Stiffening feeling a warmth hit his ear as the man spoke lowly, “Your lucky I’m me, and not one of those other guys out there wanting to make you their bitch,” an intake of breath, “I heard all the commotion when you walked up, they haven't seen a pretty boy in a while.”
“And whose bitch are you?” George grinned, toxic chocolate melting off his syllables, “Who do you let use you for safety, big boy?”

George looked back at his bed, an urge to go back to sleep strong. But, he couldn't shake away the nightmare anyway... Making up his mind, he grabbed the backpack from the ground and started towards the desk. Climbing on top of the desk, he pushed at a plank of wood blocking the exit and blinked at the sudden light. George hoisted himself up and placed the board back, taking extra care to put dirt and rubble on it.
Starting out, he pulled out a map from his backpack. George decided to go around the city, rather than risking and cutting through the city. He looked up at the rising sun and folded his map.
