There’s a million reasons that can explain why Duke’s found himself living in Bruce Wayne’s manor and there’s a million more that can explain why this fact scares the living shit out of him.
The people here are the people that Duke’s looked up to ever since he first heard the names Batman and Robin. And now- what? He’s living with them?
Or, maybe, it'd be more apt to say that he lives in their shadows.
And he’s not sure he’ll be able to work his way up to their sides.
That’s not to say he’s not going to try. If there’s one thing that Duke Thomas does, it’s not giving up. He’s going to give this chance his all.
He just needs to find out where he fits.

There were very few times when Duke wished he'd listened to Batman. This was one of them. After touching the device he'd been specifically told not to touch, he'd ended up in some strange timeline where Bruce was old and incredibly grumpy and Batman was a teenager. Now he just had to figure out how to get home and what exactly he should do about the teenager who was clearly struggling to handle Gotham on his own.
