Summary
Set adrift after breaking out of interdimensional prison, Scourge the Hedgehog has found himself at rock bottom. So of course he agrees to join up with the charismatic, mysterious hedgehog who finds him at a bar one night. Even if he's not really sure what he's agreeing to. But hey, hanging around the rich and successful Mephiles has to be better than sleeping on the street and drinking cheap beer, right?
Mephiles the Dark has kept an eye on Scourge ever since he helped him escape the prison, although he's sure the other hedgehog doesn't remember it. No one seems to remember Mephiles, after all, and it's given him the chance to quietly amass power - not to destroy the world this time, but instead with a plan to rule it in a different way altogether: capitalism. But he finds himself up against enemies he hadn't anticipated - rival corporations.
Mephiles is happy to throw Scourge into the fray, to come between him and the goons the other corporations send his way. And if he also provides some much needed release on the side, who is Mephiles to turn him away? Neither wants to dig too deep into any feelings they may be starting to develop toward each other - not even when both their futures start to be on the line.

Welcome to the fifth installment in the Honesty is the Best Policy story series! This story is all about the characters, comic characters or otherwise. As the story progresses, I will add in more characters from the Archie and IDW Sonic comics. Each will have some sort of storyline involving them. I am focusing a lot more on the other characters than Honest this time around, and I will be limiting the point-of-view to one character more often.
Due to how many characters are in the Sonic comics, and the fact that they will all have their own plots associated with them, this will most likely be the longest of the Honesty is the Best Policy series. So if you like long stories, you will definitely love this one. Otherwise, if this book just doesn't sound like your thing, you can read any of the other Honesty is the Best Policy stories. You can start anywhere really without skipping a beat. 😄
