Chapter 5: The One Who Is God

Chapter Text

Fifteen million, four hundred thirty-seven thousand, three hundred twenty-one.

That's how long the newly crown 'Mother of Destruction' was bound in the abyss in complete silence. Her body deteriorated irritatingly slow- and she was alive to witness it all. Layers of her skin had began to wear away at her lack of nutrition and hand loosely off her open ribs and other exposed bones. Where her skin wasn't dissolved with time hugged tightly around her malnourished body, revealing otherwise hidden bones. Her eyes were tired and hollow as her excruciatingly slow decomposition had made it difficult to stop thinking at all and let herself get a couple seconds of peace. As much as she hated it, she learned to respect her alias Ray Valkys even though she felt like a brand new person under that name.

She wasn't alone a lot of the time though. She had 2 visitors. Her father Hellion and the Angel who went under the false name of 'Ouroboros' to keep his identity hidden. In that time, Hellion had watched her rot, but never interfered. Ray could only guess why he looked so distraught, yet never fought against his underlings- even then, she couldn't hold any grudge against him. In her time dormant, it was difficult to muster much emotion. Most dark days were spent thinking and mulling over previous knowledge Hellion had given during his visits. One of the more memorable things he had told her was that she reigned under a new title 'The Mother of Destruction' which is used to describe the evil and dark period that she caused. It was a funny concept to her, knowing that people would likely want to move on from that event, yet offer to give her the slightest attention. As much as she wanted to humor her Father, the decay of her body made it difficult to muster up anything. The only other thing she remembered was the division in her religious group as they all argued against why she betrayed them. Hellion painted the vivid picture of her followers arguing with one another and brawling to win over their ideas as to why she 'gave up' on them for good.
