeus.

After around a week, Pallas fully healed.

Athena never left Pallas’ side, afraid she would get hurt again.

One time, Hermes accidentally tripped Pallas and he got sent to the infirmary for a month.

Zeus was panicked.

Triton didn’t know yet. Poseidon didn’t tell him yet.

Pallas’ mother didn’t know she was alive. She still hates Athena.

Fuck.

He messed up by not killing her in his opinion.

But you know what? Fuck off Zeus. Pls get castrated.

Zeus tried to plan again, but failed.

He tried.

Again.

But to no avail.

Chapter 7: Hephaestus’ Attempt

Summary:

Hephaestus tries to rape Athena and fails. (It didn’t happen yet in this AU ok) and Triton finds out his daughter is alive.

Notes:

odysseus’ journey is bad but Athena will help soon. And uh this is one of the 3 chapters with the archive warning I used. (First chapter had rape, chapter 7, this one, has failed rape, and one chapter will have rape like in the first chapter) ALSO I SUCK AT MAKING RAPE CHAPTERS SO IM SORRY IF IT SUCKS 😭😭😭

(See the end of the chapter for more notes.)

Chapter Text

Hephaestus knew Pallas was back.

Hephaestus knew Athena opened up again.

No way a nymph could capture her heart, right? It would be foolish of a God, especially Athena!

After a fight with Ares, Athena went into Hephaestus’ forge to request new weapons.

Hephaestus, filled with desire and lust, jumped towards Athena.

Athena quickly reacted, running out of the way.

Hephaestus got up, his limp putting him at a disadvantage.

’Oh come on~ you choose a nymph over me?’ Hephaestus spat at the anvil.

Athena narrowed her eyes.

’I will choose a nymph over you. I have no desire for you.’ Athena replied.

Hephaestus removed his chiton and tried to grab Athena.

Hephaestus was able to grab her, but then he got kicked in the balls hard enough that he fell to the floor.

Athena then said ‘You disgust me. I have no desire for any sexual love.’

’But what about Palla-‘ Hephaestus said, before being cut off.

’Did I say anything about having sex with Pallas? It’s a romantic relationship, not a fuck-buddy one. And I still want to remain a virgin.’ Athena said, then she left.

Athena told Pallas about what happened, and Pallas comforted her.

After calming down, Pallas and Athena went back to Libya to visit lake tritonis.

(okay I know it’s confusing because it’s extinct now, but the odyssey happened around 1200 BCE so the lake would still be around.)

They went to the lake, sitting down next to eachother on the grass.

’Oh, how much I’ve missed this.’ Pallas said.

Athena remained silent, it was the same place where Pallas died. But, she was forgiven now. She didn’t know what to think.

Triton strolled around, near his lake. He heard familiar laughing. It sounded like Athena and Pallas. Weird. Isn’t his daughter dead?

Triton got closer to the sound, seeing Pallas.

He was both confused and happy.

Confused because, he saw Pallas die infront of his own eyes.

Happy, because she’s back.

But how?

He approached Pallas, tapping her shoulder.

Pallas turned around.

It was her father.

’Dad!’ Pallas exclaimed, standing up then running up to him to hug him.

Tritonis hugged her back, tears streaming down his face.

’Daughter.. oh how I’ve missed you so much!’ He said.

Athena got up and approached them.

’Im sorry for killing Pallas; I do not ask for forgiveness, I simply just apologize.’ Athena said. She still didn’t know it was her dumbass brothersistermotherfucker father, or can you even call him that, Zeus.

’It wasn’t you, don’t blame yourself.’ Triton said to Athena.

’but how? I was the one who stabbed her..’ she spoke.

’Zeus intentionally used the Aegis to distract Pallas. I saw it, but I was powerless against him.’ Triton replied.

Athena got mad pretty quickly.

’So it was him this whole time. And I’ve been blaming myself because of him.’ Athena said.

Triton nodded.

’I’ll be back. Have some time with Pallas before we leave.’ And with that, Athena left to go find Odysseus. She regretted her actions, and she only decided to help because Pallas showed her kindness.

Zeus felt like he was very much cooked, though he didn’t know why.

He walked around Olympus, hoping to find Pallas to kill her.

Nothing.

He didn’t know she was with Triton currently.

Zeus went back to his throne room and just looked at statues of himself.

