Chisato relied on Kaoru, but on Kaoru’s part, she never really let Chisato return the favor. Kaoru was no longer the soft spoken child from ten years ago, but Chisato found it hard to believe that she was no longer as sensitive and emotional. Sometimes Chisato worried, even to the point where she suspected that Kaoru was hiding her feelings just as Chisato did.
However, Chisato convinced herself that Kaoru was just fine, and if something really was the matter, Kaoru would come to her.
Then Kaoru showed up unannounced on Chisato’s doorstep half past nine.
