Chapter Text
Scene 1: bros getting breakfast for bros
Someone was knocking. At his door.
That was the conclusion his sleep deprived, post-exam and post-patrol brain was coming to.
Maybe it was missionaries.
(He hoped not. Even before he'd sprouted horns, those weren't a welcome sight.)
Maybe it was his landlord.
(He had paid rent this month, right?)
Maybe it was Kaine.
(No way. Even if he'd almost died.)
Whoever - or whatever - it was, they weren't causing that all too familiar tingling sensation. So what was the harm in opening the door?

"S- sorry. Do I know you?"
Reilly was pretty sure he wouldn't have forgotten someone with that hair.
"We... met at the wedding reception? After your, uh... medical emergency."
Reilly put a hand to his chest. It still hurt. Nothing compared to the pain of having his heart ripped out, sure, or melting apart from the inside. But the ache still lingered. And even under his baggy, oversized ESU sweater, the scar tissue felt cold -- a sensation he'd almost forgotten.
"Right," Reilly mumbled. "My... medical emergency."
"Yeah! So I... guess.. this is a follow up?"
"Okay... why did you bring coffee?"
Scene 2: water is wet, darkdevil is a weirdo (watching may and wes at deacon's den)
"Do you want me to introduce you or are you just going to keep staring like a creep all day?"
Reilly rolled his eyes. "I'm not staring."
"Oh, no. You've just been watching those two the second they walked in the shop. Totally a different thing."
"Shut up."
"It's my store. You shut up."
"I thought you said it was Deacon's store."
The other boy adjusted his sunglasses. "W- well, both our names are on the lease."
Reilly tried not to smirk. Really, he did.
"I could introduce you," Dormagus repeated.
