Chapter Text
It was indeed a beautiful day. Shining sun, blue sky, fresh spring air. A perfect day for a family picnic or a beach trip.
Twillight stood in front of Eden Academy gates, trying to push strong memories back. This was where it all started ten years ago. Operation Strix. This place was a reason why he adopted a little pink-haired girl, Anya. Why he fake-married an amazing strong woman, Yor Brair. Why he forced his daughter to study too much and why he worked as a psychiatrist in the city hospital. Everything just because this place was visited by Damian Desmond, the young son of Donovan Desmond, his main target.
And after this great man went missing, operation Strix was abandoned, and he was forced to leave his newly-built family. He faked his own death to get away from them easily.
To his disgrace, the missing CEO, Desmond, came back and operation Strix would once again have a meaning. Except he couldn't come back as Loid Forger, a father and a husband. He was assigned a teaching position under the name Mr. Wall in the school to get close to Damian and to his Anya too. If she was still here, the bitter taste of reality hit him as he remembered the little girl struggling with studying. He couldn't imagine that quite a dumb girl getting so far as staying in this elite school for 10 more years.
As he was forcing his memories of sweet little girl to hide, someone ran into him from behind. You're being unacceptably distracted, Twillight!
"So-sorry mister. My apologies," a young girl with long dark-brown hair bowed.
"No worries, miss," he gave her a smile and could see relief in her eyes. That's when another girl gently hit her back. "You're so clumsy today, m'lady." A cheerful voice commented and pink hair of two buns atop her head walked around. Emerald eyes shined as brightly as the smile of this young girl.
"Good morning, Anya! Just because you're an imperial scholar you don't boss me around!"
Twillight forgot he wasn't Loid Forger anymore and let a parent pride heat him from the inside. His daughter not just stayed in this first-class school but even got to the very top of those students. And without his help!
Anya turned around to look him in the face and their gazes met. The shock, happiness and hatred went through the girl's face so fast, he didn't know if it had happened. I might just feel guilty about leaving them... He shouldn't. He'd left girls and women before. And he'd never felt this bad before, and he wouldn't let it affect him now either.
The girls hurried away, and he slowly found the way to his cabinet.
