Park Humin
Humin doesn't get it. No matter how much he tries, he just doesn't.
What the hell does Hyuntak see in Seongje?
Humin still remembers the day Hyuntak told them about Seongje like it's yesterday. The music of the club fading as Hyuntak tells them who he's dating, and the disbelief setting in because surely not. Surely, Hyuntak couldn't be talking about the Geum Seongje.
It had to be someone else with the exact same name.
Well, it isn't.
Hyuntak is dating the Geum Seongje, and Humin does not fucking get it.
Seongje was – is – a bastard. He tormented Hyuntak for two whole years; he beat him up and made his life a living hell. He even went after Sieun and Suho. How can Hyuntak forgive all that?
Why him?
Out of everyone in the world, why him?
Hyuntak has been his best friend for over a decade now, and there's no one in the world he knows better than Go Hyuntak, but right now, at this moment, Humin feels like he doesn't know Hyuntak at all.
Humin asks him one day, "Are you really happy with him?"
And Hyuntak's answer comes instantly, as easy as breathing, "I am."
But how?
How can anyone be happy with someone like Geum Seongje?
He's chaos reincarnate, a menace to society, the devil in human form. He, with his barely human heart, should've stayed the hell away from Hyuntak.
Instead, they're fucking dating.
At least, just because they're together, Hyuntak doesn't insist on bringing Seongje around when they all get together to hang out. Humin's glad Hyuntak at least has this much sense left because if he has to spend for than five minutes in the presence of Seongje, he'll explode.
Though he knows the day they inevitably have to share a space probably isn't far, so Humin knows he needs to prepare himself.
In the meantime, he busies himself watching Hyuntak, observing him. Because sure, Hyuntak said that he's happy with Seongje, Humin doesn't quite believe it. He remembers Sieun telling him about a stocking syndrome or whatever. It's possible that Hyuntak has it, so Humin needs to look out for his best friend.
As discreetly as possible, which is not much, but Hyuntak is as oblivious as him so he doesn't get caught, Humin checks Hyuntak from bruises or marks. Tries to find if he's in any kind of pain. Searches for any hint of violence.
He never finds any.
But Humin doesn't stop because one can never be too careful.
Humin doesn't just look out for nonexistent physical wounds; he looks out for the mental ones, too. Every time they meet, Humin tries to carefully gauge Hyuntak's words and actions to see if he's only pretending to be happy in front of them. Hyuntak is too honest to act out fake joy convincingly, but accepting that means accepting that Hyuntak is actually happy with Seongje.
And no, Humin isn't ready to believe that. Not yet. Not ever.
There are times when Humin can just pretend that Geum Seongje isn't an integral part of his best friend's life.
Hyuntak's birthday is not one of those times.
"Why can't we just hit a club?" Humin whines for the tenth time. They're all in Sieun and Suho's place, huddled on the living room floor while making plans for Hyuntak's birthday.
"Because I have work the next day," Hyuntak replies exasperatedly. This is probably the fifth time he's given Humin this exact answer, and while Humin sympathises with him, but he really doesn't want to go to Hyuntak's place. The place where he lives with Seongje.
"We won't drink then," Humin tries again, but then Hyuntak frowns at him, eyes burning with annoyance, and Humin knows he should stop pushing now.
"Cut the crap, Baku," he snaps. "It's my birthday."
"Sorry," Humin mumbles, and just like that, the decision is finalised.
Hyuntak, even with his loud friendliness and vibrant personality, doesn't particularly like crowds. Or well, he does, but only for so long. And with a job like his, where he has to be around people all day, Hyuntak didn't want a party for his birthday.
He wanted a quiet celebration with his friends – and boyfriend, ugh – over films and food. Humin can tolerate Geum Seongje for a few hours if it's for Hyuntak. And it's not like he's alone in his discomfort and suspicions. Sieun, Juntae, and Suho – mostly to support them because he doesn't actually know that guy – will right there with him.
Now, Humin stands outside of Hyuntak's flat holding drinks in one hand and the other one hovering over the bell.
He's been here before, to this too-big, too-expensive, and too-pretty flat that Hyuntak loves so much. That is Hyuntak's home now. He's the one who helped Hyuntak bring all his stuff when he moved in, but he's never been here with Seongje present.
Technically, it is Seongje's place, too. Scratch that. It is Seongje's place. He's the original owner of the place. He simply added Hyuntak's name on the property when he moved in with him because no offence to his extremely hardworking best friend, but there's no way in hell Hyuntak can afford a place like this at a fellow's salary.
