When John Constantine makes it onto the Waverider, he expects his time to be short. All he needs to do is help them wrangle some lost fugitives, defeat Neron, and save Desmond. Then he'll be out of their hair.
But then he comes down with something. And every day since then, whenever he dreams about returning to Desmond, he ends up coughing up flower petals. Blood red roses, delicate pink peonies, rich enchanted orchids. But most importantly, some bittersweet violets.

“Huh,” Death murmurs. “I haven’t seen one of these for years. Or, well –“ she shoots him a cheeky smile. “Not a successful one, anyway.”
“What’s he doing?” Desmond asks.
“He’s bartering for a soul,” Death replies.
After the Legends defeat and capture Neron, John demands an audience with Hell. He wants a deal: a demon for a soul.Set in the season four endgame, projecting forward from the midseason finale.
