Chapter Text
The Hermits were incredibly kind about Sapnap tagging along with Fruit and Pete, even though he hadn’t been invited. He faded into the background and eventually ended up overhearing a few things that really shook his world. One of those things was when Pete had jokingly lamented about not doing as well as he’d hoped for, but the Hermits, along with Hbomb, praised him for getting into the Top 5, saying that he should be proud of his performance. If that’d been him with his friends, they would’ve joined in saying that he’d lost his touch or something. Soon enough, he was roped into a conversation about MCC. The way they talked about MCC was different from the types of conversations he’d have about MCC. The Hermits weren’t talking about placements or anything; instead, they talked about times where they had the most fun playing MCC and funny, memorable moments they had, even if those moments weren’t crazy highlight moments or anything.
The group ended up getting lunch together, and Sapnap joined in with the conversations more. He ended up invested in a conversation with Gem & False about PvP. It turned out that Gem was more of a sword person, while False preferred the bow, with him being more into axes. He had a wonderful conversation debating the pros and cons of their different fighting styles. Sapnap apparently gained a new nickname thanks to Scar misreading his username, but honestly, he found Snapnap hilarious. He also ended up arguing with Scar about Pandas, which he felt Scar was disrespecting. Really, he couldn’t let Scar say such things, considering what his original username was. The two of them finally settled into an uneasy truce.
Time flew by as he hung out with the Hermits and the other MCC participants. He normally didn’t interact with many people outside of his social group, but now, having done some friendly light-hearted competition with the other S-Tiers plus Hbomb, he knew that it would benefit him to talk with them more. They all had plenty of insights when it came to MCC, plus they were great guys to hang out with. He can’t remember if he ever hung out with anybody from MCC for anything other than MCC. He even worked on toning down his swearing after one too many close calls. By the time the group had finished hanging, he had 10 minutes till he needed to meet with Dream and George.