He hopes Seongje doesn't act superior to Hyuntak just because he has more money. Humin will break his face if he does.
He sighs and rings the bell because he can't keep standing here like an idiot. A few moments later, the door opens, but instead of Hyuntak, it's Seongje who opens the door. Humin freezes.
Seongje looks different from how he did in high school. His hair is shorter, and he's grown into his face and annoyingly tall body, but it is still undoubtedly Geum Seongje.
The last time he saw Seongje was at—
Humin's breath hitches.
No.
He's not doing this. Not now, and not here.
Thoughts like this are for when he's in the safety of his own room, and can fall apart without anyone seeing him and interrupting him.
Seongje wordlessly steps aside, and Humin steps into the flat. Inside, Sieun, Juntae, and Suho are already setting up the takeout boxes while Hyuntak is browsing through films. He looks up when he hears Humin approach and yells, "You idiot, I thought you bailed on us! Why are you so late?"
Humin grins, "My dear Gotak, I know you think highly of me, but I can't control the traffic."
Hyuntak flips him off and deadpans, "Die," while Humin cackles.
They all settle in the large leather sofa; Seongje and Hyuntak sitting in one corner while Sieun and Suho take the other, with him and Juntae sitting in the middle.
"Let's eat before Baku and Suho finish it all," Juntae says, eyeing the containers while Humin and Suho launch into offended protests. Meaningless conversation flows among them as they eat. Seongje doesn't really talk to any of them, except Hyuntak, and surprisingly, Suho.
It makes sense, Humin supposes. Suho doesn't have any history with Seongje, not really. Sieun and Seongje mutually ignore each other, and Juntae is… civil with him. Humin wishes he could do that, too. That he could either ignore Seongje or be civil with them.
But Humin can't. So he remains hyperaware of Seongje's existence while refusing to say a single thing to him.
It makes things only a little awkward.
By the time they're done with dinner and drinks, it's already quite late. So halfway into the intense thriller film Hyuntak put on, Suho is already asleep, leaning fully on Sieun's body. Humin's eyes are stuck on the film, and while he's trying really hard to understand what's going on here, it's not an easy task.
He'll have to ask Juntae for a recap later.
And Hyuntak…
Humin turns his face to see what Hyuntak is doing and pauses. Hyuntak has fallen asleep, too. His head is resting on Seongje's shoulder while Seongje's eyes are stuck on the TV, but his hand is buried in Hyuntak's hair, messaging through it with the kind of gentleness Humin never thought would be possible by someone like him.
Those hands are what he uses to throw punches, to break bones and skin, and make people bleed. Those very hands are holding Hyuntak like he's precious.
Humin looks away; he feels like he's looking at something he's not supposed to, like he's intruding.
Humin doesn't look at them again until the film ends, and Seongje is dragging Hyuntak's deadweight to their bedroom while the rest of them take different guest rooms.
Humin lay awake on his bed for a long time. He stares at the ceiling and wonders about the possibility that Hyuntak really is happy with Seongje. That every day, he doesn't come home to a violent man like Humin thought, but someone who actually loves and cherishes him.
Humin's heart hurts.
A loud and painful question pops up in his head.
What if he's just jealous?
What if, deep down, he already knows that Hyuntak isn't unhappy or in pain or suffering? What if he knows that Hyuntak is truly in love and is loved in the home that he made for himself?
Maybe Humin sees them and it reminds him of the violent boy who loved him a lifetime ago. Maybe he sees Hyuntak – sees him smile at his phone while texting Seongje, sees him being excited for date nights, sees him talk about future plans that always involve Seongje – and it reminds him of the guilt and regret that he couldn't do that.
Hyuntak loves Seongje even with all the blood on his hands and violence in his heart. He doesn't even want Seongje to change and be better.
Humin couldn't do that. Not until he was attending the funeral of the boy whose name he still couldn't say out loud.
Humin misses him.
He curls into the bed and closes his eyes, trying to sleep, and dreams of his violent boy with sharp eyes filled with pain.
Next morning, he wakes up too early and with a slight headache. He tosses and turns on the bed until he gets too frustrated and decides it's time to get out of the room.
Thankfully, he's not the only one awake.
Hyuntak is sitting on the dining table, barely awake and with a coffee mug in his hands. Humin goes to join him.
