Zarkon realises that both Kolivan and Sendak are hitting their first ruts, and in an attempt to keep them both safe, he splits his rival students for the duration of their ruts to be safe.
It's just really hard when your dorm-mate and rival keeps saying you've got a tiny knot, and keeps pressing your buttons. Sendak just HAS to prove him wrong, and Kolivan has to meet anything Sendak's done and pay it back double. That's what happens in the heat of the moment; you end up doing (stupid) things.

There are lions there, not the wild lions he would occasionally see hunting prey just past his territory, but colorful and well groomed lions. They pounce and play together, and with Keith too. Just not the black one, their Alpha, Keith’s Alpha. He is too old and prideful for anysort of cub play, but he doesn't mind. Keith walks up to him eventually in every dream. They hunt and groom like mates do.

“How was the gala last night, Keith?” She asks. She always strikes conversations just to weblum out information from his worklife. She might be the second most nosy into his personal affairs, right behind Krolia herself. At least she doesn't follow him everywhere she can.
“Quite boring as per usual.” Keith replies dryly before escaping into his apartment. She has no business in the imperial court for a reason.

When Krolia left Earth, she took Keith with her. Keith was raised as a soldier of the galra empire and was given the name Keithian. He rose in the ranks quickly and so did his mother. One day Keith was sent out to discover what his secondary gender was. He soon ran away. He found himself on the castle of lions and pretended that he was fully human. -Skip to when Keith and Lance are a couple and have taken down a lot of the galra empire and everyone now knows that he is half-galra (around season 4). Keith knows something that Zarkon doesn’t, so when Zarkon kidnaps Keith he knows that things aren’t going to be all sunshine and rainbows.