Hermes saw him and chuckled. Then Hermes left.

Chapter Text

Odysseus sat on the rough sand, looking into the horizon. ‘Damn you, Poseidon.’ He thought.

Eurylochus walked up to him.

’Captain.. I have something that I must confess. Something that I must get off my chest..’ He said.

Odysseus got up. Didn’t say anything, just stood there.

’..Until it is said I cannot rest.’ Eurylochus approached Odysseus.

Eurylochus put a hand on Odysseus’ shoulder.

’Captain?’ He said.

’Eurylochus, go make sure this island is secure.’ Odysseus replied.

Eurylochus was about to protest.

’There’s only so much left we can endure, whatever you need to say, can wait some more. Of that I’m sure.’ He said.

Eurylochus sighed, then gathered some men to scavenge the island.

Odysseus sat back down and slept for a while.

He got woken up by a shaken Eurylochus.

’Eurylochus, back so soon? Where’s the rest of your men? And by the Gods.. what the fuck happened to you?’ Odysseus said, curious.

’We came across a palace..’ Eurylochus explained. ‘Inside we heard a voice, it seemed to show no malice. To greet it was our choice! But nothing could prepare us for the power, that awaited inside..’

’What did this palace hide?’ Said Odysseus.

’Sir.. since we’ve left home we’ve faced a variety of foes from a wide range of places! Gods, monsters. You know the roster, hostile creatures that we could resist, but this? Was a hell of a twist! Cause we are weak to a power like this.’ Replied Eurylochus

’When the fuck did you learn to start rapping. And what was it?’ Asked Odysseus.

’A woman.’ Said Eurylochus.

‘what.’ Odysseus replied.

’SHE HAD US IN JUST TWO WORDS-‘ Eury said.

*cough cough* ‘come inside.’ Eurylochus said, trying his best to make an impression of the lady of the palace.

’DAMN.’ Odysseus said, confused on why the fuck he sounds like a goddamn woman.

Eurylochus continued explaining to his captain, and Odysseus just listened.

’We have to go save them.’ Odysseus said.

’NO WE DONT.’ Eurylochus protested.

’fuck you, I’m going to save them.’ Odysseus said, then he walked off into the woods.

’I must say.. what a brilliant insult you gave.’ An anonymous voice in the trees spoke.

’Who goes there?’ Odysseus said.

’Just a friend.. who can help you save your men! A foe like Circe’s not to be messed with, you wanna beat her? You’ll need the blessing of a certain god.. divine intervention.’ The voice said.

’..Apollo?’ Odysseus asked.

’NO. Someone’s whose not afraid to.. send a message?’ Hermes then popped out of the bushes.

’HERMES??’ Odysseus yelled, confused.

‘HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA’ Hermes laughed.

’Wouldnt you like a taste of the power! Wouldn’t you like to use more than words? Deep in the night, the fight lasts for hours. You can be hurt, or you can beat her! Wouldn’t you like to have some of the magic, wouldn’t you like your outcome preferred? Deep in the night, the fight can be tragic. I’ll help you conquer her!’ Hermes said, nearly yelling.

Odysseus looked amazed.

’She can turn you into an animal that’ll end up on her plate. She can all but make you fall in love, like your on your hundredth date! She can conjure up a monster, that’ll grind you to the bones!’ Hermes exclaimed, getting all in Odysseus’ personal space.

Odysseus backed up a bit, as Hermes was getting too close to him.

Hermes decided to quickly get to the point, and got the root of the flower.

’Here in the root of this flower, there lies such a power to take her on. You must consume and digest it and you’ll manifest a being of your creation! All you needs imagination. Though it’s only for a moment, till you’ve beaten your opponent! And I call this root, HOLY, MOLY! HAHAHAHAHAHAAA’ Hermes yelled, though, not in an angry way. Just like a hyper toddler.

Hermes gave Odysseus the moly, and was about to leave.

’Hermes! Thank you.’ Odysseus said.

’Dont thank me friend, you very well may die~ haha, good luck.’ Hermes replied, then flew away.

Odysseus entered the palace, and saw multiple nymphs and pigs.

The nymphs saw Odysseus, and ran to Circe.

The pigs approached him, like they were asking for help.

Odysseus approached Circe.