"Why are you awake so early?" he asks.
Hyuntak looks at him through beady eyes, and Humin barely holds back a snort. "I have work," Hyuntak replies. "Why are you awake so early?"
"Couldn't sleep," Humin answers.
Hyuntak hums, looking more awake as he sips on his coffee. "Everything alright?" he asks.
Humin's reply comes subconsciously, without him even needing to think about it, "I'm good."
Hyuntak's eyes narrow. "You better not be lying to me."
"I'm not!" Humin lies. "I'm just hungry, okay. C'mon, Gogo, make me something. You should treat your guests better."
"Literally die," Hyuntak spits. "And I can't make you breakfast because I'm banned from the kitchen. Wait till Seongje wakes up."
"He is the one who cooks? I thought you guys either lived off takeout or just suffered through your terrible cooking."
"Shut up unless you wanna reach hell's gates before it's your time," Hyuntak threatens, and Humin raises his hands in defeat.
They sit in silence for a while. Hyuntak drinks his coffee while Humin gets lost in his thoughts. Eventually, he says, "Hey Gotak, can I ask you something?"
Hyuntak eyes him weirdly and with a little concern. "Since when do you need my permission? Just ask, idiot."
"What do you like about Seongje?"
Hyuntak chokes on his coffee.
"Wh–why are you asking me that?" Hyuntak stutters.
Humin shrugs, 'I just want to understand where you're coming from. And what you see in him. Is that your type? Irredeemable people?"
Not that Humin gets to say anything.
"That's… not it. I don't have a type, and even if I did, it definitely wouldn't be someone like Seongje," Hyuntak says. Then he adds, sighing, "It just happened, okay. I don't know how to explain this to you. I love him."
Humin jerks back in his seat, and his eyes widen a little. He didn't expect that.
Even Hyuntak looks pissed to have said that. He awkwardly shrugs and says, "Yeah, I do. And–and so does he. It's not like he's holding me captive, or that I'm with him out of fear or anything. He's still a stupid, moronic idiot, and I'm not fucking scared of him, no matter how much stronger he is now, so you better stop checking if I'm hurt all the time. It's annoying."
Humin laughs sheepishly, "You noticed that?"
Hyuntak rolls his eyes, "You're not subtle. I know you're looking out for me, but he's not going to hurt me, okay? He still pisses me off at times, and sometimes I really want to hit him, but—" Hyuntak pinches the bridge of his nose, and mutters, "—I can't believe I'm saying this, but he makes everything feel right."
Humin quietly leans back into the chair while Hyuntak looks down at his coffee. "I think—" he starts. "—I think I'm envious of your relationship. With him."
Hyuntak's eyes widen, and his lips part in surprise. "Baku…"
"It's not your fault, obviously," Humin quickly adds. "And it's not something I like feeling or what to feel at all, but it's also not something I'm able to control."
Hyuntak swallows and smiles, small and sad, "I'm sure he knew. How you felt."
Humin's eyes water, and his lips tremble. He remembers telling Baekjin he hated him. The crack of bones under his hands. The rain on his skin as he walked away. He shakes his head and whispers, "He didn't."
Hyuntak opens his mouth, probably to comfort him again, but stops when he hears footsteps approaching. Seongje comes into view, looking disoriented with lingering sleep, and Hyuntak's lips twitch up in a smile. "Make me breakfast. I'm hungry."
"You're annoying," Seongje grumbles, but walks into the kitchen all the same.
This time as Humin watches them, instead of annoyance and confusion, he feels a bit of amusement and a lot of happiness for Hyuntak.
Hyuntak is fine. He's sure of that now.
Yeon Sieun
Frankly, Sieun finds Hyuntak's and Seongje's relationship repulsive.
No thanks to them, Sieun has now tasted what it's like being homophobic. Or well, he's not really homophobic, is he? Of course, not. He has a boyfriend, after all. He's more like Hyuntak-dating-Seongje-phobic. Yeah, that's much more accurate.
Seeing them makes his body react viscerally with the kind of disgust that he can't hold back, no matter how much he tries, even if for Hyuntak's sake. Sieun has an inkling that Seongje knows this and is the only reason why he occasionally agrees to Hyuntak's demands about hanging out with the others.
Sieun wishes they would just… stop.
Up until Hyuntak's birthday, Humin was there with him in his hating, and Sieun doesn't know what the hell happened, but now he seems to have stopped antagonising Seongje completely.
