Summary
Superman gets used to fighting alongside Batman. Strategies unmatched and a wide set of knowledge about most necessary matters encountered in the bat’s path have put the man of steel’s rather stylized way of fighting in a more tranquil stance ever since they ever decided to join forces. They evolved into neat partners, able to perfectly comprehend their battlefield needs, and their personal ones too, never threading paths too far from one another even in their different areas– meaning, both geographically and morally.
And maybe that's why Clark's heart sank when he met Robin, scared, looking way too small in a cape and suit too big for him, eyes sparkling through his need to fight and to prove himself fit for the size of a hero the world needs him to be. Bold were his moves, and his ecstatic urge to live despite the pain he felt with every punch he received, just a few seconds before getting up again and dodging every next one.

She’s tall, probably nearly as tall as Bruce, with medium-tone skin and long, dark hair that falls in soft waves down to her mid-back. She’s wearing a long-sleeved black dress and a set of perfect pearls. Her dark red lips are pulled up in a smirk, and her dark green eyes are set right on Bruce.
The expression on her face is…
Clark doesn’t know why, but he doesn’t like it.
“You’re a hard man to find, Mr. Wayne,” she says with the slightest hint of an accent that Clark can’t quite place.

He was trying to tell Bruce that he was ready, that he knew that Bruce was genuine, that he was ready for the next step. In his panic, in his fear, in his guilt and his shame, all Bruce had been able to do was play Clark’s advances off, pretend that he didn’t notice, pretend that he didn’t stay up all night stirring in his bed, bracing himself for the inevitable day when Clark stated his needs out loud, leaving Bruce unable to play dumb any longer.

Summary
Superman is hope personified. He is light and smiles and the sun after a storm - the people trust him. He knows this. He knows it when he is Clark Kent, average reporter, and he knows it when he is Kal El, the man of steal. Soon he is approached by his fellow heroes, one year into his crusade as the Man of Steel, to join a new group for Earth's defense. The Justice League.
He gets along with Wonder Woman and the Flash and Green Lantern and all the other new heroes, but Batman proves to be a challenge. The hero from Gotham is cryptid, gruff, and if Clark weren't raised with manners, he'd even say a pain in the ass.
However, as the years pass, things change. There are the occasional moments where Clark is able to drop his Superman smile and simply *be*. What do all these moments have in common? Batman (Bruce, as he comes to know him). Superman, for once, is able to exist in the in between of ideals, masks, and lies to find true friendship. And when friendship is no longer a word enough to describe what the two of them share - well that's when things get tricky.

Lois paused for a moment, letting her words sink in before she continued, a slight smirk now on her lips. “He then also allegedly complimented the woman on her Superman pyjamas, and said ‘He’s my favourite hero!’.”

The window near the entrance to the diner shatters. Lois barely has time to get under the table, let alone pull Smith down with her, before the rest follow. There’s a scream, followed by shouting; when Lois looks up from under the table, she sees that there aren’t any casualties in the diner, at least. She moves up a little higher to peer out the window.
It’s a testament to the life she leads that her reaction to seeing Batman fighting a bunch of guys in the street is to roll her eyes.
