They had heard that humans had many places to go to after they perished, many of which being described as realms of eternal joy with no pain or suffering. Many drones believed that, if the stories were true of course, that they’d go to a similar place once they would pass.
Doll discovered that this was unfortunately not the case.
After having her core ripped out and consumed by Cyn, she awoke only to find herself in an unfamiliar realm inhabited by only the deceased were the line between organic material and machinery was thin. Doll only had one goal, survive the harsh environment she was forced to call her new home, her task only made slightly easier by the assistance of whoever wasn’t clambering to kill her a second time.