Juntae doesn't hate Seongje – not anymore, probably didn't even during high school – and whatever fear that resided within him disappeared after Hyuntak started bringing him around during their hangouts. Suho doesn't hate Seongje at all. Sieun has a feeling Suho actually likes him and doesn't say anything for his sake.
So Sieun is now all alone with all the hatred in his heart.
But it's fine. Just because Sieun has gotten too used to having his friends chime along with him when he expresses his repulsion towards anyone doesn't mean Sieun can't continue with his feelings alone.
He hates Geum Seongje, and nothing will change that.
When Hyuntak first told them about dating Seongje, Sieun's first thought was that Hyuntak was either being blackmailed or that he hit his head and lost his sanity. Because only a person truly and completely insane would in any way associate themselves with Geum Seongje.
No matter how much Hyuntak reassures them that he's willingly together with Seongje, Sieun couldn't bring himself to believe it. Seongje constantly tormented Hyuntak for two whole years. Sieun didn't understand how Hyuntak put all that behind him.
And Hyuntak is the type to want to hide all his pain and handle everything on his own, just because he thinks he can. Sieun had all the reasons to believe that this is exactly what he was doing.
But then Seongje comes to pick him up, and Sieun becomes an unwilling victim of the sight of them absolutely melting into each other's embrace. Seongje's arms wrapped around Hyuntak's body like he was precious, and his voice was soft in a way that gave Sieun a whiplash.
Sieun couldn't believe his eyes.
So he didn't.
He told himself that he was drunk and that he was seeing things. Nevermind that he was tipsy at best because he only took one shot that day.
But then it keeps happening. Again and again and again.
After they all more or less accept the fact that Hyuntak is, in fact, dating Geum Seongje, he starts bringing a slightly annoyed Seongje around. He doesn't do it often, but every time he does, Sieun has to suffer through the sight of their quiet love.
It's… a strange sight.
Something so unexpected that most of the time, his brain refuses to even process it.
Seongje is a feral and violent creature with so much blood in his hands that unless he chops them off, he can never truly get rid of them. Those bloodied hands somehow manage to touch Hyuntak with nauseating gentleness.
Sieun has always been observant, and even with them, he notices too much.
The way Seongje always laces their fingers together when they hold hands, the way he picks out onions off the food before giving it to Hyuntak because he doesn't like them, the way Hyuntak starts seeking Seongje out when he's tired, even when he's not there, as if it's instinct, the way Hyuntak laughs when they talk about something that's not meant for anyone else to hear, the way Seongje's body loosens and relaxes when Hyuntak is close.
He sees the way Hyuntak's eyes sometimes get stuck on Seongje and he simply forgets about the rest of the world around him as if Seongje is all that matters, the way Seongje always gives in to every single one of Hyuntak's demands, even if he protests at first, and sometimes, he doesn't even bother with that.
It's sweet. Or, it would be, if it were literally anyone other than Seongje. If the person who makes Hyuntak this happy were anyone other than Geum motherfucking Seongje.
And it's not like Seongje's violence disappears just because Hyuntak is in his life now. No, Sieun has seen the flashes of it. The insanity that is always present in his eyes, the way his face goes dead and cold when someone gets too close to Hyuntak when they're out, the way Hyuntak grabs at him not to hold him but to hold him back from beating someone dead.
Hyuntak isn't some naive idiot. He has to know about what Seongje is and what he's capable of. And this might actually be the worst part of their relationship: that Hyuntak knows and loves him anyway.
Because that's what it is, right?
They're wholly, devotedly in love with each other.
Gross.
It shouldn't work, and there are days, Sieun wants to shake some sense into Hyuntak. Tell him to open his damn eyes and see exactly what kind of person he's dating. But then he thinks of Suho, and how if the positions were switched, and he and Suho were in place of Hyuntak and Seongje, he would still fall in love with him.
But at the end of the day, Suho isn't Seongje. He doesn't have a criminal record that could get his name listed on the Interpol, but still, Sieun tries not to judge too much.
After all, Hyuntak really does look happy with Seongje, and for Sieun, that is enough.
But they really need to stop touching each other right beside him because he's so close to grabbing a knife from the kitchen and stabbing them both, decade long friendship can go to hell.
Seo Juntae
Juntae isn't really surprised when Hyuntak announces that he's dating Geum Seongje. Well, he is. For the first five minutes after hearing it, Juntae feels like he's having a heart attack because surely, Hyuntak should know better than that.