’Lady of the palace, sorry that I ask this, but I hope that I’ve been misinformed. I sent out some scouts to take a look around through here, and they wound up at your doors. Through the years we seldom, get a warm welcome. Though I must ask just to be sure, did you do something to them?’ He asked.

’Who, me? All I did was reveal their true forms.’ Circe replied, turning around to look at him.

’you turned them into pigs..’ Odysseus then said, unamused.

’Ha. I don’t know who you are, nor why your here. But let me make this one thing clear.. I’ve got people to protect. Nymphs I can’t neglect. So I’m not taking chances dear.’ Circe said.

’If you make on wrong move, then your done for. Anything I don’t approve? Then your done for. I could put a spell on you then your done for. Oh you better run, or soon you will be done for.’

Odysseus then got cocky, as usual. He always had some hubris with him.

’I don’t mean to tip your scale, but you will fail at placing any spells on me~ I just ate a flower, one that claims your ooerr. So you better cower now and flee.’

’You must be a liar- mortals can’t acquire moly without dire consequence.’ Circe replied.

’Well I must be a god like you, cause I got this root from the ground with my bare hands.’ He said, full of hubris.

’Hermes gave that to you.. didn’t he?’ Circe then said, knowing about Hermes’ shenanigans.

Odysseus was suddenly pulled into quick thought so randomly once Circe summoned her chimera.

’What the fu-‘ He said.

’OH DAMN YOU ATHENA, I WAS ABOUT TO USE THE FLOWER.’ He yelled out

’Shut the fuck up before I help Circe instead of you.’ Athena said sternly.

Odysseus quickly shut up..

Odysseus summoned a cyclops using his imagination and the flower, and it was stronger than Polyphemus because it was blessed by Athena.

After a while, the Cyclops immobilized the Chimera.

’Youve lost.’ Odysseus grinned.

’My nymphs are like my daughters, I protect them at all costs.. the last time we let strangers live? We faced a heavy loss. You’ve given me no reason to bestow you with my trust.. but everyone’s true colors, are revealed in acts of lust~’ Replied Circe.

’Im not sure I follow..’ Odysseus said

Chapter Text

Athena headed back to olympus after helping Odysseus.

Once she saw Circe remove her chiton, she left. Nope. None of that.

She walked around Olympus, looking for Pallas.

Hermes then passed by, ‘YOO, Athena! Hephaestus told me you were dating Pallas now. Is that true?? I mean, you have kissed before.’

’You saw us?’ Athena asked, shocked.

’Ah shit, didn’t mean to say that-‘ Hermes said. ‘Oh, I’m also here to deliver something!’

Hermes pulled out a box.

It had something in it, but Athena wasn’t sure what it was.

’What is inside this bo-‘ After Athena said that, Hermes left too quickly.

Athena sighed and took the box back to her room.

She saw Pallas sitting down on her bed.

’Hi, Athena! What’s in that box?’ Said Pallas.

’Honestly, I don’t know. Wanna open it with me’ Athena replied.

’Sure!’ Pallas said.

Athena set the box down and they both opened the lid.

A baby.

A GODDAMN HALF-SNAKE BABY.

’WHAT THE FUCK??’ Athena yelled out. ‘HERMES YOU LITTLE SHIT.’

‘he looks like Hephaestus.’ Pallas commented.

Athena then said ‘Huh. Did he fuck someone and the person he fucked gave their child to me?’

’I don’t know, ask Zeus.’ Pallas replied.

’Fuck no. He’s probably gonna get mad at ME instead of Hephaestus.’ Athena said.

’oh right, he’s a bitch. How about we focus on the child that looks half dead right now.’ Pallas replied.

’oh shit, your right. the kid probably hasn’t eaten.’ Athena then left, to go ask Hera on how tf to give a child food.

Athena came back shortly after, with Hera with her.

Hera pulled out some formula and gave it to the child.

The child woke up and drank it happily

’wait whose child is this.’ Hera asked.

’oh one of hephaestus’ lovers I assume gave it to me. I don’t know how to take care of a fucking child, let alone an infant.’ Athena answered.

Soon, Hera left and went back to do her godly duties (which is being petty to zeus’ mortal lovers)

’well we gotta stop calling the child an it. let’s give it a name!’ Pallas suggested

’uuhh ericthonius I suppose would work.’ Replied Athena.

’yeah that works.’ Pallas said.

