Summary
Roger understood why Brian was kept behind a desk now. He was boring. Boring as sin. Here they were, at a party neither of them could've afforded, just keeping an eye on things undercover, and Brian was stiff as a post. He hardly even SMILED for Christ's sake. They were supposed to be a couple, but they looked like a couple on the verge of a divorce.
Brian hated this. He wasn't a field agent, and wasn't even trained in it. He definitely wasn't social. Brian lived for work, on computers, behind a desk, enjoying tea and biscuits while /other/ people did all this shit.

Summary
Brian drags Freddie to go see something beautiful in the sky, because his professor asked him to. Kinda fluffy love one shot with a setting back when they were at school, Brian is taking Astrophysics, of course, and Freddie is taking Design. I don’t know what this is honestly, I just wrote it for my English class and thought it was cute.

Roger thinks the world of Brian, no matter what happens to them. And Brian feels the same. There are simply tough spots that occur sometimes, and people need to be reminded how much they mean.
(Or, in 1981 there's a big new song playing on the radio that neither Brian nor Roger can keep out of his head.)

Summary
Let us cling together as the years go by, oh my love, my love. In the quiet of the night let our candle always burn; let us never lose the lessons we have learned. - Brian May, 'Teo Torriatte'
The members of Queen are a family. They've been together for a good ten years, and have reinvented themselves many times.
But sometimes reinvention isn't the most comfortable thing, and certainly isn't the most happy. And sometimes, families fight.
(Or, during the recording of the Hot Space studio album, the boys push each other, and Roger Taylor learns just how far a friend is willing to go for him. And vice versa.)

Summary
Roger remembers the past. He cannot bloody forget it, no matter how hard he tries to move forward. But it doesn't help when he has a friend who seems to excel at causing old griefs to pop up and rankle. And others he misses terribly.
(Or, what Roger could very well be thinking while Brian celebrates John on the erstwhile bassist's birthday)

Summary
"The Midwest could get on your nerves because of the sheer repetition of everything and every town is so much like the others. And you did feel like you were in a cultural vacuum sometimes. All we had was bad televisions and vibrating beds --even worse-- and, ah, bad food. But it was still a lot of fun, haha. There was no sex and drugs and that... there wasn't really much sex--well, there wasn't much drugs." - Roger Taylor
(Or, while on the 1977 world tour for their album A Day At The Races, the members of Queen learn a few things of interest about the American Midwest. And about themselves.)

phosphenes - the light produced when rubbing your eyes
"Freddie has to fight the sudden and near irresistible urge to hug his back. Instead, he stands up and leans against the counter beside him, basking once more in the ghost of his body heat. He rubs his eyes again, dazzled by the cosmos behind his eyelids, so similar to the one Brian’d just described. Brian gives him a little side-eye. Freddie fights back another yawn."