He doesn't.
Juntae expected too much from him anyway, so it's his fault, really. And in hindsight, it makes sense. That someone like Hyuntak would fall for someone like Seongje, and vice versa. They kind of suit each other.
And their relationship turns out to be sweeter than anyone expected it to be, so Juntae doesn't have any complaints.
What does surprise him is that in the absence of Seongje, Hyuntak falls apart like a house of cards.
Despite their personal feelings about Seongje, when Hyuntak calls them – voice eerily flat but breath still catching in his throat – and asks them to come to the hospital he sent the address of, neither of them delay for a single second.
They find Hyuntak sitting in the waiting room outside the OR. He's looking down at his hands, eyes still, and body tense. Even when they all sit beside him, he doesn't say anything. No one pushes him.
They all sit beside him in silence, there for him to lean on when he needs to. The surgery goes on for hours, and no matter how much they try to get Hyuntak to eat something, none of them are successful.
Seongje is the one in the operating room, that much they know, but neither of them knows exactly what happened. Though they all know the nature of Seongje's work, so really, all of them can take a wild guess.
When the doors slide open, Hyuntak is up and rushing towards the doctor before anyone can even blink.
"How is he?" Hyuntak asks, and that's the first thing Juntae has heard him say since they arrived.
The doctor presses his lips together. "The surgery went well," he says reassuringly. "But he lost a lot of blood, so we'd like to keep him under observation for a while."
"But he'll be okay, right?" There is a desperation in his friend's voice that leaves Juntae raw and aching. Hyuntak is one of the kindest people Juntae knows, and not someone who deserves to hurt like this.
The doctor sighs, and Juntae can only watch as Hyuntak's face crumbles, "We've done our best. We can only say anything further after he wakes up."
Hyuntak swallows and nods before bowing slightly and saying, "Thank you."
"We'll move him to one of the general wards on the VIP floor in a minute. You can see him after," saying that, the doctor bows back and walks away while Hyuntak stands there, frozen and his eyes stuck on the floor.
Humin is the first one to approach him. He puts an arm around Hyuntak's shoulder and says, gently, "Let's eat something now, yeah? Then you can see him."
Hyuntak turns to Humin and blinks a few times before nodding slowly. They all make their way towards the hospital cafeteria where they sit Hyuntak down on one of the tables. Suho and Humin go to bring something light for him while he and Sieun sit beside him.
They bring some sandwiches and juice for them all, and they eat in uncomfortable and charged silence.
Once they're done eating, Juntae speaks up, "Tak-ah, we completely understand if you don't want to talk about it, but if you do, we're here for you. You can always lean on us."
Silence falls upon them as Hyuntak keeps staring at his hands, and at first, Juntae think he's not going to say anything at all, but then Hyuntak sighs and starts talking, "He got shot."
A chill sets in the air. They all had their guesses about the situation, but they still weren't ready for the confirmation.
"This is not the first time he's got hurt," Hyuntak adds, voice trembling more with each word. "This–it comes with his lifestyle. But it's never–it's never be–been this bad. I–"
"He'll be fine," Sieun states quietly. "He's too egoistical to die like this."
Hyuntak pauses, hearing that, and breathes out shakily. The panic attack that was surely coming slowly was dissipating. He nods and sniffs, "Yeah, you're right." He wipes his teary eyes, but the quiet devastation remains on his face, and Juntae doubts it'll go away till Seongje wakes up.
They all walk to the room Seongje is in together, but right before entering, Hyuntak tells them, "Go home, all of you."
Humin opens his mouth to protest, but Hyuntak cuts him off, "What're you gonna do here anyway? I'm staying here till he wakes up, but you guys have no reason to do that."
He is right. They'll just get in the way, and right now, Hyuntak wants to be as close to Seongje as possible, and their staying here isn't going to be of any help to him.
"Okay," Sieun says. "But you'll call if something happens?"
"Forget that," Suho adds. "Just update us hourly."
Hyuntak agrees easily, "I can do that."
"I'll bring you clothes and stuff," Juntae says, and Hyuntak smiles in gratefulness.
From Hyuntak's place, Juntae packs some comfortable clothes like his hoodies and joggers along with some toiletries before going back to the hospital. Juntae slides the door open slowly in case Hyuntak has fallen asleep, and he is right.
