This started as a fox and the hound inspired piece that I thought would be pretty short and then it....spiraled. This is mostly canon compliant but continues after what we currently have in canon so please accept my taking of liberties with whatever goes on. This is obviously boys playing soccer not a literal fox and hound so, I think I came up with scenarios pretty similar conceptually to the movie but for people. Idk! Enjoy :)

He pursed his lips, narrowing his eyes. Shadows crested across his face, dappled light filtering in between the trees. It provided the perfect cover. The beast hadn’t even looked up, blissfully ignorant of the hunter-- of him. Purpled was about to release the arrow when the demon sat up, and he finally got a good look at it.
The demon couldn’t be older than him. It had tufty blonde hair, with blue eyes brighter than the sky. Red horns that were barely more than knubs protruded from his head. The demon had a bright green bandana tied loosely around its neck, a compass draped down beneath it. Purpled’s hands began to shake, his breath catching.
The demon was a child. This monster was nothing more than a kid, just like him.
tldr; Purpled is a monster hunter, Tommy is a demon. Unlikely friendship ensues. Oh yeah, both have unaddressed trauma.
