Chapter Text

Kanroji Mitsuri had always thought so much about Tomioka Giyu.

He was just so quietly adorable —more round-faced than any of the other male Hashira, except for Tokito, but that boy was only fourteen! Not fair to compare them at all. His deep blue eyes, darker and more mysterious than Tokito’s, always made her heart flutter. And his dark hair, soft and begging for braids… Mitsuri could spend forever painting his face and never grow tired of it.

But now… now he was a demon.

Her heart felt like it shattered into a million pieces. How could someone so kind and gentle, so sweet beneath that serious silence, become something she was supposed to fight?

She clutched her chest, her breath catching as tears welled up. “No… this can’t be real…” she whispered, trembling.

Still, deep inside, she hoped. Maybe there was a tiny part of him left—some spark of the Tomioka she cared for.

“I have to believe there’s still some good in you,” she murmured, her fingers nervously twisting a pink strand of hair.

But her love wasn’t weak—it was a burning fire that wouldn’t let her give up.

If he was lost to the demon darkness, she would fight to protect everyone, even if it broke her heart. “I won’t let you hurt anyone… even if it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done.”

Tears slipped down her cheeks as she steeled herself. She was ready. Ready to fight, ready to protect, ready to carry that love like a sword.