But instead of sleeping on the sofa like he expected, Hyuntak is sitting by the bed. One of his hands is clasped with Seongje's, and his head is laid on Seongje's thigh. Juntae sighs and puts the packed bag down on the sofa before taking the blanket folded there and draping it over Hyuntak.
The last thing he needs right now is a cold.
He doesn't linger there and leaves before he accidentally wakes Hyuntak up. He needs the sleep.
It takes three days for Seongje to wake up, and when he does, the first thing Hyuntak does is yell at him, all while looking very close to breaking down. But then Seongje pulls him into a hug, and he does break down, falling apart, but this time with Seongje there to put him back together.
Really, he's much better for Hyuntak than the others realise.
Ahn Suho
Anyone with eyes, or hell, anyone even without eyes, can tell that Hyuntak and Seongje are in love with each other. Suho knows that the rest of the gang has their problems with Seongje. Sieun has done his best to explain it to Suho. About high school fights, broken friendships, and a lifetime of heartache.
But Seongje doesn't fall in any of those categories.
He falls in the parts where Sieun talks about pain, and torment, and anger, and betrayals.
Suho isn't really bothered by any of it. He was in a coma when it all happened, and in the ten years since, he's grown past the boy who threw himself in fights impulsively. He'd still fight Seongje if needed, gangster or not, but Seongje has never given Suho any reason to be suspicious of him or think of him negatively.
If he's being honest, he likes Seongje.
Suho finds him and his ability to piss people off simply by breathing absolutely hilarious. In the same breath, he is dangerously charming and can make people do just about anything only with a few words. The contrast is fascinating.
This is not something he'll ever share with Sieun, though, not unless he wants to be subjected to a week of sleep without his boyfriend.
For Sieun's sake, Suho tries to stay away from Seongje at first. It's not like Seongje comes around that often, and even when he does, he mostly just talks to Hyuntak and only says anything to the others when he wants to get a rise out of them.
But eventually, they do end up talking.
When discussing which film to watch, or when they play Mario Kart together, or when they're the ones being sent to buy more drinks and snacks. Like right now, when they're walking the empty street towards the convenience store silently.
Suho glances towards Seongje from the corner of his eyes. Seongje is walking lazily with his hands buried in the pockets of his jacket. Suho looks away, puts his own hands in his pocket and glances at him again.
"What?" Seongje snaps. "Is there something you want to say?"
"Not talking at all is so weird," Suho groans.
"You're weird," Seongje retorts immediately, and it's such a childish thing to say that it makes Suho snort. "Your boyfriend will flip and try to push me off a building if he finds out that you talked to me."
"He won't," Suho defends Sieun.
Seongje rolls his eyes and keeps walking, silent once again, making Suho huff in annoyance. "It's not any of our fault that the group hates you."
"Listen here, coma boy—" Seongje starts and Suho glares at him at the offensive nickname. "—I don't give two flying fucks if any of you hate me. I only care about Hyuntak, and I know for a fact that he doesn't hate me."
"What if he leaves you because we tell him that we can't accept you?" Suho asks even though he already knows the answer.
"If he was going to leave me just because you guys didn't approve, he wouldn't have dated me in the first place." There's something smug and fond in Seongje's voice that makes Suho smile.
"You're so whipped," he laughs, and now it's Seongje's turn to glare at him.
"I'm not going to hear that from you, of all people," Seongje retorts, and yeah, fair enough.
"I didn't mean it in a bad way, though, you know," Suho clarifies. "It's cute. What you two have going on. And Hyuntak's whipped, too, so it's not like you're alone with your feelings."
Seongje doesn't say anything back at that; instead, his expression turns pensive. Suho expects him to say something romantic. Make some grand declarations about his and Hyuntak's love, but Seongje doesn't do any of that. He only says, "I know that," and that's it.
Suho hums. Whatever works for their relationship. As long as Hyuntak is happy, Suho has nothing to worry about, and for now, Hyuntak is definitely happy.
When they return to the flat with the drinks and snacks with them, Seongje goes straight to Hyuntak in the kitchen. Suho hears faint laughter coming from both of them, and he huffs.
Cute.
They're definitely cute.
Across the room, his eyes meet Sieun's, who stares at him curiously before patting the empty sofa beside him. Suho grins and makes his way to his boyfriend.
Hyuntak and Seongje might have an adorable relationship, but he and Sieun are still better at it than them.
