He attempts to remedy this the way he knows how: by inventing a biomanipulator. Things do not go as planned, and what was supposed to heal his "damaged" mind, has transformed "him" into a "her" instead. The darkness in her own soul follows her relentlessly as she scrambles to make sense of what she wants and what she deserves.
