Summary
The stars are bright outside, but they're so far away. So distant, a fickle memory in a far gone mind. The only thing he can reach, the only tangible object, is his arm, cold and metal in his hand: his forever companion, his only constant. He wishes he could rip it from its socket.
At least... At least it's inspired him to do much more in this life of his. He'll take this thing that weighs so heavy on him and make it good.

Summary
Ren had expected to find a lot of things when he returned home from his 2-day business trip to Boatem. He had expected to find his house messy, as he had forgotten to clean before he left. He had expected to find his coffee pot broken, because Grian had broken it a few months ago and forgotten to replace it. He had even expected some sort of prank from his competition, dragging him into a war he knew he wouldn’t win.
He had not expected to find a fixed coffee pot and a nest of blankets on the floor of the one unused closet he had. He had not expected to go downstairs into his basement and find that all of his marketing notes had been moved into a pile on one table to make way for scientific equipment.
And he most certainly had not expected to find a creeper-hybrid in a lab coat bent over one of said pieces of scientific equipment. But here he was, sitting in a chair that was much too small, as it was made for Ren and not the much larger creeper-hybrid.
Aka- Ren and Doc meet for the first time because Doc has set up shop in his basement. Ren just wants him to leave, and nobody really knows what Doc wants.

Bobbie sat on a barstool at the counter, kicking his legs back and forth. “Whatcha makin’?”
“Soup. You’ll get a stomach ache if you have nothing but popsicles and popcorn.”
“I’ll just switch off with Ren when it starts to hurt.”
“If the body is neglected when Ren fronts again, he’ll be annoyed at me.” Doc tossed a warm wet rag at him. “You’ve got popsicle on your face.”
Doc chopped some carrots and dropped them into the pot he was using. When he turned around, Bobbie was staring at the rag like he didn’t know what he was meant to do with it. He’d pulled the hoodie of his onesie up over his ears.
Doc leaned over the counter and picked up the rag, before carefully dabbing at the sticky juice around Bobbie’s mouth.
or, in which doc accidentally upsets bobbie, then tries very hard to make it better.

Summary
As a result of glitched code, and a now-ex partner shoving him down a dark hole, Grian ends up on the Hermitcraft server. But he doesn't arrive at spawn. Instead, he finds himself far away from other players, slowly leaning more and more into his instincts until he's more or less feral.
And it's then that a hermit finds him.
Grian is torn between his new-found independence and listening to his avian and omegan instincts to be around others.

Summary
Doc would never have considered himself a relatively profound friend of Ren’s. They were friends, for certain, but in the same way Doc would consider himself a friend of Joe’s or a friend of Scar’s. They interact. They spend time together. They sometimes collaborate on builds.
And, on occasion, Doc supposes that friendship extends to pulling the man from lava and attempting to salvage what bits of him have been destroyed and mangled from a near disastrous end of a season.
But, really, he should know the man better. He should have some sense of who Ren is, of what he needs, what he does, yet the man sat before him… He’s not certain it’s Ren at all.
And Doc doesn’t know enough to explain why…

Doc crossed his arms over his chest. Every day. Every day he regretted ever becoming friends with the mutt next to him. He remembered the day they had voted on inviting him to join Hermitcraft. Doc should have voted no.
Voting yes was actually probably the best decision he’d ever made, but he sure as hell wasn’t going to let Ren know that.
or, ren knows doc better than doc would like to admit, and he knows one does not disappear for a month and then get a pet ender dragon when they're doing great mentally.
