Ever since he was a young boy, Osamu had heard many tales from wandering adventures, speaking of riches that put even the king himself to shame, medicinal herbs that could cure the fatalest of injuries and strong beasts that ruled where humans once did. Of course, being the intelligent child he was, Osamu never believed any of these tales. Adventurers had a tendency to twist even the smallest of encounters into the greatest of legends; he had fallen victim to these exaggerated truths more than once.
However, this time was different. Numerous formidable adventuring parties had been going missing in the mountain range a few kilometers west of his current guild, unmapped lands; those who returned spoke of dangers beyond anything they had ever seen, warning fellow adventurers not to explore the mountains, no matter the riches that may lay beneath its death ridden grounds.

“You seem confused” Dazai states eyeing Atsushi like he’s trying to pick him apart piece by piece.
“For good reason” Atsushi blurts “I woke up in a random back ally surrounded by a cult trying to sacrifice me to their voodoo god!” he finishes.Dazai pauses at the word cult and sacrifice “you think we’re a cult?” He speaks with amusement “and that we were trying to sacrifice you??” A chuckle escaping his lips. “Funny, we were stopping you from brutally killing us. I mean, it probably would have been a fairly eventful death. But I’m not at all interested in a painful one.” Dazai says matter of factly. “First off, you’re lying” he stutters. Dazai eyes him curiously, like he’s finally figured out how he ticks. “Am I?” he questions Atsushi. “Yes, you are. And secondly whose blood did you splash on me? Is this a ritual?” Atsushi retorts. “Still adamant on the cult thing I see.”

Atsushi Nakajima is a 15 year old boy who had just managed to escape the orphanage he grew up in. He’s now on the streets, alone, and hungry.
The story goes downhill after he meets a 18 year old, childish and suicidal Dazai who wants to recruit him to a.. cult? gang? Mafia?
