Bakugou isn’t very amused by this proposition, “I don’t do nicknames,” he says.
“But you come up with such creative ones for other people,” Izuku says with a slight whine to his voice, “Are you saying you’ve seriously never had a nickname?”
“I never fucking said that, someone gave me a nickname once,” he says. Izuku can already tell that he’s going to be stubborn about it.
“Must have been some very brave soul,” he remarks.
For a second, Izuku thinks of Kacchan and his nickname. He and Bakugou are more alike than Izuku would like to admit.

Summary
Katsuki returns home, they say he’ll make a full recovery.
He locks eyes with one of the two photos framed and placed on his countertop. It’s a class photograph, he locks eyes with a familiar man, then just a teenager- a habit from long, long ago. Green eyes meet his through the glass. Suddenly, that person that he’s been thinking about on the walk home had a concrete face, no longer something blurry. Seeing Midoriya Izuku like this, it brings a flash of familiarity, but in a way that brings no emotions at all other than a brief, contemplative:
I think I loved you.
Or:
When Katsuki had the Hanahaki flowers blooming within him removed, he was prepared for almost all the side effects: blurry memories, dull emotions, and a scratchy throat. But no one had mentioned that one side effect would be Izuku's growing attention.
Katsuki doesn't know how to manage this side effect, because he doesn't know what he's done to garner it in the first place.

The TV before the two plays a celebrity gossip channel and it’s currently losing its shit over how two pro heroes in the top ten rankings are dating each other.
“Us dating is that powerful?”
“They should be glad this is all fake,” snarks Kacchan. He’s looking way too self-satisfied about this whole thing; it kind of looks like how he smiles when he beats up a villain to a bloody pulp. His expression’s pretty downright sinister. “If we were really dating, the whole world would be on fuckin’ fire.”
Izuku snorts, switching the channel, “more like the whole world would be on fire before we start actually dating.”
