Chapter Text
I definitely shouldn’t go stargazing every night. Waking up I feel drained from how little sleep I got, but eating something should help that. Unwrapping myself from the blanket I stretch, preparing to climb down the tree and look for the basket. I stop when I see Kickin at the other end of the branch I’m on, seeming to have dozed off in the time it took for me to wake up. Carefully moving my tail around him I poke him gently, staying ready to catch him if he falls. Kickin’s eyes slowly open as he looks around and stretches. When he sees me he jumps back slightly, almost falling off the branch but I catch him. Once he’s holding on to the branch again I slowly unwrap my tail from him.
*Sorry.*
“What are you apologizing for?”
*Scaring you into almost falling.*
“I could have used my wings to save myself. Anyways, can I talk with you like last time?”
*Yes.*
“Awsome. Here’s the basket by the way.”
*Thank you.*
I take the basket from his hands and put it in my tail before climbing down the tree. Once I’m on the ground I spread out the blanket for both of us as I open the basket. Kickin knows how this goes since he’s shown up consistently everyday so he grabs a container and waits for me to be finished reading what Bobby has written back.
(Listen, I don’t want to write about them eating, and I bet you don’t want to read about them eating.)
With the last container finished off I put it back in the basket.
“Catnap, can I ask you a question?”
*Yes?*
“Can you come back? All of us miss you and are worried about how you are doing. Well, not that worried with me telling them about our talks, but they want to see that you are ok.”
I do, I really do want to go back to them and talk with them, but.. what Dogday has said still hurts, even after he apologized for it.
“Hey, if you are worried that Dogday might try to hurt you, just know that all of us are on your side.”
*I’ll think about it.*
“Aww, but everyone really wants to see you.”
*I know. Just give me a few days.*
“Alright.”
Kickin looks bummed that I declined his offer to return right now but he knows that I will think about it. Even he should know that I’m going to say yes, I’m just stalling.
