Summary
"Shut the fuck up," Mushitarou mutters. Any bit of distraction could make him lose sight of Yokomizo. "He's right there."
"...Who?"
Mushitarou's head snaps over to Ango's, a snarl on the tip of his tongue. However, his aggression fizzles out the moment he makes eye contact with the other man, who is watching him through the lenses of his glasses, lips pursed in confusion and concern.
For just a split second, Mushitarou sees Yokomizo, in the drooping, downturned eyes paired with strong eye bags from sleepless nights. Ango's eyes reflect the lamp's weak lighting, and the shade it produces is one Mushitarou hasn't seen in a while but would recognise anywhere.

The voice slices through the haze like a blade against ice—sharp, sudden, and groundbreaking. Kunikida lets out a quiet gasp, his eyes snapping to the source. He looks up, away from the endless crowd and towards a balcony, where someone is leaning over the railings, waving wildly.
"Ranpo," he whispers, the name ghosting past his lips and leaving behind a sweet aftertaste.

Before they go, though, Lucy stops Louisa in her tracks.
She frowns. “Are you okay?”
“Your hair is messed up,” Lucy explains. She reaches out, fixing the strand that had somehow gotten tangled around Louisa’s headband. It takes only a moment. Lucy wishes it required more time. She would spend an eternity in a safe room with only Louisa for company, running her hands through her hair, weaving little braids into it.
Maybe one day, they can run away and find a safe place together.

Bram considers this. Lovecraft nuzzles its face deeper into Bram’s neck. It murmurs something Aya can’t make out, but whatever it is causes Bram’s resolve to break.
“Oh, very well,” he relents. “I must admit these ‘movies’ you have been introducing me to are…interesting.”

Kunikida expects laughter and teasing. He expects Ranpo to double over, cackling at him, and for Dazai to follow, because the two of them always revel in Kunikida’s suffering.

They could soar higher than the clouds and burn the stars while they were at it, they could raze towns or keep castles safe til their flesh turned to rot.
All his life, that’s how Tachihara heard of dragons. From the days when he was little, and his brother told him the stories, to when he was a teen, repeating them all to Shunzen’s grave. And now that he’s older, and part of the royal guard, they all feel so much realer.

“Shit,” Chuuya hisses. Albatross opens its mouth, but Chuuya slams a hand over it before it can say anything. “Shut up.”
They clamber off of it, then gesture for it to hide under the desk. When it tries to protest, Chuuya gives it the dirtiest glare it can muster. It withers, and does as they asked. They run a hand through their hair, trying to put it back in place, then wipe their mouth with the back of their hand. They take a moment to slow their breathing before crossing over to the door and opening it.