After the Child was taken to Hera to sleep somewhere, Athena and Pallas talked to eachother. About life. About new experiences. And about Athena’s problems (Pallas’ problems will be mentioned in a future chapter ok.)

’drop some facts about yourself’ Pallas asked.

’ok. my dad ate my mom when she was pregnant with me and I came out of his head.’ Athena answered.

’what. so that’s why you don’t know how babies are born.’ Pallas replied

’they come out of their fathers heads after eating their wife, right?’ Athena asked.

’..no. the mother gives birth to the child in their womb through their lower part. has no one ever told you this??’ Asked Pallas.

’oh. nobody told me that.’ Athena replied.

Athena continued saying things that were traumatizing, but not that traumatizing in her opinion.

’are you okay. you think the things that you have been through weren’t traumatizing but they are.’ Pallas said.

’im completely fine! a bit of trauma doesn’t hurt. it gives character development’ Athena replied. ‘Zeus said this to me.’

’Zeus is a sisterbrothermotherfatherfucker you know that, he’s a dumbass. Don’t trust him or follow him, he’ll lead you somewhere you won’t like to be in. Besides, Triton told you that Zeus was the reason I died. Why do you still care for him or admire him? It’s not like he’s going to pay it back to you after all you’ve done for him. He doesn’t appreciate you as much as he should.’ Pallas said.

’im the favorite child, I have to trust him or else he’ll abandon me. he said that the only reason why I haven’t been kicked out of Olympus is because I’m useful and give him a good image. Oh. Yeah he’s an asshole. Sorry, I get unfocused.’ Athena replied.

’it’s fine.’ Pallas said.

A thunderstorm was heard.

’Hide. Pallas, hide! Zeus is looking for you. Someone told me he was planning to kill you again, I don’t want that to happen.’ Athena said, frantically.

Pallas hid somewhere Zeus’s fatass couldn’t find her.

Zeus barged into the room.

’Hello, my.. favorite child. Where is uh.. Pallas? I just need to chat with her.’ Zeus said, a fake friendly smile on his face.

’I won’t let you hurt her. You are why she died.’ Athena replied.

’Lies, they have told you, lies! I would never do such a thing. And why do you listen to them? They’re insane, crazy! Reckless, I must add.’ Zeus spoke, trying to manipulate Athena.

’I don’t want to be taken for granted anymore, Father! Cant you just understand that I am my own person? Stop controlling my life already-‘ Athena was then grabbed by the wrist, a thunderbolt pointed at her.

’Stop spreading lies, child. Retaliate again and I shall strike you down with the master bolt.’ Zeus threatened.

Athena went quiet.

Again? Another thunderbolt? She’s had this before. But why now?

’Good.’ Zeus praised, and he let go of Athena’s wrist, leaving the room. ‘If Pallas isn’t here, I’ll go look somewhere else. You better not be hiding her my child.’

Athena held her wrist, still hissing in pain from how tight Zeus held her wrist.

Pallas came out of her hiding spot. ‘Are you okay?’ She asked.

’Im fine.’ Athena said.

‘Thats good. Do you wanna go help Odysseus again? I heard he’s being seduced by Circe.’ Pallas asked.

’Nope. Hell no, she took her clothes off. I dont wanna see that again.’ Athena replied.

’oh damn. Well, lets help him later, then!’ Pallas replied.

Chapter Text

“I’m not sure i follow.” Said Odysseus, the situation was.. confusing yet scary. This woman just took off her clothes after a battle, how insane do you have to be to do that?

”There are other ways of persuasion~” Spoke Circe, the witch, she circled around Odysseus, and held his hand, seducingly yet in a way that wasn’t too obvious for people to notice. These spells had always worked before- and she didn’t want to risk another nymph at the cost of a man and his crew.

”There are other modes of control, there are other means of deceit~ there are other roads to the soul! There are other actions of passion, you have so much left to learn~” Circe continued, her tricks trying to manipulate the king of Ithaca, cunning Odysseus, one of the ‘smartest’ greeks, apparently. Odysseus, husband of Penelope, was uncomfortable. Why would you try to fuck someone just after they threatened your damn life? Seems weird.

”Want to save your men from the fire? Show me that you’re willing to burn!~” Circe said, trying to invoke a response from the man. She did not know what his full intentions were, but she knew that some of it was to gain his crew back, so, she used it to her advantage.

