Summary
“Tell – tell me you love me.” She says, a surety not present before now. Something she’d only ever entertained in the sickest part of her mind, latching onto the almosts and letting them fester. But she knows that it will work. Knows how she responds to the three little words that Kara never quite says. Knows she will never be the same again and she’s counting on it. “I come harder when you lie to me.”
A slight pause. A stutter of her hips. A singular moment made up from memories of countless others, lighting up one by one in a vivid array of color where the past five months have been black and white. And Kara whispers the words in her ear like it’s the one thing she’s been waiting to say her whole life.
“I love you. Rao, I love you.”
Or -
Upon learning that her best friend has been deceiving her for years, Lena offers an ultimatum for forgiveness. Kara is willing to do anything she asks in order to salvage what they had - but it takes them both down a path they never could have prepared themselves for. Just how far is Kara willing to go for love?

Summary
“I hope I didn’t interrupt anything important. You just looked kind of uncomfortable and he was getting a little handsy with you so I thought that I would come save you.” She says it quietly, only audible to Lena’s ears despite the soft quality of the music. Then after a beat, she realizes exactly how that must sound, promptly flushes and then backpedals. “I mean, not to imply that you needed saving or – or that you would prefer my hands on you – “And Rao that was not much better and she really should stop talking now. “I just wanted to give you an out and I thought you may feel safer with – well. Me.”
Or
Kara is a useless gay, thirsting after her best friend. And Lena makes lots of very non-platonic comments in hopes that it will someday register.

Summary
Lena looks at him wide eyed. “Save us? What are you saving us from exactly? We're dead."
“Well, not quite.”
Kara steps into his personal space then, giving every bit the aura of a steaming hero. Lena walks up a step as well, putting the back of her hand on Kara's chest and giving her a shove backwards before she thinks much of it.
“What the fuck do you mean ‘not quite?’ If we're dead, we're dead. There is no in between.” Lena says incredulously.
“Actually,” the angel snaps his fingers and a chair appears in the middle of the room. He takes a seat, crossing his legs and a book similar to the one she was trying to get off the shelf appears in his hands. Nirvana – A Spirit Guide. “There is.”
Pulled from their lives by a meddling angel, Lena and Kara must learn to work together if they have any hope of returning home. But there is one small problem with that.
They really hate each other.

Summary
Lena lets out a careful breath and says, “James and I have decided to end our— association.”
What a perfectly weird and roundabout way to describe the end of a romantic relationship, Kara thinks. “Oh?” she says, aptly demonstrating her own comparative lack of eloquence.
It earns her one of Lena’s crinkly smiles at least, affection clear on her best friend’s face. “Should I feel offended that you don’t seem all that surprised?” she flusters.
“No,” Kara says, “I am,” and she is, is the thing, she's actually stunned, but she’s something else, much more than that.
She’s elated.
“Bummer,” Kara says.
-
In which Kara makes a tiny new enemy, Alex has an actual functioning gaydar, and Lena breaks up with James only to immediately start seeing someone else. And Kara is fine! Except for the part where she’s really, really not.

Summary
Kara knew a thing or two about loss. She knew it intimately. Slept beside it like a distant lover, a thin pillow between them.
So she knew that when she watched from her place beside Lena as her best friend got married to Jack, it almost felt like being embraced by loss all over again. She tucked her head down, covered her face daintily as if her happiness for the now wedded couple was so overwhelming she had to swallow it back in.
OR
kara is in love with lena, lena got married to jack, and andrea somehow clocks kara's feelings from the jump. then, you know, life happens.