”Whose to say with the mistakes I’ve made?” Said Odysseus, the spell was getting to him, and he was trying to resist. He could not cheat on his loyal wife, Penelope, queen of Ithaca, princess of Sparta. His wife would not be happy if he cheated, he couldn’t, he loved her too much to, but, why was the spell reaching him? Why would he resist? The thoughts spiraled, some in his control, some out of his control. This mans mind was a mess, especially after all that happened. He lost his best friend, and he lost 500+ men.

”Dont be afraid!~” Replied Circe, she could not let the man hurt her nymphs, even if he seemed like he had good intentions. She could not fall to people decieving her. She had experienced this before.

”That they will be the last..” Odysseus said. “Think of your past!” Then said Circe, their voices overlapping eachothers. The two barely knew eachother, and they just met. Both of their minds was spiraling with thoughts, both good and bad. They both were already struggling.

”Mistakes i’ll ever make.” Continued Odysseus, he was contemplating on what to do. He couldnt just leave his men there- he couldnt! But he also couldnt cheat on his beautiful wife Penelope and ruin their marriage, he was torn, split, and he was running out of time to choose.

”There is so much power, so much power, but theres no puppet here~” Both of them said it, this time. It really seemed like the seduction would work. Circe was gaining more hope, while Odysseus was losing hope. Odysseus was panicking, he could not think straight, and he was losing to the seduction!

“This is the price we pay for love!” Circe spoke, the spell only working more and more. Odysseus thought his attempts would become futile, but he tried. Some part of his brain thought it would be a good idea to convince himself it was right so he could have less guilt if he actually did.

”Im just a man..” Odysseus said to himself- trying to reassure his mind what he was doing was for the greater good. He still fought the spell, though, just in case it would work. But, he was losing hope. He couldnt fail them like that. Not again.

”There is no line, never enough~” Circe said, there wasn’t enough love Odysseus had in those 12 years, but he wouldnt cheat, it was reserved for Penelope! He would never.

”Im just a man!” Odysseus said, a bit louder this time. He was being coerced and he hated the feeling. He was a symbol of power- and he was a king! He was supposed to be strong willed. He continued trying to fight it.

”So much power, so much power!” Circe repeated, her spell was ‘seemingly’ working on Odysseus.

”Forgive me..” muttered Odysseus, but his will kept him fighting. He was acting like he was losing to make Circe weaken the spell. Surely, this would work, right?

”But there’s no puppet here~~” repeated Circe, the spell got weaker, and she fell for his bluff (hahaha). She thought he was about to give in. ‘Hope’ was already settled in her mind.

”I CANT!” Odysseus yelled, he then pushed Circe off of him and then got up. He finally got over the spell. He was breathing a bit heavily, likely due to exhaustion from fighting against the spell. Circe was shocked, no one had ever resisted her spells before. But, she also was a bit surprised, and she was wondering, why can’t he? She knew Odysseus was the king of Ithaca, husband of Penelope, but she didn’t know he was that loyal to her. “Impressive”, she said to herself.

“Back at home my wife awaits for me, she’s my everything.. my Penelope!” Odysseus said. He would never cheat, their relationship was blessed by Athena too, so why would he? He had everything he wanted before he left for war. Being a king, having wealth, having a patron goddess, having a loving and loyal wife, and having an amazing son. He would give up anything to see them again.

”And she’s all my power, all my power. But it’s been twelve long years!” He ranted. It’s been so long (since I last have seen my s-) that he thought it was twelve years when in reality it was ten. Polites had the calendar but he’s dead now. He just missed his family. Get this man home and fuck you Poseidon.

”Oh! Twelve long years since I have seen my wife, and now the god of tides, is out to end my life.” He kept ranting like Circe was a therapist. He dramatically flopped onto the couch, too, how extra of him. He fucking HATED Poseidon (me too gng don’t worry) and he just wanted to go home, he didn’t want to be involved with much, he ended a war. He’s tired and the sleepiest guy but he has insomnia due to all the death and gore he has seen.

”So I beg you Circe.” Odysseus kneeled infront of her. “Grant us mercy! And let us puppets live..” he was trying to get his crew home, even if it was small. He couldn’t lose more of them. Ctimene would be so mad if Eurylochus couldn’t get home. He wanted a happy ending for his entire family. His sister was important to him, and seeing her sad would just make him feel guilty.

Circe sighed. “Poseidon, eh?” She said. She also hated that dumbass who cheated on his wife 57 times I think, I lost track, he cheated more than Zeus did.

”There might be a way to evade him, there might be a way to get home. Though this other ways very dangerous, it might be your one final hope!” Circe said, trying to give him hope because a loyal man is a loyal man. She was willing to help, this time, and it wasn’t a trick. Sure, she still might be a bit skeptical, but she’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

”I know of a brilliant prophet— problem is, this prophet is dead.” The mood quickly changed, death was not a soft thing to talk about to soldiers with severe PTSD from A TEN YEAR LONG WAR (fuck you paris!). Tiresias is the said prophet, but Odysseus did not know about him.

”I can’t get you home, but I’ll get you to the underworld instead. I’ll release your men and I’ll get you to the underworld instead.” Said Circe, she was going to try and redeem herself this time. After all, not all men are pigs, it’s just that some of them.. (looks at Poseidon, Zeus, and Hephaestus) are assholes.

”Wait, you’re helping us?” Odysseus said, confused. He was distracted slightly because he was thinking about his beautiful wife Penelope.

”Yes, you dumbass, I am helping, please sybau and let me turn them back your annoying ahh keeps yapping about Penelope.” Circe said.

”what?? What the actual FUCK does s-y-b-a-u mean or yapping means I’m so lost.” Odysseus said. He did not know brainrot terms, good for him. I sure do hope Telemachus doesn’t teach him those terms when he gets home! After all, he’d probably use them in the wrong situations.

Circe walked towards the pigs, and the pigs backed up, they didn’t trust her. Circe threw a potion on them and they turned back into men. Yipee- WHERE THE FUCK ARE THEIR CLOTHES. THEY HAVE NO CLOTHES. Circe, please give them some damn clothes im going to scream.

Odysseus gathered his men and counted them. There were only 42. He had them recite their names, and he didn’t notice a missing person (bro forgot elpenor). So, he thanked Circe and let her bring the ship to the underworld. It was sketchy, but, he’d trust her after actually helping him. He wondered where Athena was, though, and he was getting a little worried. But, he had to focus. He was in the underworld (now, we’re in the underworld now!!).

Athena used quick thought to check where Odysseus was, and thank the gods, he is not seeing a naked woman anymore. “why the FUCK is he in the underworld?” Athena thought to herself. How did he even ENTER? The only people she knew that could open that portal was Circe and- ooh. She gets it now.

Athena can’t enter the underworld, due to restrictions from Hades (she can just ask tho). So, she went to go confront Zeus.

”ZEUS!” Athena yelled out, she was mad at him. She was genuinely going to crash out soon if he keeps making her immortal life a damn mess. First, Zeus swallowed Metis, next, he made her unintentionally kill Pallas, and he keeps abusing her, fuck you Zeus!! I hate you Zeus!! He’s a big fat sisterbrothersondaughterniecenephewuncleauntwifehusbandgirlfriendboyfriendfathermotherfucker.

Zeus had a dramatic as FUCK entrance. He summoned lightning around his cloud form and then he appeared. Dramatic asshole.

”Yes, daughter?” He said, trying to put on a ‘nice guy’ voice. He needed to control her again, he needed to manipulate her. Athena’s power is threatening, she’s the daughter of the strongest titan (metis) and the daughter of the king of the gods. Her genetics would make her insanely powerful, and Zeus feared it. He could not let his reign, which he worked so hard for, end over a DAUGHTER. He couldn’t!

”I know what you did to Pallas, I know you tried to make me kill her.” She spoke. Her crashout is justifiable and reasonable, and Zeus wanna hear something? KILL YOURSELF ZEUS I HATE YOU IN THIS AU. Athena was just a person trying, even if she wasn’t doing so well, she tried her best.

Zeus’ mood darkened. The clouds around him became grayer, and thunder crackled at his fingertips. This was a threat— now she has a higher chance of taking over his reign! Zeus then stood up. A bolt already being held in his fist.

Athena summoned her shield— the aegis. She was not going to watch people suffer because of his power hungriness. She would never betray anyone (except Zeus.. heh..)

A bolt collided with a shield, smoke being seen.

cliffhanger for now !!
